2020 Jeep Gladiator is what we are all about, thats why are are called the Gladiator Gang.
We have over 11,000 DRIVING MILES on our Jeep Truck, and 2,400 of those miles were with our head Jeep Expert (and Co-Founder of JEEPKHANA) Greg Henderson (Unofficial Use Only) towing 8,000 pounds from Detroit, Michigan down to Panama City Beach, Florida and back in about 3 and a half days. We had 3 adult men, a racing lawn mower and an amazing 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ which was custom converted to a truck, known as FrankenBrute.
Towing all this weight down there and back through the mountains, it did very well, averaging about 10.5MPG.
We have been working on a new project for the Gladiator Rubicon: JEEPKHANA Gladiator Build Series. We've done everything from mild off-roading, rocking crawling, donuts, J-Turns, Drifting and even 4x4 burnouts while being hooked up to a 1971 Deuce and a Half, stay tuned as we work hard to release more videos.
@@charleswhitlock5238 thanks, it’s been over 5 years I’ve had it now. Had some minor issues. Rear axle needed to be replaced and something to do with the cams. Axle they didn’t cover under warranty the cams they did.
Yes. 76,000 miles. New rear axle a couple years ago, replaced the cams and few other minor issues. Overall it’s been pretty impressive. Had it 5 years as of 4/26
What is your wheel spec? I’m going to order some dirty life wheels for my rubicon gladiator. I currently am running black rhinos with a 0 offset but dirty life has a -12 offset. The wheel and tire set up on your rubicon looks killer for it being on stock suspension!!
It’s nice to have, but I rarely use it. It’s going on 5 years in April! Might do a 5 year review. It’s beat up now. Let it run for 28 hours in 80-95+ degree weather in the summer 🤣
Sitting in it right now, ran over a fire hydrant about 2 months ago, steering wheel it’s 1/4 turn to the left driving straight dash is lit up line a Christmas 🎄 Tree. It’s wild, but holding up!
I’m torn between getting a rubicon or Mojave or overland.. I just want a daily that I can take off road here and there. Small lift and nice set of wheels
Awesome glad to hear, it’ll be 4 years as of next month that we’ve had it! It’s been wild, the roof flew off a couple years ago 😆 all good, little smashed along the bottom.
The total ignorance of jeep engineers who ignored what worked for yrs in jeep and put in crap like a faulty windshield defroster and crappy corrosion inhibitor is beyond incompetent, it is criminal. Any under power and poor mpg issue is equally ridiculous at this time with all the advancements in fuel monitoring technology
There's a whole lot to towing. Its not just pulling, but STOPPING that everyone forgets about. This id s midsize truck, not a one ton. What do you drive?
That’s the OG GG hat, only one left and it flew off and was ran over so it’s in rough shape 😆 other one flew off on our way down to Panama City Beach for Jeep Week in 2019.
@@frankheath1071 we had newer versions made, but they’re sold old. We do have a lot of stickers still if you want some. We obviously haven’t been very active with social media. Just got the Gladiator running again as of Friday, haven’t driven it since DECEMBER!
The roof flew off going roughly 97MPH anyway and is pretty smashed along the bottom on backside along the cab by the bed. Could care less what the hoist looked like, it worked. Thanks for the feedback, some people want to see cheap options.
Not sure if it’s said somewhere in the comments, but if you have your phone plugged in and using waze like such, it will always read the same thing your dash does.. if I plug mine it with my 22 Mojave and 35’s it read identical but if you unplug and just use your phone and gps mine is 5mph off which is the same thing a speed trap reads
Great point, and back when this was filmed, no didn’t know that. But learned this about a year ago and guessing most others are unaware as well. Thanks. But also, the speedometer is calibrated with the Tazer so it should be very close. Although the 37’s are on it now and it hasn’t been updated now that you mention it LOL. Although I haven’t driven the truck since DECEMBER. It’s been sitting in a parking lot, long story. But should be driving it again by October hopefully. Nothing like paying $899/month for something to sit dormant!
Yes obviously regearing would help, but lot of people don’t want to or won’t see the ROI. Plus they want to see what stock does, thanks for the feedback, haven’t driven the truck since LAST YEAR! Long story, but should be back on the road in a couple weeks hopefully 🙏
I understand and get it, bigger tires = more $$$, but was just letting you know why you werent getting to 8th gear. By not re gearing, it puts a bigger load on your engine, especially if you're driving on freeway alot.the "ROI" is protecting the engine
That sucks, I have beat the hell out of mine and no issues yet except had to replace the rear axle, it was completely blown out. They said you could grab the driveshaft and move it all over there was nothing left barely!
Hey thanks, you wouldn’t believe how much time and work it takes to make a video like that. Haven’t driven the Gladiator since December 😆 hopefully have it back on the road within the next couple weeks…
Hah. Gas is now $5/gallon. Still for everything the Rubicon offers, it’s quite reasonable. People that want to compare this to full size trucks or even mid-sized trucks, just don’t get the Jeep factor. Does a tonneau help or hinder your gas mileage.
$49 and a whole lot of extra work when I got an $85 Badlands 2,500lbs wrench that came with a wireless remote on sale for $68, a 100ft nylon rope, an 8ft 2x12 and a handful of nuts and bolts. I used my drill to bolt it all together, slapped all that above my joists in the garage, and bam! A powered wench hoist that supports more than 10x the weight of the hard top for the low price of about $95. Way easier and quicker than this.
been into rally for a long time, that's why I got a wrx. ive taken her out to the mountains in the snow mud and dirt jumped her. but my dad got a diesel gladiator and wants me to do all the work to it. I said only way ill do that is if I get to take it off-roading and enjoy it. in the next few months I can't wait to go up to the mountains here and go climbing. before I had an fj cruiser and a 4runner both lifted. miss doing dumb shit in those old trucks lol.
