When you dragged the picture into the rectangle it automatically fitted in the space, how do you do that? And also, how can I add more backgrounds into my selection? I only have 60
Thank you for this! The only issue that can really come up is actually the registration marks. For me, my machine will not read registration marks unless they are at the default. It's absolutely crazy, but that's how my machine rolls. So, if anyone has issues with registration errors, try setting the marks at default and moving the designs around to fit correctly...clearly, for this project, it would be a two-pager! ETA...... I posted this before it was addressed in the video! LOL
I can’t get my background to move like you can. I have tried it on numerous different images and types of images. I have to be doing something wrong but I can’t figure it out. How do you get the background to move? I can only get bits and pieces to move on my image not the background.
Very helpful! Why do I have to cut via the line tab? Am I able to cut and sketch from the simple tab? Also, does it matter if I cut or sketch first? Or does silhouette know which order to do things?

Au lieu d'un nombre positif pour extruder vers le haut, entrez un nombre négatif pour extruder vers le bas ou dans la base de la forme. vous devrez peut-être rendre la base un peu plus haute hello :) I think I understand your question but if not, feel free to clarify. Instead of a positive number to extrude upwards, enter a negative number to extrude down or into the base of the shape. you may need to make the base a little taller
you cannot use this without the 3d printer it doesn't give stl files, to use in other slicers why doesn't the company tell people its worthless outside of their printers, this video is worthless unless you have their printer
Yes. The cameo 4 has a flat backed blade with the metal piece on it. No other versions are like that. Make sure you've got the correct blade. They're labeled 1 & 2. Silhouette updated the blade colors and names recently. It could be labeled as A & B. Here's a good matrix that shows what blade works in the various machines. www.silhouetteamerica.com/tools 1/A is the main slot on the left. The right holder is for special tools like the rotary blade and the punch tool. If you look closely at the blades you'll see the grooves are different. Align the grooves with the slot in the blade holder and it should slide into the holder. you may need to give it a little push to click into place. There should be no gaps. If there are, it isn't seated fully and will not adjust correctly causing poor cuts.
I am switching from a Cricut Maker to a Silhouette 4 - it has sat here for a couple weeks because I was too intimidated to try to use it. This instruction was simple and easy to follow!! Im finally ready to try my first cut!! Thank you!!!

You are a lifesaver! I've been trying to use my machine for days and could never get a good cut. Come to find out my blade was not locked!!! Thanks so much for this video!!!
I have been fighting with my Cameo all weekend, so disappointed my designs were not cutting correctly. My blade was not inserted correctly! You video was so helpful Thank you!
Tool holder 1, left side. Be sure to use the adapter if using a blue or black older style blade. They are being phased out and replaced by what they call the "manual" blade now. Still ratchet style & still need manual blade adjustment. :)
Hi Dina, I’m trying to curve words that I have grouped together and it doesn’t work. I’ve done it like you’ve shown where I type a whole line and it lets me do it. Is there something that needs to be done for words that have been grouped together? Thanks
Hi Mary :) Curving text like this only works on text that has not been changed by grouping or converting to a path. If you have changed them and need the text to be a certain shape you can try to use the object to path. That tool is found under the replicate panel - right toolbar. I have a video showing basics of this function. You can use object to path on an open or closed path very much like the text curve function as shown in this video.
If you're using the silhouette software per this video - studio3d, you cannot. There is not an export function. They toyed with the idea of a pro version of that software but kind of abandoned it. TBH, they haven't updated that software in over a year...maybe 2 now. You can use the same concept of creating the shape in Silhouette Studio and then export that as an SVG. (You'll need the business edition purchased upgrade to export as an SVG.) Then you can use that SVG in tinkercad.com then build your 3D model from there.
My cameo 4 is cutting wonky, ends of letters don’t meet, cuts are jagged… I’ve tried cleaning the blade and cleaning the mat, which is still sticky… I can’t figure out what’s wrong.
Is it every cut or just certain designs? If it is certain designs, you can double-click the design to access the nodes for editing. Any red dots you may see are open nodes. This could explain why some letters aren't completely cut. It would also explain jagged cuts if there are an over excessive amount of nodes. That can come from a trace or a poorly created design. If it is every cut/design then you may have a software bug. Firest, ensure your blade is properly inserted with no gaps. If that's good to go then it is likely software related. I've seen many ppl report issues in 4.4.920. If that's the version you have (help > about) then I'd suggest an uninstall of that version and go to www.silhouetteamerica.com/software/ss/download then scroll down the page until you see LEGACY VERSIONS and grab one of those to try.
