just starting to get into gold panning and this video was pretty cool, I'm walking distance from the Chicopee river and have a decent pair of waders, so it should be some fun and panning
Good day guys, great video. I live in the capital district (Upstate, NY) and travel to Mass a lot. There isn't much gold in NY but I don't mind travel. Would it be worth buying a used gold Bug 2 with 3 coild for $500 shipped or just some panning equipment?
funny to hear these guys get excited about Quartz. The gold around here is Placier gold. Not lode gold. There will be some lode. But the majority came from Canada and the glaciers.
Less than twenty miles away there is a quarry loaded with beautiful crystalized gold accidentally used for back fill off a major highway. This back fill was totally quartz filled with gold and later explained to be accidentally covered up and lost on the property of the quarry. Gold is where you find it, and someone found it. Thanks for your comment.
@@joshh5373 of course, I have a pump, the hoses...my friends have everything we need also. It's a all a round great time. Looking forward to the spring!
It is... although I have heard mixed options on the use of gasoline engines. From what I understand, at this time, no restrictions. We took the step to keep the engine contained in a tub to prevent any contamination of gas or oil into the water system.
Tough finding gold in ma but it's there and many places where pickers can be found ✨️. Hit up the tail end of the Vermont lode trend In Colrain , or in Windsor by the placer mine there is creek access . I'm sure you have been to couch and keets but if you cross over to Marlborough VT there is great color
@@purplenewbiejuiceoutdoorad6751 lol 😆 when what year ..... people have been saying that for 12 years that I know of ! And I continue to go there and dig in the same spot, only areas I've lost access to were private and due to neighbors . They can't do anything about that middle bridge area . As for up north the hollows are all great hale pinney chat Curtis daily any of the above .
that looks awesome buddy, i love the westfield river,, its a lot better up where you are!! Sweet vid,, hope youre good!! Careful calling a penny a stinkin lincoln lol,, i did it on my video and had someone threatn to leave my channel if it happens again...i said first off, its not a bad slang at our president,, its a common slang for finding a memorial penny especially a zinc penny,, they are no fun to find,, i also said theres tons of channels that call it a stinkin lincoln, and they arnt bashing our president,, they are also called stinkin zincolns lol,, guy was crazy!! nice vid bud, camera looks good,,and also careful of that poison ivy that is everywhere along that river
Thank you for the info... I'm more worried about bees in the ground but poison ivy sucks big time. It's almost second nature to call them that but good advice. HH my friend and stay healthy!
@@purplenewbiejuiceoutdoorad6751 It looks like a blast tromp'n all through the woods , besides out here in the Berkshires it gorgeous year round and I have been all over the place out here just never crossed my mind till I started investing in Gold and Silver. I know some spots I'd like to try up in Peru and all along the Housatonic through out Windsor and Wahconah falls , I also Have a spot I need to check out for a Meteor I saw hit the side of a mountain in Dalton , that will take forever and a day to find seeing it was back in the Mid 70's . if I find it I know I'd make a nice buck or two off . never had the time to look until recently now that I am retired. enough yammering on lol .
Where can I find the laws on Panning creeks and rivers in Mass? Im in western Ma and would love to know what i can and cant do.. I see you guys have all the equipment out like the sluicebox.. Do you need some kind of permit? All i can find is about Coal mining on Mass Gov. Love the video and glad you guys found GOLD!!! Gives me hope.
From what I understand, at this time, no restrictions on public land. You can use: dredges, sluice boxes, pans, shovels, high bankers. Make sure you leave areas like you find them. Hopefully this will keep restrictions away... There was a problem at Couch brook where someone didn't reclamate an area putting a stop to going there anymore. From what I have learned.
@@purplenewbiejuiceoutdoorad6751 Awesome!!! That is great news. Thank you so much for the response. I hope to see more vids from you guys soon!. Ive recently become intrigued by natural gold and seeing that color in a pan just gets the blood flowing. lol
gotta think back 1000s of years most likely the water was 20 or 30 ft higher and with floods it easily will move boulders.. im from sw nh .. good luck and heavy pans!! feel free to check out some of our many vids.. about to start a new season!!
Glad to come across this, started planning in MA, NH and Maine in the last year or so. So many hidden little areas was wondering if I was wasting time in them, but this made me wana run back out
Scrape all that moss of the rocks and break it up. Then pan the results. Mother nature's miner's moss has been capturing bits of gold in that "miner's moss" for thousands of years.
