My Dad had a B427 Red Seal Continental on a sawmill. I remeberhim sawing with that thing. It would bark under a load. This video brings back good memories of that!
And it can run in both directions, right? No need of a back gear..he. he.... I remember such Engines driving Fire Pumps. They had to run in a proper direction to achieve the pump efficiency.
Wrong. In order to change the engines rotation there are a number of parts that need to be changed. The Camshaft, starter, fuel pump, oil pump and water pump. The idler gear location is also changed. Yes they can start (bump start) in reverse but they will tear themselves apart in a short time
Like butter. I understand that the Kleiber Motor and Truck Co in San Francisco used these engines. I never even knew that SF ever had its very own automobile company until recently. Seems like there are a few of these motors around but just try and find a Kleiber. It's widely believed that only one of the sedans exists. Jay Leno is the proud owner.
