Thank you for sharing this video with us. It took me about seven months to fully recover, and now I am considering having the plate removed. However, the doctor mentioned there is a possibility of affecting the radial nerve again. Do you have any advice?

I don't think that'll help if it's not used with their dominant side. Can you write your name or even draw with your none dominant hand? I never stopped my Aikido wrist stretches keeping the hand from balling up and stiff.

Yes can agree with this . Hearing sensitive. Light. Outpatient therapy was too much. Made me worse.

Hello, would you say someone 4 years post stroke is too late to get your hand and arm back. I had an OT that stayed on giving me ADLS while I was in acute care. Then when I was receiving outpatient OT she didn't want to touch my arm/shoulder due to subluxation. I still refuse to give up regardless of how many OT have given up on or are doing the very minimal. They all basically just taught me compensating techniques it sadness me to know that I could be in a different place right now in my recovery. Thank you.

I had Shoulder Surgery everything worked great until about three weeks after the surgery and I do not have Russ drop, but I cannot give a thumbs up and I cannot extend my fingers at the knuckle only at the joints. I can grip things just as you can my wrist I can’t move it left to right, but I can raise it up or down. My surgeon assures me that this will go away and 4 to 5 months, he says I must’ve slept on my arm wrong. What do you think?

In Australia, we are not allowed to drive a vehicle with a splint on. Stupid. I know, but I still did. Without the splint on it was very hard to change gear with my left hand.

I had a massive stroke in 2021 and was in intensive neurorehabilitation for 1.5 years. I was discharged with the ability to stand up and take a few steps, compensatory skill with a cane or leaning on the wall. I still have severe spasticity and nerve pain on my left side and zero use of my left arm and hand. It is very frustrating. I continue to exercise at home but hoping to find things that could help. I was told that I'll have this disabilities all my life but I don't want to accept that. I'm a permanent resident in Copenhagen but can't find too many gadgets here to help me. And yes, I also have very limited funds, so I'm researching all the time and hoping and praying. Thank you for these tips

Wow, guys, great episode. I fell asleep with my stoke and been almost one year of stoke survival. I agree with this young man! What better way? I can't think of any...Talk to your Creator at all times. Have a relationship with Christ! Our care givers (usually or wives) are God sent. Your wedding vows are to Death do you part. God bless!

Insurance unfortunately is not regulated like it should be. You pay premiums for decades then when you need it you pay deductibles and they determine while sitting behind a desk how and when and where permitted to receive or not receive what is needed to successfully recover . And further live a productive life

OMG your comment about patronizing is absolutely on point. I originally went to a group that had a therapeutic who told me over and over I wasn’t ready for what I thought should be next step, she would tell me you’re not ready , I finally said to her isn’t that what you’re supposed to be doing? Getting me ready?

My friend had a stroke and couldn't speak clearly. She also had difficulty swallowing. I thought of something that fixed all that in less than a day. No kidding. I brought her some Juicy Fruit gum, because it has real sugar and the syrupy secretions you get when chewing are easy to swallow. Chewing gum and rolling it around with your tongue is good exercise for your mouth and you have better control when speaking.

My first time viewing your webpage and found it to be quite interesting. Yes I’m a stroke patient since 2015 and has foot drop. Still not walking correctly. I also didn’t have an effective therapy experience. I’m still working at it and will not give up. What foot drop equipment you recommend since my 2015 stroke that’s would be effective???

I understand what you feel. I'm 57 years old also suffering from stroke disabilities but blessed to have a committed husband who helps me. If you still have your cognitive abilities, you are very blessed. I met many patients who can't even form heir sentences. I'll be praying for you. If you have money, try going to Dr. TOBInick in Florida. Maybe you can have a Healthcare professional to accompany you. God bless you on your rogress and journey. Fighting!
