I was very much Team Iron Man and, although I never really disliked Captain America, I always found him a tad preachy and more than a little naive. However I was impressed at his heart and willingness to go hand-to-hand with Thanos and, when he actually held him back, was blown away.
I will tell you why Endgame is better. It is a character driven story - with the best character arcs ever of any Super Hero based film. It is a thematically deeper story with ideas about what actually defines hero, or makes a person complete or whole. It is a more original story (Infinity War is based on Jim Starlin's Thanos Quest - Endgame is its own thing, and does not even have a precedent in Marvel history. It has stakes - that are real and permanent. (Tony Thanos and Nat's Death, Steve grows old, Banner and Hulk resolve their conflict, Thor abdicates the throne, etc..) Your turn now - why is Infinity War better?

About Thor's daddy bod: It was initially written that he would get his fit body again before the last fight. But Chris Hemsworth chose to keep wearing it for the unpowerment of people struggling with overweight (I guess his relationship with Chris Pratt had something to do with it, but I don't know). I mean he could have not done it, and the movie would have been just as good. But you've got to respect the gesture.
This was one of the serendipitous good decisions that made this a charmed film. I roll my eyes at those who claimed the MCU was trying to fat shame Thor. They are the shallow ones who define the character by his weight - not the film, which is deeper than that.
Because the Avengers saved the Universe including bringing back the Asgardians for whom Earth is now their home. Do you think the Asgardians wouldn’t help the earth to feed itself, or do you imagine the Gods who live amongst us cannot help us in any way? The questions are interesting - but there are many potential answers as implied by the story if you think about it.
More like Civil War was the best MCU film. The errors in Endgame are countless, if you consider the storytelling of every film before it. The 1st Act was excellent, the 2nd lazy and boring, the 3rd exciting, but with several errors.
People who say the errors in Endgame are countless…never list them. Because deep down they are *afraid* it might be something they misunderstand…and they don’t want that fact exposed. Or…they will just end up listing nitpicks in CG or editing which exist in every film of this type, including ‘whatever’ film they prefer. But it’s so obvious….
I think the point of the video is that we don’t’ realize how difficult it would be for marvel to reproduce something of this quality again. It was a minor miracle, and Feige and company have completely whiffed on recapturing that magic again. It’s like Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - from the Beatles. @@summertyme5748 I agree! It was always set up to be a comprehensive, hard to execute, once in a lifetime event with all of the biggest characters. It WAS the Endgame (unlike the NBA Finals that happen every year). Now we're looking for creative ways to build new characters. But no one had Shang-Chi bedsheets, action figures, and video games growing up. It might take another 20-50 years before another thing on this level is even possible.
Probably the most nuanced battle centric movie there' has ever been. There was a right and wrong side in the movie, but there weren't any evil characters. Thanos wasn't evil and had no evil intent, but he was wrong, and willing fo fight over it, making him the bad guy. He thought he was saving the universe, but he just couldn't see anothwr way, of which there are many in a universe so large. He was wrong, but not evil.
Take a look at the deleted scenes. Usually in previous movies, people go "why did they leave this out?". Not for a lot of them for Endgame. The Russo brothers were on their A-game in deciding which scenes to cut or not. Some were baffling and cheesy as hell. And dont' forget the Editor. Tony's final line was only added because of one guy. It went past RDJ's, writers and Russo Bros.
You are right about the deleted scenes. You could tell they were intended fan service that got overruled thankfully. -> The one where they all kneel to Tony - which is clearly meant to pacify the little kids who can't accept Tony's death, but which undermines the beautiful scene between Tony and Pepper which convey's both the selflessness of Tony's act, and our respect for the character and for Pepper who was more concerned about Tony in his last moment than her own grief which she suppressed until he was gone. Grief and solace Perfectly balanced as all things should be.
Endgame has always been peak MCU for me. Not even NWH came close to the awesome moments, and while infinity war is structurally a better film, I still prefer endgame because of how well acted and directed every scene is
It really is great, but spiderman no way home felt better, I know the main plot is dumb but it got us the rest of the film which is for sute the moat excited I ve ever been in the cinema chair
"Endgame" is a great movie, and was the culmination of a decade of (mostly) great movies. But the greatest superhero movie? No. That honorific goes to "The Incredibles".
^ Nah. Incredibles is a very pleasant version of the Fantastic Four, but more than that is required to achieve greatness. (For example SpiderVerse has created an entirely new aesthetic for animation - and changed the entire Industry - whereas Incredibles fails to move the game on)
One thing people don't quite get about the structure of Infinity War and Thanos is that effectively Thanos does win the film in Infinity War. Remember his goal was to balance the Universe via death, and then die. Endgame happens 5 years later, but in some respects, from Thanos perspective - he is dead - it might as well be 5 million years later. If Marvel were still being well written instead of fumbled, they would have revealed in Antman 3 - that the Infinity War timeline was the 'sacred' timeline and the Endgame timeline would exist 'because' Kang invents time travel in the 30th century and sent Janet Van Dyne back in time - to make sure Scott gets trapped in the Quantum Realm, and so bring about the Endgame timeline. Now the two timelines exist in conflict with each other - and you have yourself the beginnings of a multiverse war. Instead Feige handed the MCU over to the Rick and Morty cartoon writers, and the rest sadly is history.

Bruce Banner is a man who has a split personality that is a tormented soul at war with itself. In Avengers 1 - he tried to put a gun in his mouth and blow his brains out. [have you forgotten that?] In Avengers 2 - he caused the death of innocent people with his uncontrollable rage and *ran away* [have you forgotten that too] He is not and never was healthy or happy or stable as you imply. You simply impose that fantasy on the story because you *like* the smash monster Hulk..and do not care about Banner. In Ragnarok thru Endgame - > Smash Hulk is destroyed, and Nerd Banner is destroyed, Professor Hulk emerges from this. *This is the 1st and only point in the story where Banner is strong and whole, physically, mentally and spiritually - which enables him to wear the Infinity Gauntlet - and become a TRUE HERO.* But - you simply don’t care. All you do care about, all you want, all you know - is HULK SMASH. You want a video game avatar - not a character - who is not *acted* but rather related by CG, and gets points for smashing for environment damage. 😂 That is the actual story you witnessed, but your response continues to talk as if you are playing a video game - nerf this, and buff that….. Character’s in cinema don’t have buff and nerf. They have psychology, intellect, and feeling. The issue you have with Professor Hulk is simply because cinema is of no value to you. You just want a video game.
Wtf, not even the best Marvel movies. Endgame is at best tied with men of steel at like 10-15. But americans tend to like it. But not sure how anyone can have endgame ranked higher then the dark knight. A friend i took to endgame saying it will be Worth 10 bucks and an evening still reminds me every few months that i told him im sorry for dragging him into the cinema :D he still wants his money back from me.
Man of Steel is Rubbish. Like every other Zack Snyder film - it is aimed at the lowest possible IQ level audience. Clark manages to *kill every last Kryptonian* including all their embryos - because “Krypton had its chance.” The Kryptonians want to terra-form - actually krypto-form the earth to make it more like Krypton - which will actually cause them to lose their God Like powers and be vulnerable to being killed in natural disasters - *just like what happened on Krypton.* 😂 [meaning - what they are doing in this film makes no sense - in terms of a sane agenda, but Snyder can never tell a story where a single character behaves as if their brain was working correctly. They just do whatever results in mindless violence in slow motion which is his sole interest as a jumped up camera man] Clark just lets his dad Jonathan die - because (plot reasons - but actually no - he’s just bring fridged). The excuse is - he needs to keep ‘hiding’ his identity until - lol - later in the plot. But we already saw him take petty revenge against a bully in a restaurant and trash the man’s car, so tell us ‘again’ why you let your dad die Clark. Revenge against bullies is more important than not making Martha a widow because you REFUSE to save your dads life???? It's always the same with Zack - everyone does something stupid - so the movie can happen. Over and over and... Man of Steel was an early example. Rebel Moon 2 (with the Star Ship that burns coal 🤣 - remember lowest possible IQ) put the final nail in the coffin for Zack *fraud* Snyder. MOS is worse than almost every MCU film, and comparing it to Endgame is like comparing Rebel Moon to the Empire Strikes Back. It’s hard to take anyone seriously who likes Zack Snyder’s vomit.

Doesnt really matte when people enjoy the movie its good for them and they should enjoy the movie. its just in my friend circle around 10 people have seen endgame and if i say in a movie night, how about endgame? which ive threatend 2 times out of fun, everyone would rather leave. funny thing is i dont even have the disc :D So i have empty guns, but its fun to see them united like that. normaly that doesnt happen. men of steel has a similar reaction tough.

That's like saying "I know someone who agrees with me which proves i'm right". Actually that proves nothing. Anecdotal arguments are logical fallacies.
I wish loki - Creates a machine to hold the multiverse in his place.. And gets to live with his friends and family.. And the thought that he might have done it by now with all the knowledge in the world at his disposal (by accounting for infinity) This thought eases on the sadness that i feel for him... Glorious Purposr are my new favorite words from now on..

End game "stuck the landing" because million of ppl were 22 movies invested into the series. The movie was garbage, the plot was garbage(never time travel), and this was the dumpster fire that started disney down it's political bullshit!

Ask Star Wars fans if Rise of "Palpatine" stuck the landing. Sticking the landing is the hardest part - built up expectation makes it harder not easier which is why so many others fail where Endgame succeeded.
