The best version...however was publiched another in the album Dirty work...i listened this album just few time later of to be publiched but i bought on a cassette tape 1988...
On this version it is easier to hear Mick shout a well deserved "whoa!" right after Merry's voice cracks on the word "murder". Its buried in the mix but still audible on the final version. That too gave me chills. In this version you can hear a slight crack the second time Merry sings the word "shot" which I hadn't noticed before. On the Queen Latifah show she said that she sang with so much emotion while thinking of the events of the era. She poured all of that into the vocal and it is easy to hear the pain, suffering and confusion that everyone was ferling in 1968.
Keith had some ears on him, even then, huh.. It was only a few years after this picture that his grandfather Gus started teaching little Keef his first guitar lesson.
Great version! Merry Clayton absolutely has an amazing voice. When I listen it sounds like “Hey…Verna…it’s just a shot away”. Lol just me wishing to hear my name in a song 😉 I watch often The Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter (live) OFFICIAL PROMO 35 million views. They sing together, then she sings solo with magnificent voice and dance
1:40. Mick Taylor is great but let’s never forget Keith sets the groove. For over a minute and a half they are both just riffin until Keith sends the signal with this simple riff saying “ok let’s go”
I dunno, Lisa is a force of Nature,, I have to say she is very, very, very hot in her Delivery, so is Merry, so is Sosha, it hard to say, I Love them all, I go back to the beginning, home base when I got the Blues, RAMBLIN, jűs sāyīn !😎✌️😎!
people have a hard time having to deal with Ron Wood when listening to Mick Taylor. they find themselves apologizing to Wood for Taylor's greatness. but folks. Taylor was BEFORE WOOD. and... if Ron Wood replaced Clapton in Cream, would the band be the same? don't be afraid to say that Taylor's era was tops... it was.......
So sweet. Innocent children, pupils at school, and faith had them meet again in a train station 🚉 It's really great to meet again and renew friendship, and climb up in fantastic music career. From me in Israel, great admiration, and appreciation 👍🎩💙🌴🙏
