the other day i walked into my room expecting belle to be curled up on my bed, loudly purring away as siamese cats do. i dont know why, we lay her to rest almost a year ago; funny how greiving throws curveballs at you man. god, i know i dont usually open up online but i miss her so fucking much. she was myt baby and i loved her. i can't put it into words the kind of loss i feel
Everyone saying this is better than U2's version. 1. It's not. 2. This is how U2 performs it live the last 20 years or so. 3. This version is basically the heartbroken crying in your room at night version. 4. U2's original version is the heartbroken while walking the streets at night version. They're both great. This version is simply different, not better.
My cat just had a brain aneurism on Friday, and it feels like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. I still can't imagine how life is supposed to go on without her.
Alright cover. My mother got me into U2. I love this band. Im 30. When I was a kid we saw the pop tour in Canada, it was incredible. Love this band. Love my momma. Peace, Mikey
I can't listen to this song without crying. My cat was hit by a car recently and this song makes me wish I could pet his little face one last time. I miss you Noodles <33
I love you so much Eskeleto, I dedicate this song to you. You are my world, I’ll see you again someday I know it. I always feel your presence with me. I miss you. 🐾❤️
I know this is for a cat, but earlier this week my dog of 16 years was put down. This song really helped me to feel less alone, like I'm not the only one in pain.

You squint your eyes and look inside you and the fractions and fragments all become whole. The music erases the pain in your soul, the tears in your brain that your memory saved , evaporate and skate away.
One of the reasons would be because the song works better as a stripped back acoustic. Just check out U2's live version.......this is probably why Bono almost always perform the song live acoustically. They most certainly know the true strength of the song.
As someone who was a huge fan of the film, I thought this was the better version over U2's. It just feels so heavy with emotion and it has this bittersweet feel that fits in with the tone of the film.
@Randy Steven Consuegra Ortega U2 wrote the song for a film called Faraway So Close, its a sequel to Wings Of Desire which was remade as City Of Angels.
me as a U2 fan prefers the flyleaf cover because it sets the lyrics in is place the way she sings it is so emotional. probably one of the few covers I'd prefer over the original.
Wow! Really? Alrighty then...to me, something is lacking compared to the original...i think the emotion does quite reach the same peak as it does when Bono and the boys knocked it out. Oh well, we cannot all agree.
