I'm Benny and I build things in my garage with basic every day tooling and equipment - these are projects you can do at home with little to no experience required.
Mate this is the best video explaining everything that you need 2 know about e-bikes and wiring, 3 years ago I had to learn the hard way, not much info online back then. This video is what I needed at the time. You've spoiling these ebike fanatics with such a fantastic explanation of how it all works. Well done Bennys on making a fecking top video
Eu comprei um display desse no Aliexpress mas depois que chegou perguntei ao vendedor como ligava e ele falou que não é apropriado para bateria lítio e verdade?
@@pandaman3459 I figured it out It’s Green to Green Blue to Yellow Yellow to Blue That’s the motor phase wires (fat ones ) The 5 pin white box wires are normal just swap the yellow and green ones and the motor should run perfect. Lmk if you have any problems
You all have the wires bunched up right there and give a brief explanation back the fuck up and show where the wires go. I’m having a hell of time figuring out where that blue wire goes because nobody showing anything about it?
Has anyone used one of these brushless motors 3000w to power a quad bike. I’m thinking of getting rid of the blown motor and doing an EV conversion. I’m in Vic as well.
hi, great video! im making a go kart with this motor but the motor turns to the wrong side. There is no place to replace the motor. What wires i have to switch to make the motor turn the other side? I only have to reverse the polarity
I am ordering one of these payday on the 3rd as well as a 48volt 2000watt used power supply. The power supply come out of telecommunications field. You can buy them around 100 bucks. But this is fixing to be the heart and sole of a shopsmith and also a 2 x 72 Belt Grinder . 2 3/4 hp Plus It has the option of being cordless. The e brake will make it safer as well. I think this is one of my better Ideas.
The speedometer needs to connect the yellow cable to the blue cable the bigger one that comes from the motor and it works like a charm. Also The contact with a red and black cable should be the external charging port. :)
Great video. I have 2 of these 48v 2000w Vevor Controller and motor sets on my Razor MX650 and MX500. They are amazing. I recommend doing the "shunt mod" it made a huge difference in torque. You can find a bunch of instructions on you tube. Cheers!
Hello Benny, I loved your video and was so helpful as im building a go kart with the same motor. But I have 1 problem, I live in QLD and I clicked into your battery link and found out its not available, So could you please suggest a different battery but with the same specs. Im 13 by the way
I watched the video and taught the same thing...boo,lol, but anyway, just grab the purple wire and connect with any skinny hall sensor wire and it works yay
Thank you for the sharing the video. Do you have any steps on troubleshooting the controller if the motor does not run? Everything was working fine before motor stopped running. I have the display connected to the ignition switch which turns on when I turn on the ignition key. When I press the throttle pedal, motor does not run. I am suspecting controller may have died.
Interesting. But I'm still in the dark as to what each, individual wire is. So I can connect my own switches etc. Does anyone, anywhere, have a pin-out/color code diagram?
Hi, Do you recon if this motor can be mounted facing down on an outboard? I am thinking of converting my petrol outboard to an electric one and would appreciate your comment since you have dealt with it.
The two black wires on the screen are for measuring 48v battery or 60v when you connect them or disconnect , to know the charging value . I have a question please : This motor is without gear inside .. so it is a low torque , high speed motor . So do you think it will work on scooter or small car with small tire diameter , even you put 40t chain wheel on the wheel ? Will it drive on steeps ??? If yes , does it work on ebike 20inch or just with small wheels ?! Thanks
This controller is perhaps the worse controller ive ever dealt with. The throttle response is absurd. Its unbearable on any 2 wheeler with that 1800w motor, itll throw you off.
my controller is a 48v 2000w and i am trying to get it to turn my motor, i've hooked up power red and black, 3 phases to the motor, hall sensors and power up wire, i have throttle wired and it is active. i have control voltage feeding into the controller but motor is getting nothing! could this be bad controller from new? and do any of the other wires coming out of the controller need to be hooked up to run it?
I have the same problem and it hurts my brain. Even with a new controller it doesn’t want to turn. No clue what’s going on, maybe the controller is bad(???)
@@lincolnhausman7025 after looking at a few more possible wiring setups on youtube i figured out i had 1 more red wire to make hot, but that was too late, i had already tried jumping something else together and got a big spark! never good to get a big spark, i may have ruined mine by jumping something together too quickly, i think it's trash now. $50 lost in the learning.good luck with yours
