THIS IS A REASON WHY (mostly) EVERYBODY LIKES/RESPECTS CROSBY. I honestly really hope this makes a statement in the league if the Penguins go deep in the next 3 years. I don't blame players for demanding more money. It's no different than questioning management for a pay raise at work when you've been a great asset to their business/franchise for years. Which rises the sporting question again. would you rather win or make bank? There's no wrong answer here, only just subtle consequences. And if you do both, then you're something special and definitely worth the peak you're earning. Man, I'm so glad I got to see the greatest Captain of our era play, and score! It'll be a hockey night in Pittsburgh soon, I can't wait.
I LOL'ed that after all that. It was basically the same deal he's had for the past 12 years. Love it though. I wonder if that means he plans on playing just 2 more years after this. It definitely brings me into a retrospective view of his career and to stop taking him for granted, because there will truly never be another one like him.

As a fellow Maritimer who lived 10 minutes from where Sid grew up I said it time and time again this captain will go down with his ship and 8.7 mil this is a team first guy now I just hope the rest of the team really gives him some help this year
What did you think of Brunicke? To me he’s looked like the best dman in every single game. I never watched him before this tournament so I was shocked how good he looks. Genuinely looks like he’s got #1 dman potential

I can't even believe how awesome Sid is. He left so much money on the table just for the sake of the team's cap space. He literally might be the most unselfish person ever.
I figured he would resign for 8.7m/year. He could've signed for more, but going into his late 30s, I don't think he cares to make more, and he wants to help this team.
Surprisingly, Penguins were ranked 30th out of 32 NHL teams in Power Rankings by Ryan Dixon of Sportsnet in Canada. Really are we expected to be that bad? Only Calgary and San Jose were ranked worse
Happy birthday pat! I like cody glass. Big body with some speed and skill. Just hasnt been consistent in the nhl yet. Maybe he never gets there but I like to think he will and that injuries are apart of it. I don't think he'll ever be as good as his draft year projection of top line player but that's OK. A bottom 6 role is what the penguins need him at.
I'm so excited for even just the prospect challenge and training camp, I need hockey so badly lol. I'm intrigued by the bottom six battles and the battle for the last defense pairing. There's like Puustinen, Puljujarvi, Bemstrom, and others all battling for one spot, and then there's the logjam on d too with Ludvig, St. Ivany, Shea, Aho. Should be interesting.
Could Crosby take minimum pay and ask the organisation to make $10 million a year charity contributions per year that he is there? Or would this go against financial fair play over there? Sounds like the kind of thing he may be on board with.
Even though its still not done, ive never worried that crosby wouldnt sign an extension. He is this era's pittsburgh penguins and why would he push soo hard to help get malkin and letang resigned and then turn around and leave. Its a shame tanner howe got injured. Was looking forward to seeing him play. Is the challenge going to be televised or streamed and if soo where?
I live in the PNW and love going to watch the Penguins.i watched then last year in Seattle after returning from my overseas deployment with the Navy. Sadly due to finances i wont watch them play the Kraken this year. One of these days i will make it to Pittsburgh again to watch the Penguins live in Pittsburgh.

I know you guys want to be open-minded to the different narratives, but to me this quote makes it pretty clear. Crosby isn't going anywhere regardless of the trajectory of the team. Hopefully he can go out on a high note but he seems locked in no matter what
Hey hey guys.....don't go after my Canadian news. Lol. The whole "Crosby hasn't signed" yes rumors, and there were American too....come on, hockey IS Canada. So, for our son not to have signed, lingering rumor about Montréal (his favorite team growing up) and the thought Sid plays for a 🇨🇦 city, I hope you can see how the 🇨🇦 media took it and ran. As for monies, and we all have our opinions, I think it'll be 3 year extention and 9.87 mill, 10.87 mill, and 11.87 mill. AAV is 10.87 mill. Just my thoughts. Guys, hockey this camp feels different, and I mean there is going to be competition from goalies, defenceman, bottom 6, even top 2 lines......something we haven't had in awhile. It's going to be very interesting ❤
Big media talking heads should be embarrassed. He said in the article that the only thing holding him up is thinking about how long he wants to continue playing. Not to brag but that's exactly what I said on the last Crosby episode... Why do we have better intuition than them? Who gave them their jobs?

I agree with you guys on Hayes. Except, with all the hype around Rudger, Crosby's extension, the battle for the bottom 6, etc, Hayes is flying under the radar. So, what does that mean.......well, he wins face-offs, he's a playmaker, solid 3C, AND he'll have better wingers with him! That will make a huge difference, guys. His possible "bounce back" isn't as far-fetched as you may think. I would feel very comfortable with predicting a 42-46 point season. I think he'll surprise Pens fans. Love your show. Kevin hayes could be a steal if he gets back to the way he played on the flyers roster. Him plus a 3rd and 2nd rd pick for a 5th rd pick. He could be a big help in the next 2 seasons.
I'm honestly surprised that Sam Poulin isn't on the roster....Granted I know he's not really a prospect per se , but the fact he hasn't been able too crack the lineup with significant NHL time I feel it would benefit him to get as much play as possible. This is a make or break it year for him to have any chance of being a mainstay in the bigs for the Penguins.
Koivunen going to be really good NHL-player at some point. I'm not saying he's ready to play NHL right now but in two years I think he's going to get spot in Penguins NHL-roster. Reminds me a lot of Sebastian Aho. And I speak Aho who play for Hurricanes. Not this new Penguins D-men who's also Sebastian Aho. Koivunen is second best Penguins forward-prospect. Only McGroarty is ahead. And thanks guys for doing this. It's always fun to listen to you 🙂
I’m an Ovechkin fan, but Crosby is two years younger, which is a lot when you’re in your late 30’s. Crosby also seems more determined to always try to improve which is no matter age crucial. All the way back in 2005 I thought to myself. I think this guy will play 25 NHL seasons. That will obviously happen it seems these days. I just hope Ovechkin finds that inner drive to continue as well. If he finds the. Motivation he will be able, if not he will be gone in two years.
