So guys first and foremost don’t let something so simple be the reason you just give your truck away. Not everything’s impossible to fix, luckily I got the good end of the deal with this thing.
I picked up a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500hd 6.6l duramax 4x4. The truck has been sitting for about a year before I got it. So the guy told me “the oil pan was making milkshakes” 😂 Oh I cracked up! So later on went to telling me there was a slight knock also, so when I found the truck I did some research and found a lot on the water pump issues they have and can lead to leaking water into the oil pan. So I figure I would try my luck, well when he mentioned KNOCK I was like woah, almost changed my mind, then I ducked it up and was gonna just rebuild the engine if I needed too, or replace it.
Come to find out the duramax engine has a freeze plug behind the water pump (which had been bad) that popped out because he kept adding water to the truck instead of coolant. So I went ahead and through my new one I had for my lbz on to this truck and tig welded the gear to the shaft like they should be, and now here we are 2 days into raw dogging an lml to see how long she will last. 🙂
