Pain sucks! My name is Dr. Carl Baird and I help adults 40+ solve chronic joint pain, keep active, and maintain their lifestyle as they get older. Over the course of my career I've seen firsthand the life changing impacts that strength training can have on people’s lives.
The truth is that too many adults are being limited by joint pain and being told ‘it’s part of getting older’. They’re living with pain that makes it hard to truly enjoy the beautiful world that we live in. My educational, strength based approach to medicine has helped 1000's of people worldwide maintain their lifestyle as they get older.
My mission has always been to help my community build the strength and confidence to live active, healthy and happy lives. I’m excited that you decided to start your strength training journey with me.
I hope my channel does for you what it’s done for so many people here in my clinic.
So just did light weight squats, only 205lbs and hurt my back. Was bracing my core and still hurt. Seeing a physical therapist. Could it be something else? I'm a personal trainer & have an extremely strong trunk. No idea why it hurt.
I just got off the phone with my 80-year-old healthy father who complained to me for the first time about pain in his joints, especially shoulders, hands, knees and hips, is there a supplement I can get for him to help ? Thank you so much
6:11 I have been getting mixed advice over doing Weighted Squats,Deadlifts, and Lunges while having knee arthritis. Please let me know if I can do all these exercises when I have knee arthritis. Thanks
Isometrics really bring out the weakness within you 😅😅😅... I thought doing 100 bodyweight squats was tough... Doing these get you tired after a few sets 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴
Hi. Your videos are so helping for people recovering from injuries. Thank you for posting such great videos. Could you please share a strength workout for people with both shoulder and knee injuries?
Ex-catcher through college who also has accumulated grade 2 tears in 2 ligaments in both knees (half my ligaments!) and really feeling worried about the future as I turn 40 and the lower back is even worse than the knee pain. I'm seeing some great ideas in this that I should adopt in my "try to set myself up to still be able to walk without a walker when I'm 80+" routine that I desperately need to figure out.
For back pain I recommend my patients the best possible combination of Kaishor, Yograj and Lakshadi Guggul along with most Planet Ayurveda's Joint Aid Plus.
I was recently having acute low back pain, X-ray showed degenerative disc disease L3-L4-L5 n having taken toradol injection n muscle relaxers still don’t feel Fully recovered. I’m glad I came across this video n will try these n hopefully should see improvements. Thanks again
Request =do's and don'ts for hip osteoarthritis. Just watched guy saying don't do the following exercises and sure enough I was recently taught TO DO those movements. How do I know whose advice I should follow? I don’t want hip replacement surgery if I can prevent getting to that point.
What is the window of time from the day of surgery to get to 120 degrees of flexion? I was told 6 weeks. I’m at 5 weeks and only at 108. And struggling daily to maintain it. I only had 85 degrees before surgery. I’m short 5’3 and I have to use a yoga strap. I can pedal a stationary bike for 5 minutes. Am I running out of time? Is the scar tissue coming back daily?
Thank you - this is so helpful! Question - should I be concerned with the crunchy sounds in my knees? I just recently had my first knee issue - swelling in one knee that I've rehabbed quite successfully (after getting a cortisone shot and drawing some fluid off it - had MRI that just showed arthritis + "possible meniscal tear" but dr. thought it was mainly just arthritis) - but my one leg flexes about 1" less muscle than the other so I'm trying to build quad/leg strength back. All these exercises are great - really helpful video thank you! --- but man, the crunching is so loud! Should I be concerned? Thx!
I have arthritis in both knees as well as my lower back. Id like to try these exercises are they safe for my back? Do you suggest doing them daily? Your channel is amazing by the way!
