I love the Atlas! I’ve had a 3 row version, 4 cylinder and a 6 cylinder with 5 passenger seating. I do like the 3 row seating version better. More space! But the 6 can pull a trailer or something? Both were SE versions. But the 3 row version, to me, looked better in appearance ! Like your version the steering wheel does have the shinny surfaces. Apposted to the flare appearance of the wheel! Plus the grill is chromed where the 5 passenger version doesn’t have the chrome appointments.
Rad. Just bought an 06 Lexus GX470 and have "the clunk." There's an inexpensive replacement drive shaft for the faulty original, i saw on youtube. But if greasing it solves the clunk, that's even cheaper. Great video... I'll do this tomorrow and report back on whether or not the clunk goes away. Thank you!
Update: greased it up. Made it 300 miles home from a road trip. No clunks until my driveway. I thought I had it fixed! Looks like I'm in for the new and improved driveshaft for $197 at partsgeek.
Thanks for the video! Went to grab some tools under my bench seat today and the entire storage compartment was full of water. Looks to be an easy fix though!
Well done my friend with a myriad of good suggestions. I awas considering a GX 1st gen. I have a 3rd gen 4 Runner which is a less fancy less powerful sibling. Iwas thinking about the GX as a step up from my V6 4R. After seeing the video I now would not get rid of it. The low mpg of the GX is an issue. My V6 has never gotten less than 20 mpg unless it was all city stop and go. Hwy at less than 70 is 23-24. I have done all the maintenance . no rust at 260K and no oil burning. Not an interference engine. Gxs with VVTI(2005 and up) are. I stole mine from an estate that didn't know or care about the value. Thank you.
Thanks for the vid. I had I leak in mine but thought it was the car wash people. Why don’t they just permanently seal those, like weld or glue them shut. Why do we need vents back there being an off road vehicle? Curious
Looking for low mileage can also lead to scams. That's what happened to me.. I overpaid for a gx470 that had been rolled back from 250k to 91k. The seller even had a fake carfax ready. Checking the lexus website and carfax myself led to the truth, but it was too late for me.
Do you possibly have the link as to where you got the new sensor? Or atleast the serial number of it or something. Becuase I don’t want to get the wrong one. Thank you.
Dealer wants me to change on my 2021 atlas bought in august 2021 46k miles Spark plugs Transmission flush Coolant flush Haldex service for rear differential Brake fluid change Is all this necessary??
we have a 2018 atlas, it's been 6 years with 74k miles on the clock, the only issue we had was the water pump and got fixed under warranty, the main problem for us are the brakes and rotors. the size of the brakes and the rotors are not meant for a car this big and heavy. other than that we've been driving it to all the way to south of FL from NOVA on road trips and other states that at least 16 hours long trips. no problems so far.
Incorrect. Had this car for four years and lifted it in the last 8 months of owning it, has nothing to do with it. The noise was fixed by vw long before that.
Just got mine. Love the video.. probably overpaid for mine.. well maintained 230k miles for 8k but had to put 1.5k for detail, timing belt and some small things
Thank you much for this video! Mine has a small leak and I am sure this what I need to do. But any way this will help me out on my RAM. (Its not a Dodge any more since 2009). 😛
My friend bought the same car, same year. And he no longer occupies it. He is offering it to me in payments but I am having doubts about the miles. It has about 140,000 miles. Do you think it's a lot? What do you think about that?
I got one with 150k miles and honestly it runs so good. Do a check on engine and transmission. If they are ok then go for it. Other parts are easily fixed and dont cost much.
I know this is old but even if u get bigger 18 inch wheels certain 18 inch wheels are wayyyyy lighter then those stock wheels i have the same car and our stock wheels are over 23 pounds each that really kills fuel economy !! Sum 18 inch rims only 17-18 pounds each
I just bought one of these with 96k on the clock - having no experience with AWD systems. The 8 speed has some weird shift points, but it drives pretty well.
