Hi, we also have theJ9 combo. I mapped it first time today. My app was also showing water low in robot full in base station. I had to manually fill the robot tank manually. When I went to the robot to check. The camera /eye was facing inside. How / when does it fill the robot water tank/ box?
I wondered that myself at first. Them I realized that I would never mop without vacuuming or sweeping the floor first. Therefore, there are the vacuum only and vacuum and mop options.
If you want to have the mop only option, I would use the M6 mopping iRobot. You would still want to vacuum or sweep your floors first. That’s why I have the M6 and S9+ iRobots for my downstairs. Great question.
@momsmachines5476 I'm very disappointed. I had Ecovacs before and I was able to use vaccum only or mop only or both. With IRobot this option isn't available. I think I have to return it.
Thank you for your comment! What is your company name and products? I will look them up and if I decide to purchase one when I need it, I may do a video on them.
Thank you for your question! I love my Automower and am happy with the Husqvarna brand and customer support. I would buy another one with zero reluctance. However, it is a little bit of a learning curve and might take time for a new user to get used to. I found the learning curve to be a fun challenge! ! I am much happier with the 550S with Epos as well!
Thank you for your comment. It was a bit tricky opening the dust bin at first! It’s not like my other IRobot vacuums. It took the customer service rep a few minutes to help me figure that out too. 😅
I buy machines and products that I need for my house and life and just do videos on these. What is the name of your product and brand and I will look at it. If I decide its something I could use, I will buy it and try it out, then maybe do a video on it. Thank you and thank you for watching my videos!
I have gotten the message “minimum three waypoints” for a working area but never too many for a transport path. Let me go back to my machine (and owner’s manual) and see what I can find out.
Thank you for your question. When I started it the first time, the vacuum itself would not take on the cleaning solution. When I called customer service, they had me take out the water and cleaning solution in the base container and put in pure water. I just swished the plain water around to unstick the sensors. Then I put water and cleaning solution back in the container of the base. It worked fine after that!! Let me know if this helps.
We purchased this unit and discovered the robot would not self-fill from the solution reservoir. We contacted the company who disclosed that they would add the new software and so reregistration was started and it worked fine the first time. On the second charge and return to vacuuming and cleaning, the tank again would not self-fill. Upon calling again the technician asked what type of solution we were using and so I disclosed we were using Bona, that referred to by their company. She asked me to shake the container to energize the sensors. Once again, the unit failed to wash the floor or refill. The next day all the unit would do was vacuum the floor. After just 1.5 weeks we were tired of baby-sitting this unit and called, disclosed our discontent with the unit and requested either a new unit or refund. The technician on the line stated that we had purchased the unit 2.5 weeks prior (I didn't know that warranty started upon purchase not date of delivery) and so either would be my option. I asked if the new unit would start a new warranty due to it being new and that the other unit was defective. She said it would not, that the warranty would be the one where the older unit began. I have seen this type of hold on to the unit until the warranty is up and you have no recourse with RING door Bell. I opted for return with refund and I am in the process of looking at another company. We had the J7 and the mopping unit from Roomba, so we will return to using them until we find another company. I find a great deal of reviews cater to the companies..... possibly because they are sponsored by them....sad. Wish I had the luck you had with yours.
If i have a big working area and make 5 smaller work areas in it, can i then make only 1 transportpath that runs through all of the smaller workarea’s? Will that work?
That’s a great and new question!! From what I understand, you have to have a transport path to each working area, but I haven’t tried it with a bigger working area and smaller ones within that. My 550 will not go to an area unless it has a transport path to it. It will say something like “destination not reachable”.
Right on!! It was acting so crazy after the damage….like a rogue automower!! Seems to be acting fine in my test area. The true test is to put it to work for real!!
Thank you! I’m learning as well as I’m setting up the mowers and other machines on my channel. Any questions, comments and suggestions are needed and welcome!!!
Idk if you'll respond to this but ive been looking for a good quality deli meat slicer, like sandwhich meat and i see this advertised sometimes as a deli slicer and other times as a bread slicer and ive been wondering if it'll actually cut deli meat, especially since the grooves in the blade are not your typical deli slicing blade.
This is just a bread slicer. The blade has the wave pattern on the edge which is great for bread, but probably not helpful with meat. From what I’ve seen of meat slicers at deli’s and such, the blades have smooth edges. I also think it would be hard to keep clean if you sliced meat with it. I hope this answer helps! Let me know if you have any more questions.
That’s a great question! Go into the automower app, then into maps, and scroll down through all the work areas, stay out zones and the paths to the work areas. When you see the one you want to edit, click on that one. On the next screen, you can make it inactive or delete it. I hope that helps!
Very helpful videos with info I haven't seen elsewhere, thank you. You mention you had mounted the reference station on some steps as a temporary solution. Did you have to re-make all the zones when you put up a permanent pole or is it OK to move the reference station? I would like to have a temporary solution for my reference station too, so I can get started, as I will need professional help to mount it on my roof
Thank you for your comment and questions. I went ahead last season and put in all my work areas with the reference station on my "temporary' location, which is on an aluminum ladder. I had planned to replace the ladder with a wooden post at the same location and height. Sadly (and pathetically!), I have not done this. I did remove the box which it sat on since that got wet in the rain and began to fall apart. This made it about 6 inches lower and doesn't seem to interfere with the mower's working ability at all. I was wondering about moving it to a totally new location as well. The owner's manual states that "the items on the map will change position if you move the reference station. Adjust the items on the map or do the installation again in the Automower Connect app." I might just have to move it and see what happens!!!! I remember reading or seeing a video from Husqvarna that does NOT advise putting the reference station on a building or house. I believe they did suggest this in the past, but no longer do. I hope this helps you.
@momsmachines5476 Very helpful thank you. I have put reference station on a pole in the best possible position (just so I could get started, my previous Automower 450X with boundary-wire has got old and tired, wire needing repair etc. and I decided to replace it with 520 EPOS ... but the grass needed cutting NOW! so "temporary" for starters). The pole looks an eyesore where it is (I knew it would), so once the grass is under control I want to find best location. Interesting about roof advice; my understanding was roof would be best (might be different here in UK with building materials / building height and elevation of satellites in sky from our latitude ...). I've only had the EPOS a few days but compared to previous 450X it is SO much better. No wire problems, obviously, but the ability to set areas suits me really well, and pattern-mowing covered the whole area in much less time than random did (previously needed 3-days-continuous after break if grass had got long, new EPOS did the whole area in 24 hours). I have a large garden and complex lawn layout / paths etc. I started with mapping perimeter to create one work area, and then did stay-out zones for each flowerbed etc. but I need it to mow different areas in different directions - everything "on the wonk" doesn't look right! - but thanks to your advice I will hold off making all the work areas until I have permanent position for reference station. I will have loads of waypoints and adjusting each will be a lot of effort (unless there is a "Change all THESE by THIS much N-S and THIS much E-W", as I guess they will all be off-by-same-amount; but my experience of Husqvarna APP is that the last 10% of useful functionality is missing, and when I need it that takes 90% of MY time!) I had 5 existing Automowers (4 distinct areas with fences between), and the other area the boundary wire, with all the stay out zones, was too long, so had to split into 2 mowers). The other benefit, for me (which I had not anticipated), is that I can just take the new EPOS mower to one of my other mower zones, create a Work Area, and then I have "cover" for any of the other mowers which get sick / break-a-wire. I can see me replacing all the old ones with EPOS. But I will need to raid a bank!
It keeps the area mowed, so it goes out each day and mows different areas and is on an auto schedule. I couldn’t say how long it would take since it doesn’t mow like you would mow your grass once a week.
Very helpful, just purchased a 2022 Renegade RV on the S2RV chassis, going to start putting together similar survival kit. And first I heard of the App, downloading now. Thanks so much.
I’m glad you found the video helpful and thank you for watching!!! Bobby with Freightliner is very knowledgable and helpful. Let me know how you like the app. and also the toll free help number.
I have never set it back to the factory default, but will look into that. I do notice, however, that when I move furniture around, both the S9+ and M6 seem to remap the areas. I usually do the "map everywhere" mode. Also, you can go in and remap different areas and change room dividers, etc.
Hi Julie! Thanks for the question. I have a few power strips, but they are not out where Christine will go anyway, so I couldn't answer that question with 100% confidence. However, I do have some carpets (the LLBean waterhog mats) and Christine does not spray these. The mats are lower than my power strip. Maybe I will pull a power strip out and try it!!
Hi Scott! Thank you for your question. The Keyboard star is a dual keyboard stand. (You can get stands for up to 4 or 5 keyboards. I believe the brand is Jansen and my brother purchased it from a company call Thomas Music. I hope this helps!
Its hard to get the full sound through the video. For example, in the video, we talk about the air sounds from the actual pipe organ, but that does not come through on the video. He also plans to upgrade the speakers. Of course, nothing replaces sitting in the church and listening to the organ!!
Thank you for asking that question. I delayed getting a bread slicer for a good many years. As I mentioned in the video, I liked the ones in the grocery store bakeries, but they are huge and slice the whole loaf at one time. We have bean using a bread cutting knife until I finally found this slicer. As @robertwiebe6145 says, it makes a perfect slice every time! It was so easy to use and cut through the bread amazingly!
@@momsmachines5476Have knives suddenly lost the ability to cut perfect slices one at a time? Granted, this does offer the thrill of more easily losing a finger...
What is best about this is that it will cut almost any loaf including sourdough bread which at times can be difficult with a very good bread knife. The blade is below the surface which helps finish the cut in a clean manner. This is very reasonable and seems very practical. Although knives are less expensive.
Very good point on pointing out how the blade on the bread slicer is below the surface! Maybe I will have to have a bread slicing competition between the bread slicer and a knife.
Hauptwerk has put pipe organs in the hands of thousands who'd never afford to have one. I retro fitted a number of dead Conn 653 and other consoles with midiboutique controllers to give those old electronic organs a new life with sounds that their designers could only dream off. I also have wired up a number of pedal manuals to provide an economical solution since even the pedal manuals are pricey for set ups just like this one.
