Family and I were just in Bolton Landing for our yearly vacation, we've been going there for years. Cool to see it all from the air! Always appreciate your videos as we miss the area throughout the year... our hearts remain in LG!
Thank you for posting this amazing video! As a new arrival to the area, I had no idea how large the place had been, or what it had looked like. What an amazing look at a piece of local history! I hope something returns to that property some day soon.
Just hiked through the Clay Meadows North West passage. It’s truly astounding in person. We were awe struck by how these giant trees were leveled. Very fun/dangerous to traverse too. Really glad to find this footage!
Great video, Tom! So much of the damage on Tongue we can't see, but with this, you can appreciate the severity and how the tornado bounced along. Crazy! Jim and Mary L.
When was this tornado, i had a scary experience in Greenfield Iowa, alot worse than this one. If it whiped out a town, why wasn't there debris and why did you add the sound of a tornado siren if you already had one why is there no rain, or thunder... This was a rope tornado, those trees next to the tornado would have been gone if this was a ef4 to ef5 tornado, so if this was real it did not wipe out a town it just took off shingles
We were camping on Floating Battery when it hit. It was very intense and we are very grateful we stayed safe!! Thank you for this footage-absolutely incredible to see from above. 🙏
Snakenado! Looks like Tongue mountain got hit. Love that area, we've been vacationing in Bolton Landing for years. Thanks for this great drone footage!
The vessel named **Ticonderoga** operated by the Lake George Steamboat Company had a storied history. Originally built in 1944 as a U.S. Navy ship, it was acquired by the Lake George Steamboat Company in 1949 and refitted for passenger use. The Ticonderoga (II) launched on Lake George in 1950 and served passengers until 1989. By the late 1980s, the vessel showed signs of aging, leading to its replacement by the Lac du Saint Sacrement. In 1993, the Ticonderoga (II) made its final voyage and was subsequently dismantled and sold for parts [oai_citation:1,History of the Lake George Steamboat Company: Part 6](www.lakegeorge.com/history/steamboat-co-1950-to-2017/) [oai_citation:2,Ticonderoga (steamboat) - Wikipedia](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticonderoga_(steamboat)) [oai_citation:3,Ticonderoga II - Wikipedia](en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ticonderoga_II) [oai_citation:4, A Short History of the Lake George Steamer Sagamore - - The Adirondack Almanack](www.adirondackalmanack.com/2015/08/short-history-lake-george-steamer-sagamore.html).
Wouldn't a very nice hotel with a rooftop restaurant, terrace, and bar - overlooking the river and the mountains of both the Adirondack foothills and the Green Mts. of VT - be a wonderful addition to the Glens Falls /Queensbury area!
Thank you for the great idea. The Queensbury Hotel is working on a Rooftop Experience. It might be too far away to see the falls, though. When Tom's cousin Peter bought his boat from me at Boats By George in 2005, he was still at the early stages of revitalizing many of the old buildings downtown. I tried to convince him to buy the Sawyers Building. This is right across the street from the Cool Insuring Arena, formally the Glens Falls Civic Center. Seen to the left/west at the 3:41 mark. My Concept was to make that a hotel and also have an enclosed walking bridge over to the arena. The purpose would be to coordinate and capture a few high-end conventions a year, along with just being a cool location for exactly what you said. I think I need to give Peter a call. 🤣❤
