For a sci-fi show that’s been off the air for almost two decades now, Farscape has had an outsize influence on both genre television and the Marvel universe. It started with Guardians of the Galaxy and now everything you've been watching and much of what you will be watching in the upcoming new DC universe from James Gunn, was influenced by it.

Lots of comments missing that he isn't talking about the comic, he's talking about the MCU version of the Guardians. The comic predates Farscape, but Farscape was the inspiration for how Guardians was presented on the big screen.

Adam Warlock had a team like this before MCU, and Farscape. Almost same characters, just better than MCU

A little of both. Like we said in the video, the romance with Gamora and Starlord is for sure Aeryn and Crichton, right down to every detail. So yeah, both Gamorra and Rocket have some Aeryn in them. I can't believe we forgot to mention that both Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan and Groot are plants though. People should really be shredding us for not throwing that in!

You really can’t go wrong with anything created and/or written by Rockne S. O’Bannon. The guy is effin great! But I wonder what comics he was reading when he came up with Farscape?

The guardians go back to at least 1983 that was the first time I learned of them but in comic book format but most definitely far scape was influenced by the guardians not the other way around even if gun doesn't know it

I read the old Guardians - the Jim Valentino era was VERY different from Farscape, and the current iteration of the Guardians, in the comic, came after Farscape.

Wondering about the timeline... I know Farscape came out before Guardians movie, but wasn't Guardians a comic book way before the movie game out? It may have influenced the script/stories for the movies but certainly not the concept - right?

Possible but the style of the comics is not all that much like Farscape and the teams aren’t the same composition as the team used in the movies.
