i am gonna put a zerk or grease fitting like you did but i will fill it with GREEN GREASE full synthetic grease that will stop the oil from getting past the bearing and no more leaks. the plate is called the brake backing plate. you were close enough.
John, I would love to hear your answer. I adjusted the brake shoes but the brake peddle on both side and the parking brake will not stop it I am a greenhorn but I need the brakes to work at least a little I would hate to miss your answer. You can txt me at 901-486-9535
Great Videos of this Job. My Seal is Leaking on my TO30 Fergie and now I know what I'm In For!! Quite the Job. Thanks For Posting and sharing your Knowledge. You did an Excellent Job.
I watched the first 2 1/2 minutes. During that time you disassembled several parts but did not show how to do it. You might as well just do still photos of your finished steps rather than a video. Thumbs down.
john....that cinder block / axle stand combo is a disaster waiting to happen...at least you should set the webs vertical with at least one 2x8 pad for the stand....just trying to keep it safe brother
I just google as much info as I can find already on the internet. Sometimes ask questions on the tractor forum chat which is a great source of info from folks who have already done whatever you are trying to do on an old tractor.
I am trying to drill through the race with the diamond bit and I am having a hell of a time. What is your secret? I am drilling out a little closer to the hub.
Terry, I'm not sure what to say other than I tried a variety of bits and the diamond did go through. I drilled the cast iron part first with a regular high speed steel then switched to diamond for the bearing cup
Bill, once you have removed the stud bolts that hold the wheel hub the axle and hub just pull right out. There is nothing in the rear end holding the axle. Thanks for watching.
