Normally they will function okay for a little while. Pat, if the clutches we're in water long enough. The friction material will start chipping off of them in time. You could get lucky though and have it last as long as any used transmission. Only one way to find out
Thanks for the instruction. I switched the passenger side with the drivers side being the insides of the seats aren't worn and they end up on the outside all in all it worked great just needs a little trim on one side of the part that grabs the seat you'll figure it out.
Hey, if you have a video on it or provide some guidance on the drop spindle. I tried using a cheap amazon one and the upper control arm bolt will dig into the CV axle. I guess the remedy is to cut it shorter but by how much or more importantly, is that even safe? I been searching on RU-vid but no one covers this. I appreciate any advice, you know what you’re doing and I know you reply to your comments. The bottom control arm needs about 1/2in cut off the bolt or minimum 20” rims in my experience with this Amazon one.
I appreciate you asking this question, it helps get these things covered. You will need to cut the bolt and yes it’s safe, but you will need the shallow locking nut to replace the bigger one that’s usually there. Something like this www.amazon.com/Quality-Suspension-Advantage-Spindle-Hardware/dp/B07MWK1TT6 But you may be able to also cut up to the nut you have now and still be fine as long as it’s locking and not a basic nut.
But yes the upper does need to be cut as well being the drop spindles are moving everything like axle and hub closer to the fender with out putting your control arms at a bad angle.
Did you ever diagnose the shake? From other sources, a >4 in drop the yoke can butt up against the trans. Whatever it was hope the truck is going well. Thanks for your content
Yessir I’m pretty sure it’s the driveshaft angle, I have to shim it up. But trucks been down lately haven’t had time to messing with it and fixing everything. I appreciate you from watching it, Means a lot!
probably the stupidest thing I’ve seen putting a L 84 when they have higher and lifter failure rate then the L83 three or regular old ls for the money I would’ve just put a built LS
Maybe I didn’t catch it in the video, but after I saw you already changed the break pedal you can do the hydro brake that’s connected to the power steering instead of the vacuum brake system with the booster
Would you be interested in doing my 05s LLY head gasket and injectors? lol. Here in GA I’m getting charged practically 17k to do the work. Sure it’ll have new PPE pipes, up bridge etc but….. idk if it’s worth the 17k
Yea 17k is a lot I feel, especially being the injectors have to come out anyway so tht should be little to nothing in my opinion. I feel Thts a solid $10-12k job maybe but i definitely don’t know what parts they quoted lol so just a very rough estimate.
Idk man, personally I like keeping the old panels and wrapping them in soft touch/leather fabric. Same with dash and centre console with custom embroidery stitching
