Hi, my name is Matthias, I'm a journalist from Germany. Here on my RU-vid channel I try to mix the joy of solo traveling with a little bit of pop culture. These 2 formats are published here regularly:
▪️ My „Travel & Learn“ series tells the story behind the places and countries I‘m traveling. It‘s about the little things along the road that nobody would ever notice - and about the questions you didn‘t know you needed answered.
▪️ My „Famous Film Location“ series shows the places we all know from our favorite TV shows and movies.

Many people on Reddit say that Sweden is a terable country, but Even when crimes are high there, why Sweden still ranks a bit high in terms of good quality of life, low crime rate, good public transportation, and other, if you look at the rankings, Sweden is still kinda highcompared to other countries globally ?
I loved this movie the first time I saw it as a young lad in New Zealand. All subtitled but because of the pace and acting I was hooked. Bought on DVD when it came out and when I tried to watch it with English over dub, it ruined it. 😂😂. Has to be watched in its native tongue to truly appreciate in my humble opinion. Thank you so much for your videos Sir!
Sweden also got a lot of successfull music software companys. Toontrack, XLN Audio and Propellerhead, just to mention a few. But i believe Germany still dominate the music software market. You, for instance, got Ableton, Native Instruments and Steinberg (Cubase). Although I believe Steinberg is owned by a japanese company these days.
Americans also dont use whatspp for the simple reason alot of scammers use it and many people have been hacked. Fb is used in every country and they have their own messaging service so what is the need to use a different messaging service
I was just at the Puente Hills mall yesterday to pick up some pops from the Hot Topic there. It was my first time there, oddly enough. It's a disgusting mall. The malls closer to me are busy as hell and never stopped flourishing since the 90s. So walking into a desolate mall that hasn't been maintained and smells like wet dust/mold was unnerving. There was a store going out of business, but wasn't open for some reason. I'm gonna head back fhere soon to see the old movie prop (if it hasn't been stolen yet). It needs to be shut down. I was talking to an employee at Hot Topic about the mall. The landlord is apparently a giant prick, which doesn't surprise me. I've seen so many abandoned mall vids, but I've never seen one in person. This was the closest. It's surreal. Anyhoo, i hope you put on tons of sunscreen while you visited and stayed hydrated. You should've waited to visit around fall/winter (November-February, generally). It's much cooler then. If you came during the spring/summer, my deepest sympathy. 😅 I hate the heat, too. Hope you visit again someday. 🤘
Great job filming those locations! Interesting that the only HD versions of this show you can find are from a European blu ray release. At least Europeans cared enough about the show to merit a HD release. Cheers
I never realized it´s that divided by today. When i grew up in the 90s, it was still mixed, there were a few bonneted trucks in europe too, mainly made by Scania and Volvo and some old MAN, and the us was still manufacturing a few cabovers, Kenworth, International, Freightliner.
I live in Sweden and yes, the one thing that enjoy most is MUSIC. Like I discovered here that Per Gessle, the masculine side of Roxette, has his own band and career here with a bunch of hits, its amazing. And that tv show you mention "Så mycket bättre" is the reason why music makes people come together beyond the generational factor, the amount of talent displayed in that tv show is absolutely outstanding ❤❤
Idk about the rest of the world, but the group chat app that’s gained the most momentum in the US is Discord. And for years now my android shows anyone message for me as whatever color I want. And the Apple change doesn’t bother because if an Apple user gets snobby with me I just laugh at them
George makes one of the best Christmas songs I like listening to every year and in a man dies on Christmas terrible loss rest in peace George we love you will never forget😂
If you add up the numbers on the license plate and divide by the relative humidity that day, it spells, "Paul's still alive, folks. Don't be idiots and believe every rumor you hear!"
Herzlichen Dank, dass du uns ermöglicht hast diese wunderbare Reise durch Drehorte zu erleben. Das Buch und das Film ist das berührenste Geschichte, die ich je gelesen habe.
Cooler Kanal. Heute erst für mich entdeckt. Call my by your name habe ich gestern zum ersten Mal überhaupt gesehen und habe bis dahin wirklich was verpasst.
This too you did a great job , but i have a question what do you do for a living to afford to come over here from Germany to do all this ? This filming movie 🎥 locations you do is so cool.
There was a third time and i think the most influential. The "Preußische Geheimpolizei" was the first time that the state was systematically spying in his people. With all the bad things, interrogate, torture, murder. Later "implementations" where using the lectures learned from that to make the spying more discrete and effective.
Very nice video! Small note though: Lillo still exists! Admittedly, not a lot of it nor with a large population. Nowadays, you can reach it by public transportation (read: a boat) from Antwerp or by driving through the harbor. It's a wonderful place to walk around during the summer (although you'd mostly be walking the same circle over and over again). It's got a population of around 40-50 people.
That Irby's Billiards sign is their own mock-up, it's not the actual sign that was in the movie. The actual movie location of Blue Point Diner is the 2nd building south of the pub, the same building that has the indented alley with a back door (and a trash can in the movie) .. the current (and not the same as in the movie) Blue Point sign is hung on the wrong building, along with the wrong back door painted white and falsely labeled as Blue Point.
