I was that student that sat in the back of the classroom bored out of mind, frustrated & not understanding what the teacher was saying. I struggled learning math but in the pursuit to earn my degree, I learned a lot of what it takes to not only absorb the material, but be successful in class. This channel is all about sharing those experiences with you to get you on your path to success. I teach math from the perspective of the struggling student because that was me & it could be you, too. My videos are short, to-the-point and cover everything from Algebra 1 through Calculus. I have a ton of content to share with you & hope you find them useful in whatever class you are taking!
We’re reviewing factoring and this man has saved my life multiple times, he knows grouping, gcf and this cubing factoring. The internet will explain it in a lengthy manner but Brian will easily explain it in under 2 minutes. He does the lords work 🙏🏻
We have created a false meritorious system with grades. And to take this away from the subject of just Math. Many years ago, I taught a population where many of the parents had never had more than basic reading, history, etc... A large group of the grandparents had no organized formal education whatsoever. The students most often struggled and rapidly fell behind their peers who had the benefit of parents who could assist in the school work. The school system had no mechanism or resources to offset this and, precisely because the system elevated the importance of even just one grade (for example, eligibility for sports or other extra curricular programs) and even punished through public humiliation, those that got a poor grade, the public schools rapidly divided the population (and this included many teachers) into "gifted," "average", and "poor" students. Instead of mechanisms that might have helped offset the advantage their peers who had parents who knew the material and could help them, the bad grade put them in a situation where they got even less education. So when they say I need this grade, that is because we the system have inflated the importance of an individual grade. And when they say, "I am just not good at...," they quite possibly are lacking support at home that would help them. And this is just an over simplification of the complexities that they face if they get a low grade. (and there also are such strong myths about the importance of grades, that some sub-cultures have absorbed it and to them a C represents failure).
His wrong 80th is 186+188/2 = 187 20th is 170+174/2= 172 Because we got 2.2 on the 20th percentile you supposed round up and down leading you to the the 2nd and 3rd number, same with 80th❤
Great message! Thank you for your commitment and sharing your knowledge for all to revert to when it counts. I appreciate the lecture videos and I hope your back pain subsides outside this message as well.
