In all honesty I have to give you credit I'm avid fan of Demon Slayer, and you want to first RU-vidrs who diligently have done their homework on this particular title. You did a damn good job.
I remember this aired in Australia on tv and some scene in it had a soldier stabbing someone. That same week on the news someone got stabbed in real life and the news tried to blame it on violence in tv shows including specifically 'Space Above and Beyond'. It was canned from free to air not long after. Utter bullshit. This was the begining of woke cancel culture bullshit in the late 90s

In reality there are two Star Trek universes because of the corporate division of CBS and Paramount. TOS and the TNG universe are seperate from the stuff that came later like Discovery. Unfortunetly they (Kurtzman et al) started violating many of these rules. For example, the ridiculous mushroom drive in STD. Now that Paramount is sold, maybe the ST universe can be put back to they way it used to be where it followed rules properly

The last best Star Trek was Star Trek Enterprise! Discovery, Strange New Worlds, and the second season of Picard are just too woke, and poorly written boring snore fests! As long as Star Trek, Doctor Who, and Star Wars stay woke they can go broke!
Dumbest plot in the history of film. These guys have their heads out in space their so pumped up, and have no idea as to what's happening down here. You have space age tech, obvious fusion power mastery for space travel, but your going to a planet, that has the perfect conditions for growing crops, so you can steal their grain, farmed by humans..... oh..... so beyond fusion power, they also have advanced a.i. Just let those 3 blend for a while. If you can't see anything wrong with that than ill add another tick onto the hopeless bar for humanity.
There’s a few great books about Star Trek and Post-Scarcity Economics. It boils down to a combination of barter-trade-gift and a meritocratic waiting list for resources. If you want your own ship for example, anyone can have one but if you’re being picky or impatient you may need some friends in high places or maybe a personal history in Starfleet. Restaurants don’t charge for their food because they’re being ran by people who love the work and have no overhead because they in turn were given the property by the government in order to run a restaurant.
Oddly enough, I agree with all these except for "Defying Gravity." I never heard of it. I'll have to watch it now. 🤓 Some comments about the other shows. Almost Human - It was shown out of order? Maybe that's why I lost interest after 4 episodes. I'll have to re-watch it. The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. - Great series. I got the DVD years ago. Favorite line "Thanks for the donut, Dunkin." Crusade - A good follow-up to Babylon 5 except it had a giant space pee-pee as the spaceship. 😉 Caprica - "All the marketing had the actress naked with an apple." That is my strongest memory of that show!
This show was awesome. And it still is. This was on Showtime in the U.S. I watched it along with Stargate SG-1. I’ve been rewatching them both on Prime. Along with Chuck, Eureka, and Coupling.
rule 4, I play and watch people play the game space engineers, where you can be in space and make your own space ships and space stations. I find myself changing my left-right plane, to compensate for the z axis. in other words, ill turn my ship to get rid of the third dimension, so to make it easier for my brain to approach another ship or station.
How did I know this was going to be Lexx… the only sci fi show with a musical, living chess, a devil reborn as an advisor to the president, a cage fight with a Mummy and Tim Curry as a hologram trying to preserve you in slices… Also Eva Habermann was absolutely gorgeous.
I almost forgot one made for TV movie called Highlander. The source, yeah sucked royally sucked, and basically shot the law of the Highlander and the immortals and straight in the ass. Almost as bad as Highlander.2 the movie. Terrible you look at the character of Duncan McLeod and this one compare it to what we saw in the series and then Highlander endgame it’s just not the same. Same actor, horrible writing just the whole thing was just Kaka. crap, cow manure need I expand further. There’s probably a reason why it’s on Freeview with tons of ads. They knew no one would actually pay to watch it. And that’s sad because I think it was supposed to be maybe the clothes to the series, but I kind of figured we did that with endgame. endgame had one of the best villains with Jacob Kells. And then they give us Highlander the source. I think it was just a money crab much like a second movie. Did nothing for Advance the story of the Highlanders. But if you want 100% watch every Highlander out there, you will have to include Highlander, the source and Highlander, the Raven, the Raven is better than Highlander source is pretty low.
In addition to the tip that the narrator gives you of skipping the movies and going straight to the TV series I’d like to give any view or who’s wanting to get into Highlander this tip. The movie themselves are really good except for number two and as he says at the beginning, we will totally ignore that one. It’s kind of like the Ghostbusters 2016 of Highlander lol There’s also a TV series that I personally would avoid. You may like it, but it wasn’t touched on in this. In addition to the movies and Highlander the TV series there was also a second spinoff series. It was called Highlander the Raven it was mediocre Best. Your protagonist was a female, but that’s not what made it mediocre. The gentleman that they pair her up with in the show there’s no chemistry there. And Highlander, the TV series Duncan McLeod had tons of chemistry with Tessa in the first couple of seasons. He had chemistry with Richie, who eventually became a mortal himself. And he would have chemistry with me Dawson. However, in Highlander, the raven, there’s just no chemistry there between the main stars. The show never seems to jail. It hits all the tropes of the series and the Lord, but it’s just as I said mediocre Best. That’s my personal opinion you may like it. And at one time if you bought the entire series of Highlander, the TV show Highlander. The Raven was also included in it. I don’t know if that is even still imprints as far as , the box is concerned. But I thought I would mention Highlander Raven because it is out there. There’s also Highlander animated series Where the main protagonist is a teenager by the name of Quentin McLeod. As far as I know that covers all of the series that are available. They all have their merits, including Highlander, the Raven. Highlander the animated series is set and a dystopian future so it’s not really connected with the other series in anyway aside from the protagonist name, and the fact immortal . They still use swords obviously lol But as I said, those are all the series so if you really want to get in the Highlander, those are the things to see. And again, don’t waste your time with Highlander 2 the movie. I don’t know what they were thinking when they made that movie. It turned the immortals into aliens and all the silly crap that’s why we don’t consider it canon.
The one thing I thought was kind of interesting about the whole Highlander series is that most of these people claim to be God-fearing people. But in situation, such as Connor McLeod being healed after the battle, they automatically assumed it was the work of the devil. It didn’t seem like they even thought that it could be a miracle of God. It was the same way with Duncan McLeod and there are countless other immortals that this is happened to. Why is it? Do you think that No one, assume that it was a miracle of God, but went straight to that it was Lucifer’s as the woman says and the original Highlander movie.
The one thing I noticed from the TV show is that if there are three immortals one takes the other ones head, the quickening will only go to the one who took the head. The third immortal will just be more of a spectator. It’s like the quickening knows who it’s supposed to go to.
As poor as the on-world scenes were, with mostly unknown actors, at least to me, I thought this was great. I was working in a video store when Space: Above and Beyond, the movie, more precisely, a made for tv movie, landed on our shelves. I bought a copy as a lark, and loved it. I was very disappointed when no more appeared. Only decades later I discovered the first season on a compact disc. This too was perfect fodder for me, and again I was disappointed that no more was forthcoming. A pity really, there is so much that can be done to improve on the original material.
I love the show. Well. In a way. For me, Lexx is the distilled essence of B-Movies - full of creative impulses, fresh ideas, and the promise of awesomeness - yet never delivering on that promise. It felt like, there's something great, just hidden, waiting to strike, but sadly it so seldomly did. I think, with a little better writing, this could have been cult classic. Instead it's just trash I fondly remember.
I thoroughly enjoyed Lexx. When they accidentally destroyed a planet behind the space station they were actually aiming at, or Stanley blowing up planets across the galaxy for the sheer fun of it 😂
Loved that show. Like almost every good sifi series of that era, SAAB, Enterprise, Fire Fly, 7 Days, Earth FC, Andromeda, Voyager, Dark Skys, War of the Worlds, First Wave and to some extent B5, they were destroyed by random time slot hopping, Network changing, budget cuts and, (once the got you watching), standard, mediocre Network formula scripts. 😢 I will say SG1 survived quite well with its quality scripts and the fact that the cast could laugh at themselves.
Any production company that is dumb enough to bring a Sci-Fi show to Fox or allow them to buy airing rights deserves what they get at this point. From miserable time slots, to shifting which day the show airs sometimes every week and rearranging to episode order, the show is guaranteed to tie a gruesome death after no more than 2 seasons with most not even making it a full season. Seriously, the only 'Sci Fi' ish series to last any length of time on Fox was the X-Files, and well, Fox didn't have anything to replace it with so kept it around.
It's nothing like star wars. It's was made about a decade after atar wars. With you saying what you said. Plus by the sound of your voice. Lucky if your a day over thirty. Which means your parents were in nappies when this was out.
I like Lexx, especially Season 3. All those bear traps in that one scene, or the guy rocking on the floor saying "I know I shouldnt" over and over. Last I checked it is available on Roku.
