He picked his nose 5 times and and scratched his head once sucked on a dirty pipe and sculled some bourbon then fantasised about girls then sculled some more bourbon sucked on his dirty pipe some more then fell in love with a bulldog picked his nose again sculled another swig picked his nose held up his wife’s box and finally pulled out a savinelli
Great relaxed conversational review. Trying a few cigars but will now try the pipe as like the idea of a quality but smaller dose. This tobacco sounds like a good option, thanks.
Oh yes. I have four Rossi's and five Savinelli's. To be honest my Rossi's smoke just as good as my Savinelli's. Most of my collection is vintage Dr. Grabows, vintage Kaywoodies, old Willards, and some Mastercraft pipes. I have a few John Middleton pipes from the 40s and 50s also. But my Savinelli's and Rossi's get smoked the most.
Hi brother I hope you’re doing well I have a question We all know there are many blends that either cased or topped with alcoholic beverages, My question is: 1- does all the alcohol evaporates during the smoking process 2- in other words does the alcohol enters our system when we smoke these blends
This is a very mild tasty and cool smoking tobacco with a cult following. It’s strong in nicotine but gentle in pretty much every other department. I just cracked another tin and I’m delighted to taste it again.
My Savinelli journey didn’t start so well. My 1st and only Savinelli is a 320KS, and the draft hole at the button came to me at under 2mm, and trying to get the flame drawn down to light the tobacco was like trying to suck a thick malted shake through a straw. When I took the stem off I could barely feel air being blown thru it. I had to drill out the hole on the button end up to the bend with a 2.5mm drill bit. After doing that the air flows through it very good now. I’m not giving up on Savinelli, but unfortunately didn’t have the best first impression.
More than half the pipes in my rotation are Savinelli pipes. I have the 673 in Alligator Red. It is a beautiful pipe, smoked great right out of the box and is my favorite pipe.
Yeah, filters solve so many problems for me - wet smoke, hot smoke, tongue bite, etc. I cannot enjoy Virginia forward blends without a filter. It slightly burns my tongue or throat every time. Filters eliminate that problem. I prefer 9mm, but Savinelli makes a 5-hole 6mm that works pretty good! The balsa filters work good for my cob pipes.
The weight issue is more true as compared to basic or hand-made pipes, I think, which can be quite a bit heavier. Brands of the same level are more or less comparable. Big Ben and Peterson are similar in weight overall. I have found Vauen to be on the heavier side, though not uncomfortable and, for the most part, quite enjoyable. Then, there is also the shape. Some shapes are by size and design lighter, e.g., for hands-free smoking, while others can be either heavier, bulkier, or both. So, e.g., of the Savinellis, my Siena is quite bulky, but light, while my old and trusted Aurelia (almost an Antique now, second pipe I bought back in 2000) is slightly heavier, while smaller. Probably my absolute lightest (and also one of my top three) is the 207 Avorio; I have yet to smoke a lighter pipe. But here's the thing: it is actually the same weight as one of my bent Big Bens, and yet I *perceive* the Avorio lighter. This is because of the shape and balance, not actual weight. Savinelli pipes are indeed excellent, won't argue with that. Superior, in my view, to many others. Actually, I would rate them higher than Dunhill which are, of course, excellent, but are massively overpriced, with a pipe comparable in quality to a higher-tier Savinelli costing two or three times more. I have yet to find a good reason to shell out £600 on a pipe. I will add a small caveat. You can find an off the rack, cheaper pipe which could be excellent in quality, even superior to branded ones. Where the problem lies is that this is hit and miss, and a matter of chance, while an established pipe-maker offers a certain consistency of quality. So, buying a Savinelli, or even a Vauen carries with it quality guarantee, it will always be a good pipe. And if something is or goes wrong, they can replace it. With a mystery pipe you are essentially leaving it to chance.
The cob is really a Summer pipe. In the US it’s historically been more popular in the South where it gets very humid in the Summer months. A cob dries out much quicker than a briar and seems to just work better in that season.
Hi Thomas! You bought some really nice pipes here! I also once bought a Georg Jensen 50th Anniversary pipe as an estate and it also has putty spots. It smokes very well but I sure was surprised that a handmade anniversary pipe has such defects. Thanks for the interesting videos and kind regards, Johannes
Good Morning 😊 Beautiful Pipe 😍 Congrats Mate 👏🏼 The video is good all the way in the far South of Africa 🤣 Have a wonderful day 🙏🏽 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Hello Thomas! I have also started buying high-quality estate pipes and restoring them! I believe that in the next few years a lot more people will smoke pipes. It's simply the perfect antidote to our fast-moving AI world. I'm sure you made a good investment! Kind regards from Austria Johannes
Hi Tomas! Thanks for sharing your way to smoking a pipe. I started one month ago, and in the beginning, I did it several times a day, and it's completely not the that's i enjoyed actually, especially if i did it during my break of the work. And i started to do it in my day off and evening after work. And it's exactly what i really enjoy. With high wishes from Russia.
