Yea i know a guy who does sprinkler repair three trucks six Employees that get paid on 1099 and he makes all the money while his sons get screwed on 1099 and no wright offs ! lol who couldnt make huge profits 1099 all your workers what a scammer
And of course this content is the very cutting edge of what every lawn maintenance, landscape company, landscape designer, and snow removal company needs to not work eighty hour weeks and deliver on all promises.
Thanks, Roger. It’s not necessarily a new idea that small business owners, especially landscape contractors, don’t need to work 80 hours a week (forever) to be successful - but it’s definitely one worth repeating. I know a lot of guys who have been at it 30+ years… make a lot of money…. Have no real reason to work so much… but continue doing it out of fear
It is all about having a big pile of customers. Pricing power is found in the pile. You only get a big pile by being in business for a number of years. There should be a cost of rent on the P&L even if you own the building. So, the margins aren’t 50% but still good. I’ve not seen this guy at IA.
Yeah no shit! If you sell time machines and nobody knows about it then you’re screwed. It’s all about marketing. 50% net margins???….show me the numbers. Not the margins. My daughter sells lemonade at a 95% margin. She’s not retiring anytime soon. This is why you’re selling a scam.
Thank you, TroutFink! That’s great news that your daughter’s lemonade stand makes 95% margins. I initially thought that the net profit seemed high - but if you keep most of the work in-house with family (who may not all be in the P&L) AND also only focus on one highly specialized service, it’s possible.

Tell me what successful business opportunities you’ve been apart of that don’t include your “Buy my book and and you’ll be successful” scam? Its snake oil for the ignorant. I make 15% on what I sell and I expect to retire in four years. The cut better be larger vs what percentage you’re earning. You’re a Rich Dad Poor Dad scammer that’s duping people by faking it.
What a terrific interview! Some of the things I so appreciated while viewing were the "can do" attitude, the measurable benefits of using video for creative process improvements, and even a few of the specific how-tos about how to shoot them, and being reminded to just get started don't expect perfection. 10 minutes after watching the video, I'm still thinking about it. And I'm left wanting more! I guess that's the point of creating these videos, too. So thank you. I'm not a landscaper, but after watching this video, if I lived near Chester county and needed help, I'd seek out Turpin Landscaping. Jack, thank you for creating this terrific video.
I appreciate the effort and I really wanted to hear what he was saying about the bands and everything but I have to tell you , that music playing constantly and non-stop is the reason I didn't get past 11 minutes . The music was competing against what you both were saying ... it just was non-stop and I have to be honest it was irritating because it was non-stop .

You can block specific IP Addresses in your website host. We use Gravity Forms, which shows the IP address for each form fill. When someone spammy fills it out, we can then block them. Here's how with WP Engine: wpengine.com/resources/wordpress-block-ip/. You can also use something like WPMUDEV to block them from all of the sites you manage.
@@RamblinJackson we've already done this because we received the same phishing message as the one on your video. The only problem is that every few weeks this Melissa person changes IP and email/phone etc.
@@Dmoves I know - this one is particularly bad because I’m pretty sure it’s real humans filling out the forms. In some ways it’s hard to prevent. You can also block entire countries, or IP Addresses outside of the US which helps.
If people don't have a Gmail account, they're highly unlikely to create one to write a review for you. For this reason, I recommend that you also use a 1st Party Review tool, like GatherUp, which allows you to collect 1st party reviews on your own website WITHOUT them having to create a Google Account. To find Gmail account users, try sorting your database by email addresses ending in @gmail.com and prioritize reaching out to them.
