If you filter for our playlists - you'll be able to see all the different courses on the channel. Here's the Negotiation course: ru-vid.com/group/PLA8H2mpO8cpfkocmJ-_TabOFhRIV7JciW&si=t2kzQJ3KLETSzYxh
Main concern is role play and practice, in person case role play mediation is very different from studying text. It takes a long time and practise to feel confident when mediating actual cases with real people who are struggling with conflict. Also is it Mii approved.
Thanks for the comment. You're absolutely right, conducting 'in-person' role play is very different from studying text and I'd also agree that it does take time to gain the confidence and skill to mediate. This programme goes into much greater depth than a typical 40/60hour mediation training. You'll learn learn about the root causes and effects of conflict, dispute theory and analyse the role of communication in driving and resolving conflict. You will also learn about the myriad of alternative dispute resolution processes and methods, and the core skills of negotiation. You'll go into great depth and study the theory and process models of mediation, and explore the range of mediation skills and competencies. Furthermore you'll also learn the practice of mediation through the lens of a dynamic and evolving regulatory framework, addressing the current laws and ethics that govern the process and practice as well as the rapidly increasing role of technology in mediation, including online mediation, and semi-automated processes. You won't be studying text, you'll be learning from the leading experts in mediation and dispute resolution both academic and practice. Our experts bring an international focus as well as a domestic one. There are case study simulations and many more modes of learning. If however you're looking specifically for a 'mediation training programme' then I'd suggest heading over to our website here for information about our internationally accredited commercial mediation programme, we run them in Dublin and London. www.mediatoracademy.com/accredited-commercial-mediation-training/dublin
Hi, I have seen many videos of your channel, your videos are very nice but your channel has some deficiencies like keyword research, thumbnail SEO, video file SEO, description SEO and video title research, these are more likely to get top rank for videos and get likes, comments, shares on videos, through which Hughes Organic subscribers come in handy
This is a very exciting moment for me hearing about one of the best University in the world offering a life changing opportunity for many and granting us the privilege to learn beyond the walls of a classroom. Is it possible to learn not just online but on site? I wish to be given a full scholarship to get my LL.M, Please I'll appreciate it if I can be granted his rare privilege.
This is a highly informative video honestly I’d like to commend the efforts of the individuals that went into it. What I’d like to know is what are the opportunities this would bring to a student that would complete this course besides great networking opportunities
Glad you enjoyed it! Opportunities to work in the field of dispute resolution more broadly are growing so whether you intent to go into legal practice or not, this LLM would provide a launchpad into a number of fast-gorwing areas.
It will be a great opportunity for me to further my education at your University especially on Alternative Dispute Resolution being an area which I have developed key interest in and to have it with such an esteemed institution would mean alot to me 😊
It is an indisputable fact that the Singapore convention gave eminence to international mediation. This course will go a long way for ADR practitioners especially mediators Inspiring Ma
This is an amazing opportunity for me to further my career. This would give me a significant boost in my career path although I don't think it would be so easy. How can I find amazing career opportunities with the knowledge in mediation?
The university career support team help with this. We're also seeing new opportunities emerging particularly across international NGO's, UN, World Bank etc. Domestic legislation is shifting to recognise the value mediation brings to reducing court backlogs, improving access to justice and achieving less adversarial outcomes. Mediation is 📈 🚀 🔥
It stands for Qualified Lawyers Transfer Scheme. It's a professional exam that allows qualified lawyers from certain jurisdictions outside of England and Wales to become solicitors in England and Wales. It's compulsory if you want to practice law in the UK but not necessary for this LLM.
In the UK a 2:1 honours degree is also known as an upper second-class degree. In the US it's is equivalent to a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. Think of it as a "B" average which is considered to be a strong academic performance. In India, it's equivalent to a "first class" or "high first class" bachelor's degree.
That's a great question. Gaining a post graduate degree (LLM) will no doubt enhances one's chances of employment. But I suspect what you're asking is will the LLM entitle you to work in the UK? Is that right?
@@Mediatoracademy I will complete my llb in 2023. Suppose if I take your course online and move to Uk, will I get employment? Can I practice anything there with this llm?
@@meghana_rimy Great questions. The answer to your first one will depend obviously on visa requirements and of course the type of employment you are seeking and to what extent your skills, attributes and qualifications are suited to the role. That aside, Newcastle University is part of the Russell Group of universities here in the UK with an excellent reputation nationally and internationally, so a postgraduate degree from NU will be highly regarded. In the first instance, there are numerous funded research opportunities in this field if that were of interest. The skills and knowledge gained from this LLM will also open doors into other dispute resolution roles, of which we are seeing an increasing number advertised. The other key differentiator with this LLM is that it comes with an internationally recognised professional accreditation in commercial mediation. I wish I could be more specific but you'll certainly have many options. Lastly Newcastle University have an outstanding employability record and the employment team work hard to help students identify suitable opportunities. I would urge you to contact the law school directly if you were considering this - they are very responsive and helpful. Wishing you every success with your LLB.
@jayprakashsinghvi7343 thanks, great question. The skills and knowledge gained from this LLM will also open doors into other dispute resolution roles, of which we are seeing an increasing number advertised. To practice law in the UK however you will need to site further exams - we have a post coming out soon on this and also a video so please do subscribe to keep updated. You can do so on www.mediatoracademy.com/newcastle-university-llm The key differentiator with this LLM is that it comes with an internationally recognised professional accreditation in commercial mediation (accredited by the International Mediation Institute). So you'll be entitled to practice as a commercial mediator in London or anywhere else on the planet! Newcastle University have an outstanding employability record and the employment team work hard to help students identify suitable opportunities. I would urge you to contact the law school directly if you were considering this - they are very responsive and helpful.
Hi Ayushi, I'd recommend checking out the University website for the latest on scholarship information. Last year there were 6 partially funded scholarship places offered (£3K each), all merit based. The fees for international and home students are the same, which is another added benefit. This information is likely to be updated each year, which is why I'd recommend visiting: www.ncl.ac.uk/postgraduate/degrees/5890f/ where you'll find more info on the programme and also contact details for scholarship applications. Shout if you've got more questions. 🤓
I have only recently discovered Ken Cloke and greatly appreciate what he says. His profound wisdom is deeply rooted in empathy. He has great values which often shine through, including humility, a genuine wish to understand and patience. I am not a mediator but his explanations make total sense and feel right. I think in today's polarized world it would be hugely valuable if many more people knew about this. Imagine a world in which children and teenagers learned this kind of conflict understanding/approach in school...💫💛 Thank you for sharing this video. And a blessing to everyone who is working to reduce conflict in the world.
