I have never liked Nikki Sixx. I have always thought of him as a bottom of the barrel bass player. I have also never doubted Mick's claims about the band. They all intentionally screwed him.
I wondered why the chorus’s always sounded good.i saw them at Rockville 2 weeks ago and Vince sounded so-so but when the chorus kicked in he sounded great lol
Really didn't want to believe this. Downloaded the track, Ran it through my stereo and equalizer, Then played through my head Phones, Hoping that that's what I saw and heard on my tablet. Hoping it was just open string while cleaning the earwax out on stage. But after running it through my stereo. And equalizer and messing around with different settings. You can definitely hear that bass notes are being played. While he's got fingers in his ears. Trying to find his brain. Brittany Crue!
I've seen Motley Crue on their Girls Girls Girls tour and the Dr Feelgood tour and Vince's vocals were just as bad then as now. P.S. I also seen John live with The Crue and talk about a total badazz vocalist live!!!... Two thumbs way up high
Who cares ! I grew up playing and listening to these songs back in the 80s . I think it’s time for old those old folks need to hang it up. Only a few Rock Icon Bands left. KISS needs to hang it up. Paul and Gene just got more greedy with money and fame. They were never the same after Ace ,Peter lefted! Lots of groups that’s has a member leave or kicked out or passes, is never the same. There will never be an error of Rock N Roll or Heavy Metal like the 70s& 80s. Ever again. Like the True guitar gods who left us. Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhodes, Jimmy Hendrix, ect. If the controversy is at 0:18 there is no controversy. Sixx is playing. He hits a note then points to the crowd then hits the next note and points (this is the lead in to the "shout" chorus) then goes into the chorus bass line lick and you can see him looking at his left hand on the fret board. Not sure why he has to look as he has probably played this somg a million time and should be able to play it in his sleep. Their songs, especially the early stuff is not rocket science. There is another video where Tommy counts in the song and he is not hitting the symbols. For consistency for all members this is a recorded count in and is a good thing so they are all in synch at the correct BPM's when they start playing. There is no problem having a recorded count in. Every nite the song will be performed at the correct beats per min (BPM). Now the vocals are an entirely different animal for a much longer discussion. I am sure the backing vocals are recorded.
Nikki Sixx is a nobody in rock lore. He’s done. Has been. Worse than Vince Neil. Motley was held together by Mick Mars. Nikki Sixx doesn’t even know all of the bass chords ! He’s washed up.
Motley Crue have soiled themselves. Minus Mick Mars who was the only true musician in the band. Vince Neil is a whale, Nikki Sixx is washed up, Tommy Lee lost his way again, motley is nothing now. Nothing. They’re done. They’re a joke to rock and roll.
I would say, vince isnt using backing tracks because it would be to obvious and then draw attention to the others. The only one that hasnt been caught, is the one they're beating to the ground and trying to take what is rightfully his.
I’m not saying they don’t use backing tracks, but Nikki is playing that bass line. His picking hand is in time. Nothing he is doing is preventing him from playing that.

if people are gonna rip on bands for lip syncing Roger Water needs to right up there with Motley Crüe. He hasn't sang anything live since at least 2010. I don't think he was even playing the bass when he had it. He may have sang Mother and the 1st and 2nd verse's to Comfortably Numb, but that's about it. He wasn't using the album vocal tracks, they were live sounding, but not truly live.They must have recorded it in sections over time. I dunno how they did it but there's no way he was hitting those nut squeezing high notes live. The Wall show was still awesome though. I didn't care if he was singing live. I went to see the production of the wall being built, the projection, and it falling down at the end, not watch him sing.Concerts have become more about the visual spectacle than the legitimacy of them sining live. Not the small club and theater shows, but the big stadium spectacles.. The older artists that can't sing in the original key anymore drop a half or whole step. They're still legit giving their best. Poor Jon Bon Jovi can't even do that anymore. He can sing the verse, but the chorus's are to high for him now. I'd say his voice is in worse shape than Vinces.
I can’t believe this is actually an argument. Of course the bass is a backing track!! I’ve seen at least 20 clips where he’s not even close to playing. I don’t think it’s a secret anymore people. A terrible argument for something so obvious.
