So the story behind Space Mountain is literally Jules Verne's "From the Earth to the Mooon". Americans build a giant cannon and shoot a bullet shaped ship and go to the moon. There is even an original score for the ride if you search it on google. It gives John Williams vibes with a bit of E.T. ALL DLP rides have more thrill because they had to compete with other European theme parks. Disney simplh did not culturally adapt to Europe (and to this day they are still fixing the issues). Currently Disney Paris is treated the worst, always getting the short of of the stick. For example, we don't get big expansions anymore, we just get a themed corner... We have the smallest Avengers campus, a super tiny Toys area (not even a land), and in the castle park, we haven't gotten a new ride since Space mountains debut in 1995... We love our park, but it doesn't get the attention it deserves :/
I'm in tears! I stopped running about 8 ish years ago - my last was the Princess Glass Slipper Challenge. We saw Tinkerbell running so incredibly fast and finishing as we were just beginning.I don't think I'll ever forget that moment. I recently started running again - I just completed the first virtual 5k in the summer dole whip challenge. Horrible time, but I did it and just want to improve for the next one. Your videos and the Rise and Run podcast have been so motivating and inspirational <3
I'm not 100% sure but I believe I spent about 120 euros on the manger and figurines combined. That was the 1 thing I really wanted and I specifically wanted really good quality, so everything was hand-carved.
Great work! I'm running Berlin this Fall 2024 and I'm looking forward to the event because it'll be my redemption race following a very hard London Marathon in April. I can't wait to see more of your journeys!
Im in the middle of my training and jist wanted to say you are such an inspiration. I was crying throughout your video. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being you.
I knooooww, I'm sorry! I'm actually taking a little bit of a break from running at the moment. Dealing with some burnout so I'm just taking some time for myself to fall in love with running again! :)
I'm binging a bunch of NYC Marathon videos, as my partner just got in so I'm flying over to support but I can tell you something, as excited as I am to watch him speed his way through the 26.2 miles and be super proud of him I CANNOT WAIT to also head back out onto the streets and cheer on the back of the packers who run at speeds like me, and be in awe of you all managing the distance!! I'm tearing up to your video, I just adore the people like you who surround me at races (No way am I ready for 26 miles, I'm still on the 10K distance lol!) - what a celebration!!
I'm guilty of it too. lol When I ran the Berlin Marathon, I definitely was eating things that I didn't normally eat leading up to race day and my stomach was a mess halfway through. Learned my lesson though! lol
You did a fantastic job covering the race! I was somewhere in the mix there that night. And it indeed was warm... I know midway through the race I was working up a pretty good sweat on it. My "go" mile was around mile 7 or 8 and I think the heat sort of zapped any sort of 2nd wind. I still finished okay and well within my goal pace but I would've liked to have gone a little faster. I've done the race every year since its inception and while it may not seem hot out there, it is super dry and hydrating leading up to the start is so important. At least it wasn't windy this year.
Awww! Thank you so much! Congrats on your finish for the race! It was so warm...Not used to that desert heat. lol I've definitely learned my lesson, and will hydrate better the next time I run this race.
Lol! I was only there for a short 2 days so I didn't get to do too much, but I do have the expo coming for this race as well as a MGM Grand room tour:)
@passporttorun oh, I stayed at MGM Grand once a few years ago. Also, at Paris. MGM was so much nicer than the stupid Paris hotel. That one's a genuine tourist trap. So, good choice. I don't particularly like Vegas, but I would go back for a twilight race. That looked awesome.
@@dmkouznet It was definitely a good race! Would probably just sign up for the 5k and 10k next time, but would definitely recommend doing the half at least once. Looking in to hopefully doing the Rock n' Roll DC Half Marathon within the next year or two!
It was so much fun! Unfortunately not doing Wine and Dine this coming year, but am signed up for Disneyland Halloween Weekend and Dopey Challenge for 2025!
I have loved listening to the Rise and Run podcast, and now I love viewing your Passport to Run videos. I’ve not yet done a Disney run, hoping to do Wine and Dine this year. You seem so awesome, fun and funny, and I feel so inspired by you!
Love your videos! I’m going to try my first dopey in 2025! Just a suggestion but I’d love to see a collection video of all the medals you have got from any running event!
Definitely a beautiful course! Running through Pixar Pier was my favorite part! Are you planning for the Halloween Weekend Races or the next Disneyland Race Weekend?
When I was in the corrals, I said to my friend how those reflectors were a menace and someone was gonna hurt themselves. I hope you’re OK. Thanks for recording the race. It’s really great to go back relive some of those great memories
Thank you for asking. It was definitely a hard fall, but luckily I was almost to the finish and the medical tent was right there:) Those reflectors were a huge tripping hazard, and will definitely make sure that I am looking at the ground more on the next race. And thank you so much! I've been dreaming about running at Disneyland for a while now, and so happy to have had the chance to run it. There's are a good bit of things that Disneyland needs to change for the races, but overall I would definitely go back and run at Disneyland again.
They truly were awful. lol I was worried about tripping on them the whole back half of the race. And thank you! Still had a lot of fun despite the fall:)
Right?! lol Glad you were able to catch yourself! I heard of sooo many people tripping and falling during this race. The one thing that made this race hard was all the tripping hazards out on the road.
As a WDW runner the amount of obstacles on this course, train/trolly tracks, reflectors, garbage cans, speed bumps, 180 degree turns, potentially slippery boardwalk, on this course without the familiar "caution runner ______ ahead" was the biggest downgrade from the WDW races. I was running with the 2:00 pace group and one of the pacers tripped on the train tracks around mile 8 in Anaheim. @@passporttorun
You are so inspiring. I did the 10k and half virtually. With a bit more training I’ll be able to do these in person and not get swept. Your videos keep my fire lit. Thank you for posting. Hope to see you in the race soon.
Spotted myself a few times in this. Nice to get a POV of how the course was when I ran through it, without dealing with filming...I just dealt with switching up what hand I was carrying my helmet with (Boba Fett).
I'm so sorry that happened. I hope you come back for another race sometime soon! Marathon Weekend is my ultimate favorite race weekend. It's always sad when the race gets cut due to weather.
