What can I say, I am cheap. However, that does not mean I am lacking in taste, gumption, or exploits. From performance econoboxes to wandering with a fistful of dollars, or builds on a budget, I seek the utmost enjoyment for my hard earned paycheck. Ambition in Economy seeks to show that anybody can jump into mechanized antics regardless of skills and cash.
The vacuum mechanism exists below the mounting plate for all of this and operates independently. One would only be removing the points and condenser. The vacuum advance will still function as normal. The electronic ignition simply removes the mechanical functions of the points opening and closing to create a spark signal.
They have been working great so far. 2 years on and they have been doing well out at my forest. I have more videos of it out on the trails over on Instagram @wesleygarrard.
I’m really impressed by your work here! I have the same floors in my 64 Monza. The floors are mostly non-existent at this point. You don’t happen to still be in possession of these templates, do you?
Great video and nice car! Why not reuse the dust shield with the EI unit? I bought a Pertronix to install but based on what I'm hearing in forums, the FAST unit is more reliable.
I'm attempting the same thing have the bucket seats and original seats the only problem I'm facing is I don't have power tools no grider or welder to complete the job
You can get a decent welder and grinder from Harbor Freight for about $200. The welder I used in this video was a $100 one from HF. www.harborfreight.com/welding/welders/mig-flux-welders/flux-125-welder-63582.html www.harborfreight.com/welding/welders/mig-flux-welders/easy-flux-125-amp-welder-56355.html www.harborfreight.com/43-amp-4-12-in-angle-grinder-with-slide-switch-58089.html
Let's see.... Piano, Bass, Drums and a GREAT Saxophone! I love, love, love the jazz you have given us to listen to while we watch this video. I'm sick of other videos with rap, heavy metal or other dissonant garbage that drive me so crazy I never finish the video. Other RU-vidrs could learn a lot from you on how to create content that is pleasant to watch. I came for the VW info and stayed for the music.
I've been.seeing a lot of things on utube about faulty automotive replacement parts coming from China.Kinda makes you wonder if it's on purpose. Check out Uncle Tony's Garage Do you have an electric fuel pump on the Corvair? Looks like you could use some shocks! You can make those cars handle very well. Thanks for the lessons!!
Has new shocks all around. Out if all our cars, this has the best ride. Installed a Holley Might Mite fuel pump by the fuel tank. Then I modified the old mechanical pump so I could still use the factory fuel line routing.
Hello! Came from Instagram. 😊 I also ride a tinyvan and enjoy the outdoors. 🚐🏕 I subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to your next work! ✨
I got it from a seller on eBay. www.ebay.com/itm/283730799634?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=D7HTVx6eQ8K&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=ciXOG4m2TSq&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I didn’t know their was so much difference between the 4WD systems. Mine is always 4WD with a lever to engage low range. I was confused by what people meant by it sucks in snow in 2wd. Makes more sense now! Thanks for the awesome video.
Excellent job. Was going to see if you wanted to whip up a set of pans for the whole floor of a 63 monza coupe haha. Same situation as yours. Only foot wells available and need the bits under the seats as well. Poor car has been in the family since new and in the early years was parked in a cherry orchard in lower Michigan on grass. Needless to say the heap of metal in the driveway won’t be as big as yours was.
I have not yet been able to find Argo specific parts for one this old. I hear transmission parts are no longer available which stinks because I blew out reverse. I have found that this seems very agricultural. Things like chains and bearings can be sourced at many farm supply stores. Check out my second Argo video for what I did about wheels and tires.
There is a guy named Timmothy Startt on Facebook that runs a business called Rewheel cart works. He is one of the best resources for finding parts for all kinds of 6x6 machines. You can find him in most of the Max 6x6 groups.
Thanks! I have found that most modern tires shops employ the lowest common denominator, pay them as little as possible, and train them as little as possible. No way that they are going to take the time and care enough to make sure the tires on my old vehicles are mounted and balanced correctly. I have only had 1 tire shop be able to mount tires on my old cars properly and the owner retired and the shop closed. So I decided to try it myself. I did ok. Runs down the road nice and smooth even up to cruising speed.
man, you did really nice work!!! looks better than mine, i just used flat sheet metal on mine and made braces i welded under the floor pan, i am really impressed that you took the time to bead roll /copy the original . my hat is off to you!!!
Still got it! It is just been out away for the winter. Have not had to do too much too it. I will have to redo the rockers at some point. I will definitely post a video when that project comes.
Soon! We are waiting for things to warm up a bit and then we are going to do some work on it again. In the mean time, please check out the other stuff on the channel and stay tuned!
Wet sand it and shoot a clear sealer to preserve the integrity of the patina.Theres a club called Wheels of Time for older trucks check them out. LMC has restoration parts for the cab same year pickup minus the front clip.
