So should the switch always be on auto or should it be on off
@OnlySepticAndUtilities
@OnlySepticAndUtilities 8 дней назад
It should be in auto normally. That will allow the pump to run automatically when the level activates the on float. Off will cut it off and it will not function at all. On will run the pump and it will not stop until you turn it off. Only run it in auto.
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus 6 дней назад
The On/Off switch should be in the On position and the Hand/Off/Auto (HOA) should be in the Auto Position for your typical day to day use. The Hand position is manual run and can be used to drain the tank for service or any other need. NOTE: Do not forget the pump in Hand mode as this may result in the pump running dry risking damage to the pump and/or over saturation to where the pump is moving fluid to.

Do you have any videos that explains how the floats act that control a lift station without a transducer? Theres 5 i believe (I have 2 stations with Low, on/off, lag, lead and high well) im trying to understand these better
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus 2 месяца назад
Most control panels operate typically with 3 to 4 floats, but some may use 2 or 5 floats though this is less common. In some cases additional function may be needed like Redundant Off or second High Alarm circuit which may use up to 5 floats in some applications but are not limited to that in custom panel situations. Please see the Demand Dose and Time Dose video links below that cover how most of our catalog product operate. If you would like further information, please call our tech support team at 1-888-342-5753. 2 questions: 1. Ground not needed on the piggyback quick fit, just hot and neutral? 2. How do you plug the odd connection plug into a waterproof plug cover kit made only for straight plugs not angled plugs i.e you cannot close the lid on the box to make it water tight because the plug prevents the box from closing. Why the question of the box; the 'electrician' installed it with lids open and snow/rain = tripped GFCI in both the pump and the alarm. Yes the chump installed 2 boxes like this and then wrapped it in heavy green plastic and said " for extra water proofing"

Can you extend the distance from the float to the alarm by running THWN in conduit, or UF cable?
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus 5 месяцев назад
Yes, you can extend the wire from the float to the alarm. This is a low voltage low current circuit on the Tank Alert AB and using 18 AWG wiring you could run up to 500 feet one way. You could use either UF or a run through conduit which would make it serviceable in the future if additional wiring is needed between the two points. If conduit is used we recommend sealing the conduit to prevent sewer gas and moisture damaging your wire splices and escaping from the tank. If you need further assistance, please contact our tech support at 888-342-5753.

Do you have any videos of the tank alert AB sounding? Id like to hear what it sounds like, mine recently did not give an audible alarm and i ran out of water. I belive the LED worked, but we 100% did not get any sounds or do any silencing.
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus Год назад
The horn on the Tank Alert AB alarms around 87 decibels which is incredibly loud if you are in front of the unit. You could check the time stamp of this video at 4:22 to hear the unit alarm but please note that in person will likely sound different. For troubleshooting you could unplug the unit for 5 seconds then plug it back in. With the power restored, try hitting the test button on the front of the unit. If the horn sounds, then you may have an issue with your alarm float circuit. If the horn does not sound, that would indicate that the horn has exhausted its lifespan and the Tank Alert AB would need to be replaced. If you would like to talk to our tech support team you can give them a call at 1-888-342-5753 ext. 2. Thank you.

Hi Patrick! We've got the Xpert Alert RF now, which lets you put a module in an outdoors panel that communicates wirelessly with the Xpert Alert WiFi indoors. That might be an option! You can call our tech support team for application-specific ideas at 800-746-6287.

Question: I have a float switch that has gone out in my septic tank and it's tethered near the base of the tank about 6 feet from the top of the tank. I can get the old switch out by cutting the plug side and pulling the bulb side up pulling the cord through the tether strap. My question is can I get the new float switch down there and tethered without actually climbing into the tank? Can I tether it on to a weighted post and just lower that in?
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus Год назад
Hi sntemp! In the industry, many installers will use a spare piece of pipe or stainless-steel chain with an anchor mounted to the top tank or the discharge line that a person could attach the float to. This method allows easier maintenance when servicing the system. However, we recommend that you contact your septic installer for safety and system integrity.
@sntemp
@sntemp Год назад
@@sjerhombus thanks, I went with the stainless chain method. After about 10 days I checked the tank and it is working HOWEVER that stainless chain turned brown with some sort of spores on it really quick. I’m shocked how quickly that chain turned in just 10 days.
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus Год назад
@@sntemp Apologies, we didn't discuss the rating of stainless steel. A build up of deposits or corrosion can form on just about any material that is introduced into a septic tank due to the harsh environment and vast chemical makeup. You will want to confirm that you have 316 rated stainless steel or better, as 316 stainless contains molybdenum, which drastically enhances corrosion resistance compared to 304 rated stainless steel and greatly increase the lifespan of the chain. It's a bit complicated, but we hope this helps!

If you powered the whole box with 220 how can you power that little board where all the floats going??
@sjerhombus
@sjerhombus Год назад
Hi Hector! For a single-phase Model 122 duplex panel, the board will need 120V incoming power aside from those used for the pumps. For a three-phase Model 322 duplex panel, the incoming power for the board is provided by a step-down transformer built-in to the panel. This is exactly what I'd like to incorporate into my duplex sewage pump system. The problem I have with SJE Rhombus website and their literature is that every product seems to 'stand alone,' that is, there is no information on what products can incorporate the use of the MySpy WiFi Messenger Unit. I was looking at the Ultra Nator to see if the MySpy WiFi Messenger can be hooked up to it. The Ultra Nator comes with plug-in receptacles and two switches, but does not talk about the alarm sensor (float) and where and how it 'plugs into' the Ultra Nator. The other information-lacking problem I have with their product information is the lack of comprehensive pictures of each product so one can see what goes in and out of each side of the control box. Trying to find out what I could use to replace the discontinued Hydromatic Pump+ Model 122, is like trying to get Top Secret information from SJE Rhombus. As a past MRB qualified Production Engineer at the GE Aircraft Engine Group in Evendale, OH, I find this lack of product information very frustrating, even after contacting SJE Rhombus for some detailed product informaiton. Extremely frustrating!

I finally installed an SJE Rhombus 1221W114H6A10E17A for two Zoeller N267-G pumps. The kind of information I was looking for was compatible products that would take information from the controller and feed it to my cell phone through the office WiFi router over the internet. The kind of information I was hoping to get over the phone would be more specific than just an alarm indicating something (non-specific) is wrong with the system. There is a circuit available from this controller that uses either NC or NO contacts to send a signal out to some 'gateway' component, but identifying what "gateway components" are readily available to integrate into this particular system controller is somewhat hard to find or obtain - when it should not be if the sale of other ancillary products is desired. I actually expect this setup to be very reliable and last longer than I'll be around over the next 10-15 years, needing no cell phone monitoring, but it would still be a nice feature to set it up further for cell notifications even if it were only for a non-specific alarm situation. Having temperature sensors in the vaccine refrigerator, water and humidity sensors in the basement that send current status and alarm situations, if set points are exceeded, over the internet to my cell phone, using IoT technology just makes life a lot more easier to cope with in real time. They are all just 'entropy' alarms, in my opinion, until we all reach absolute zero K.
