Why would you leave it down in the dirt where ground moisture can cause more trouble, later. Jack it up and leave it up there. Put a proper floor or at least some kind of masonry lower wall. Water and wood don't mix. It's a lot of work to jack it up.
Thanks for the comment, it's good for others to see things like this. I didn't want it any higher than what it's at now, and the shed lasted over 30 years last time. I should have put down a vapor barrier, but I didn't know any better. I did coat the plywood underneath, and I fixed the standing water issue. The rain was pooling around the shed for years and that's all fixed now so the ground stay nice and dry. I have a few holes in the floor that I use to check the 2x6s and it's stay dry so far. If and when it rots again and if I'm still around, I will end up pouring concrete.
Excellent design! I'm watching this and PVC shopping at the same time. Going to go 120" and use rebar for my anchors and 1/2" EMT conduit for anti-flex in the PVC. Thanks!
I have a large screen as well. It's 120 or 110 I forget. But the pvc for that screen is 3" schedule 40 with no supports in the center and no need for anything in the tubes for sagging. To make the big one stand up I used T connectors and added 2 feet of tube on each end, then that connects to the one tube coming down. Have fun and thanks for watching the video
If you want to make it real small, use paint sticks that they give out when you buy paint :), But this could be made with just glue and a hand saw. Thanks for watching the video :)
Great video, Thank you for taking the time to make it. My son is about to turn 6and is out growing most of the regular trailers. I am looking for something just like this but with some type of suspension. The sidewalks in my area are horrible. Do you know if they make a trailer this size with suspension. Thanks
Thanks for watching. I have never seen one with suspension, but you could let a bit of air out of the wheels to make it a bit softer. If you find something, please let me know.
@@Ricks_Tech_Talk I was looking that the Burley D’lite X with suspension. Burley also sells wider wheels 16x3 for sand, gravel and off road support. The only concern that I have is that my son is 5 1/2 and will probably only fit into it for about another year or so. It fits my needs for now but not long term.
HI great video. I just have a question. I have the same setup with satellites. My main router in basement. A satellite on 1st floor, 2nd floor, and backyard. My issue is a (ex. device that is right next to a satellite will connect to my router in basement, or satellite furthur away then the one right next to it) Then devices will get crappy wifi. This happens on multiple devices. Do you have any experience with this. Thanks in advance.
When I had the units, they did the something like that until I called support. It was something in the advance settings I had to turn on or off. Not sure if it was fast switching or what. But they knew right away what I had to do.
Just bought myself a 1988 Starcraft Comet, last Thursday... this video has helped me a ton with ideas. I just want to say thank you for showing what you did and great work on all of it! I can't wait to use some of your ideas on mine haha
Hello. Thank you for the video. It looks like you were struggling to turn. Is it hard to turn. And what about using in gravel? Thank you for your time.
The tires are wide and that a lot of weight on the tongue. It's not too bad when it's moving, but making big corrections it takes some force but nothing major. Gravel should be fine. I've used it in grass, and it only slipped when the camper wheels started to sink into the lawn. This one shows it in the grass ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X7_CQhoZGKg.html
No, it never gets stuck. I usually have it on high speed until I get closer to the house, that does help it over the curb better. Here is another one I made, its very short ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X7_CQhoZGKg.html
Oy !.... just dont store your battery too long at low or high charge....left mine almost six months at half charge and the still work beautifully...3 years now.
Hey. Are you still selling smart vent or have you stopped? I need a Zigbee smart vent that is connected to the Home Assistant system (via Zigbee2Mqtt or ZHA) or to the SmartThings Hub.
I only make reviews videos, and I think Keen is dead. I'm running Flair vents and I have had them for a few years now, way better product. Here is a link, and it should help save you 10% or so if you buy any. flair.refr.cc/rickyh
This is perfect. I was racking my brain and trying to find a video like this. I have a 12x12 shed I'm trying to convert into a sauna, but the plywood floor is sagging and i need to lift the whole thing higher off the ground. I need to figure out what to do underneath the stove instead of a plywood floor, but I'm hoping I'll have as much success as you did for the first phase.
Hi -How much was your electric dolly (in dollars) ? We have a bit of an incline in our driveway and our trailer is an intech sol dawn do you think it could do a greater incline than your driveway? - Our trailer weighs about 3000-3500 pounds- how much does the electric dolly weigh and can you (or do you) take it with you to campgrounds? I was hoping to be able to sometimes use it at campsites or rv camps- what are your toughts on it and where did you buy it ?
I purchased it direct from the manufacture parkit360.ca/products/force?variant=41156456022197 The Force Dolly weighs approx. 80lbs without the Handle, Ball Mount, or Battery installed. It's easy to disassemble and fits into the trunk of a small sedan or trailer storage compartment. If you have a ramp to drive it up in, it wouldn't be so bad.
They are about the same at my house. They don't rattle or have a whistle to them. On one unit, I added some felt tape to the blades to make it seal better.
I have my main unit on the third floor and one unit each on the 2nd and 1st...can i hardwire the satelitte on first with the satellite on second or do i need to hardwire both satellites to the main unit?
Thanks. Why not just use at 60+ watt incandescent? Only need 1 lamp holder. Will use your design to make a smart charger as well utilizing stock charger. Thinking another 30 bucks max. If there is interest I will post the schematic
Great video production with excellent lighting, and audio. This is actually similar to an idea I've been kicking around for 2-3 years but in a U-shape. I didn't want to have any legs bumping my knees as I rolled around from one end to the other. Your design clears up some of the details I was stumbling over. Thank you!
Hey thanks for the comment. After I made the desk, the garage got a full remodel so I can't wait to build something else. I hope yours turns out great.
At the time of making this video, you could not do that for AP mode, but they could have fixed it by now. If you are not using AP mode, then it will work fine.
Thanks! Think maybe I need to contact them? I had one backhauled to switch with router, and in router mode, the satellite wasn't detected. After I get everything setup, I'd like to have 2 satellites backhauled and another one wireless.
Thanks. We did have a trike for her, but it was really hard to transport it around. Then she tipped it over and wouldn't get back on it. After I made this video I bought an ebike to help pull her, it's a blast :) thanks for watching
Should you only need to set them once to account for imbalanced flow in the house’s ducting system? Personally I find my house is pretty consistent… the room that heats the fastest also cools the fastest due to room size and flow. Genuine question if it really needs to constantly modulate.
Buy the amount of vents you need for that one room and one puck and your set. The vents work great for rooms like that. It will even that one room out and make it more comfortable.
Great video. Thanks. On my Granboard sometimes the 20 will register as a 5 especially if it is down in the lower portion of the 'V' . Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Could you elaborate on the process/how you connect the cables. I'd like to add a permanent battery meter to a project (12V Lithium battery). No idea where and if it's possible to inter connect the + and - wires to the battery. Anyone able to assist with that?
It's very basic, just two wires to hook up. Red goes to the + on the battery and Black to the -- thats it. Hook the wires where you would connect the device that you want to power up and that's it. GL
@Ricks_Tech_Talk I recently installed this meter and all is great, however when I plug in an On/Off switch to my project the reading is 0% and voltage shows 10.1V If I remove the On/Off switch the result is perfectly normal and I get e.g. 35% battery reading. Why would this be? My project consists of the following: 1) A 12.6V Lithium Ion Battery pack 3S2P 2) LED strip lights (2.0m) and 3) Touch sensitive On/Off switch NOTE: All components are DC (female and male) jack compatible and hence plug and play is possible. I installed the Battery Voltage Meter as described ----> It follows AFTER the On/Off switch. Please let me know your thoughts.
@@Ricks_Tech_Talk Thanks for your feedback. To confirm, does this mean the meter needs to form part of the circuit and be placed before the On/Off switch? Why would I get a different reading when I place the meter after the On/Off switch? Shouldn't the reading be consistent regardless?
My guess is the current / resistance is changed when it's part of the circuit because it needs to find a way back to the battery for a reading. Just hook it up separate from the circuit. But it should work fine if you want to and a switch in line with it to turn it off. Just make sure it's just an on-off switch and not one that lights up when on. If you have something inline with the meter that draws power, it will mess it up. So in the end the meter and your project will connect to the pos and both to the neg. When I did mine, I had the wires connected to the pos and neg hooked to a XT60 connector, I just plugged the meter in when I wanted readings.
Hard to find a nice big computer desk build like this one. Awesome job. I'm jealous. Don't have a garage or the sweet tools to do this. Nice work Rick.
You are so kind, thank you so much. This desk could be made with a saw and sander. You could build it with just rough cut lumber, then sand it down after it's built. For the top you could buy butcher block countertop. Thanks for watching the video.
@@Ricks_Tech_TalkThanks. Been wanting to build one. Very hard to find a manufactured computer desk as large, and certainly not as much quality as your build. But I need to do something. Had the same ugly old desk for over 20 years.
