I'm so sorry you've not felt well. Your meals all looked very nice in spite of that. In fact, you've inspired me to make some quesadillas this week. For some reason, I often forget how easy and good they are.
Oh, thanks for the idea of putting leftover pork into a wrap. I just made some garlicky pork, roasted 'till it fell apart, kind of carnita style. I will freeze leftovers for tacos, but also wraps. Nice to change things up. Thank you for the time and care you put into making these videos.
Your pork dinner looks amazing! It reminds me I have a tub of garden-grown green beans that need to be cooked as well. I've never heard of pastina - it looks like soup meets mac & cheese.
I love snack dinner! It means I don't have to turn on a stove or oven and no pans to wash after❣ Also, yes, homemade french fries, they are my favorite (and I needed to use up some very very sad looking potatoes)
Love a good snacky meal, that looks delicious! What would we eat on the regular if there were no such thing as Mexican food or pasta?? Chicken fajitas are my go-to. Seeing your pasta dishes inspires me to try making a pasta salad for this week's meal prep. Have a great Sunday!
Love the idea to put the flavored soft cheese in the pasta! I just snagged a bunch of garlic/herb Laughing Cow cheese on a great deal, so will definitely plan to use some this way, thanks! It's nice to see people using their leftovers. So many don't, which is always kind of shocking to me, but I maybe with today's grocery prices, more people are making an effort to use it up. That would be one positive for the current crazy economy, lol. Happy Easter!
Thanks so much! @ellypear on instagram has a whole series called rollover leftovers. It really shifted the way I look at bits and bobs in the fridge that need using up. Also, every time I have to throw food away I look at my husband and say something like "well, there is $4.99 we can't spend on our next vacation". Annoying...probably, impactful....seems to be🤣
Great haul, lots of healthy stuff in there. I hope things work out for you to stay employed, Times are so uncertain in every way right now, and food security is a good way to combat the worries that can creep in. LOL on the martini mix, atta girl!! 🍸🍸🍸 I'm a frizzy-haired girl these days - didn't used to be, it's very frustrating to spend an extra $10/mo on taming products, but better than than dandelion mode, lol. Have a great weekend!
You are great using things up!! The pork carnitas look amazing! I'm happy to know other people are slow getting through their holiday chips, lol. I love appetizers for dinner, it always makes me think of that Cher movie, lol. I talked myself out of buying a pint of mushrooms at Aldi on Friday because they always end up in my freezer.
LOL - I feel the same way! Now that my daughters are out of the house, there isn't as much of a chip influx, but I still have a basket full, which I really need to purge this weekend!@@RobinsRoost
All of your meals looked delicious! Seeing the sauteed spinach & orzo dinner reminds me I have a bag that needs using up, so I think I'll sautee most of it today. I love a good chicken Caesar wrap - especially at the beach! 🏖 Now that I'm an empty nester, at least one night a week my go-to dinner is a little charcuterie plate. I always put in a couple olives 🫒🫒 (Aldi, bleu cheese-stuffed, yum). I'll have to look at the TJ's olive selection next time I go, thanks for the idea! ❤🫒🧀 Have a blessed Sunday!
Absolutely check out the grilled olives next time you are at Trader Joe's. They are delicious! Blue cheese stuffed olives are reserved for martini time :)
I hope the collective impact of the Jan/Feb pantry challenge low-shopping across the U.S, helps bring down the grocery prices a little . . . the whole supply/demand thing. Even if it's just a few pennies, that would be great.
The challenge has certainly given me better insight into what and how much food we really need on hand. I think I can use that to adjust our over all grocery spending. But gosh, if food prices could come down a little that would be the icing on the cake!
Love your wall of pantries, and they're so organized! I have only one pantry cabinet, but it's very deep so I can get a lot of stuff in there - I just can't see it without shuffling, lol. Have a blessed Sunday!
Thanks so much for the kind comment! I wish I understood RU-vid better. Lately, I've been getting video suggestions for vlogs that are months old for channels I follow instead of they more recent postings.
I like the idea of lightly crushing the croutons so they're not such a huge block. Your chocolate mousse pie made my mouth water! 😋 The nachos were so pretty, I don't think I'd notice there wasn't any meat on the first round. Looking forward to your next video, and hearing how you wrapped up January.
Thanks so much for the lovely comment! I got the idea to crush my croutons from my favorite restaurant. They would toast up panko with fresh herbs and seasonings to top their salads. I'm not going to put that much effort into a Monday night salad, but I will bang a rolling pin over some store bought croutons😆
Who doesn't love mac & cheese? I like to add leftover chopped ham to the M&C for extra flavor and protein. We're a small family, so there is always leftover ham, lol.
Hi Robin, I just found your channel when this video popped into my feed. All your meals look delicious, and I love your recipes & food-pics! I'm doing the 3R,pantry challenge too, so had to sub!
Thank you so much! Headed over to your channel now to see your pantry challenge. I find it so inspiring how we all have such different pantry stock and yet we all are able to turn out such comforting meals for families of all sizes!
Easiest party snack ever - a block of cream cheese with salsa generously poured over it, with tortilla chips to dip. Maybe that will help you use it up!
Oh, I didn't know they were in Oklahoma. I order these from Savory Spice in Raleigh NC. I discovered their store while on a trip visiting family. I always over shop when I visit there store or put together an online order which is why my cabinets are over flowing :)
The extra spices, especially any “specialty” spices … mixed spices, etc… REALLY good on popcorn… not the bagged microwaved butter popcorn, but “natural” popped popcorn (of course, ours is done in the microwave in a silicone bowl thingy with a silicone lid & some oil 🤣). Also, the spices can be used with stir fry veggies as well.
That is brilliant! We do have a whole container of popcorn kernels (air popped is our favorite). I can't wait to try this for movie night! I bet the mac and cheese seasoning would be fab!
I'm very excited about being able to freeze the cream cheese. I have one brick in the freezer now just as a trial run. My fingers are crossed for this!
@@RobinsRoostif you freeze it, you would use it in soups or something hot, it’s got a different texture once it’s been frozen. Still good, but you wouldn’t use it on a bagel if you know what I mean.
