Hi, my name is Thiagomii and this channel is exclusively dedicated to talking about video games, mostly retro, platformers, crossovers or fighting games. Within that category would be videos about the music of the games, discussion videos, reactions to game announcements and a big etcetera. But you can help the channel by contributing ideas for future videos as well. Let's keep growing!
I didn't know this soundtrack is inspired from Mira E by Kiroro 00:24 - Chorus (1/4) Hora Ashimoto wo mitegoran 00:29 - Chorus (2/4) - 00:28 Kore ga anata no ayumu michi 00:35 - Chorus (3/4) - 00:34 Hora, mae wo mitegoran 00:40 - Chorus (4/4) Are ga anata no mirai 00:45 - Outro
Some copycat from Mira E by Kiroro. The name is Sayang by Via Vallen from Indonesia. 00:24 - Chorus (1/4) Sayang Opo kowe krungu 00:29 - Chorus (2/4) - 00:28 Jerit e atiku Mengharap engkau kembali 00:35 - Chorus (3/4) - 00:34 Sayang Nganti memutih rambutku 00:40 - Chorus (4/4) Ra bakal luntur tresnoku 00:45 - Outro
Max is partially right, it *does* have a Donkey Kong sound but in the other way. The Follin Bros worked with and were an inspiration to David Wise who did the soundtrack to Donkey Kong Country.
I played the Sega Mega Drive version of Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge. The game plays basically the same as the SNES version, but... The soundtracks were sadly not handled by the Follin Brothers, and as a result, they sound significantly worse, rather than just being different. Max would just reassure his belief on the Mega Drive having dogshit sound, when in fact, it's just way different. I kinda wish he'd do this kind of stream one more time to explore someone like Jesper Kyd's early career or the Japanese games on the Mega Drive, like Streets of Rage and Beyond Oasis. Yeah, I watch his RU-vid channel where his streams are edited to have a nicer pace than a live stream.
I can't believe this happened.... RIP Geoff Follin, you did some of the best retro tunes ever, you would be remembered as the legend that you are. I feel so bad for Tim right know, I hope for the best to him and Geoff's family.
I had just came back to check this video out randomly and this is the first I've seen of the news.. That's incredibly sad to hear, all the best to the family and friends of Geoff Follin. Rest in peace to a legend.
The most amazing thing to me is how *full* these tracks sound no matter what hardware they’re played on. The Follin NES experience makes everything else on the system sound like a 1998 ringtone. The Ducktales moon theme is like a single wayward harmonica compared to Silver Surfer’s heavy metal power trio.
Tim Follin's music tended to be more arpeggio progressive and folk based instead of melodic lines like trationally formed music you might typically hear in say Rob Hubbard or of course Koji Kondo. It's likey one of the reasons he doesn't especially rate it because while it's very impressive at a technicall level, it's probably seen by him as a little throwaway from a lack of true identity to these still arpeggio lines. His more modern stuff with film is where he's really at in terms of his music talent I would say personally but there's never been an issue for him to write standout material. Very talent
