Another hilarious story about Clodius (and arguably the only based thing he ever did his entire life) was when he, as a newly appointed Tribune of the Plebs, straight up vetoed Bibilus's farewell speech at the end of his consulship.
Some interesting aspects of Numa's religious teachings involved the prohibition on portraying the gods as human or animal aspect, the institution of January and February (creating the 12 month year as opposed to the 10 month year preceding it), and his insistence on being buried instead of cremated.
My theory with no backing evidence whatsoever is that Romulus is an amalgamation of numerous unnamed kings and tribal leaders of the people who would one day become Romans.
Fun fact: even though Portugal is a democracy now, no one ever took the Crown from it's owner, for it's owner is an immaterial and immortal spiritual being: Our Lady of Immaculate Conception!!! The Portuguese Crown was delivered to her. That's why the later kings are depicted never using the crown on their head! So is Portugal monarchy really gone, or it lives forever for our real queen cannot be killed or captured.🇵🇹✝️💪
Sebastião was virgin, because in Portugal Christianity was always very, and I say VERY present in the royal court, so he would probably only loose his virginity after the marriage, but the guy wasn't gay, he was just too focused on future promises of glories and victories of conquest, so his mistake was deciding to go to war at 16 instead of holding down a marriage first.
The birthstory is basicly a rip of of the Story of Sargon of Akkad. The latin word for shewolf also ment prostitute. Basicly like we call a bitch a female dog but also a prostitute. The first historians probaly did not explain if it was a 2 or 4 legd shewolf. Later the Romans simply painted a 4legd. The rest is probably historic accurate. With 2 exceptions. Romulus probably murdered the King of the Sabines and when inspected his troops. There Was probably no Storm comming AT least not a liberal Storm. In Realität the Sabines had enough of this Literatur Son of a bitch who had kidnapped their Daughters and murdered their King and killed him. Romulus Suporters on the other Hands. The kidnappers, rapists(who else would have fleed from his home and hope to find another home in Rome) tried to avenge him and the rest was a fight or a methaphorical Storm.
I love how the most dangerous part of being a Roman Emperor wasn't disease, war, usurpers, barbarians, or even plain stupidity (not that all of these didn't play their parts) but just "the Praetorian Guard." Can you imagine your bodyguards being the most likely people to kill you? No wonder so many Emperors went insane.

I think Romulus was probably a real person because his story overall isn't that fantastical other than a few parts, especially when compared to other legendary founders.
