thanks, very useful. replaces one on my let property today after calling few local engineers who stated that they would not touch it as it is an old boiler and they could run into a lot of difficulties. However, you can still replace the DV without taking the electronic penal off, There is is still plenty of room.
Some have the chip that you can change on the board that is in plastic bag inside boiler casing.. think the chip halves the KW outage of the boiler. So a 30kw one goes to 15kw.
All cdi and si compact software is not the same the difference between the models are the HCM heating control module and the flow regulator later models had a different size water to water plate heat exchanger in the 15 years I work for Worcester I never come across a CDI compact with different software, but the si has different software I think it’s because they were a cheaper alternative to cdi compact Worcester as far as I’m aware did not put this in your manual so the manual you have with your SI would be the same as the CDI compact I hope this is helpful
The answer is no if you were analysing the boiler then you would be putting the boiler in to chimney sweet mode #high and low fire mode to get your readings all you’re doing is range rating the heating output
Don't be fooled by this boiler. Just had it installed 2 days ago and I personally would not recommend it to anybody looking for a reliable product. I didn't choose it because of the price but rather the installers recommended it over the other greenstar models that I initially was leaning towards, like Greenstar 4000. Regardless, 10min after the installation the boiler is dripping water on the front-right corner and is thus loosing pressure. It isn't leaking at the pipe level but rather inside the boiler itself, which makes me think that QA wasn't done right.. Not only that but unlike any other boiler I've had before (And I had 3, including new and old products lilke Greenstar 4000, Vokera 25, Powermax 140), this one is buzzing like a bee. It creates vibrations that travel through the walls and can be now heard in the whole flat, which is extremely annoying. I am now seriously looking into replace this piece of crap and install something more reliable.
A few days ago I serviced a CDi. Customer said it was humming all the time, even at 3am. I knew it would need a software reset. Found your video and followed it and paused as requested.👍
Can you do a video on lowering the output on the Worcester 1000 . Something I can send to the lads at work every time they ask . I believe it can be lowered by 50% max
It’s a Baxi with a plastic hydraulic block and did anyone see the PRV? I’d stick with a Main eco compact for the same money and warranty. Oh sorry ‘guarantee’ for you Worcester snobs! 😂
Shame not to show any of the connections, does it come with fill loop etc as installers will be installing them rather than removing the combustion door etc
