I was a bit late to the party on this one, but really glad i watched it. Im surprised I haven't seen more video essays on this show because it is so powerful, from the plot to the cinematography. Your intro was awesome, and your narration made me cry again. We need more love for this show

Dude you are so WRONG! This was not the best KDrama! This show was the BEST drama that I have EVER watched. Period! You laughed, cried, rooted for, and wondered at each of these characters. Na Hee Do is my new heroine. The music was great. I downloaded some of the songs and they remain me so much of the joy & pain of the show. I guess it resonates so much, to me at least, because most of us have lived these very same lives.

😭So there was Hyeseon minding her own business, seemingly oblivious to Minji intruding on her date. I liked Minji when she first came in and when she was flirting with Jinseok. She completely lost me when she told GH she wish he wouldn’t wear green because Hyeseon was wearing the same colour. But this helicopter scene was Minji’s undoing, cos you’re right it was super embarrassing. Especially as she’d only known GH for 4/5 days (if that).

Minji definitely made her presence known. Gwanhee was open at that point to getting to know her, cos Hyeseon has just taken Wonik to Paradise, also none of the guys thought Hyeseon liked him. Honestly at that point I felt like if Hyeseon had other options, she was moving on from Gwanhee.
When Hyeseon said Gwanhee spoke to her after the campfire, she said she felt like a backup. But I actually felt like he was checking in with her, because they agreed in episode one that they should get to know everyone else and then decided whether they wanted to come back to each other. She was the one that actually suggested it, so I feel like folk are a little bit hard on Gwanhee. Everyone needs to remember this was only day 5.
They performed this live on Fallon at Grand Central Station. Rented the whole place in the middle of the night to do it. Also used UCLA’s marching band in the recording!
4:15 I feel like this is so relatable. I DESPISE crying. Hate it. When I went and watched “A Star is Born” when I realized that the character kills himself, I was PISSED. I had to feed into my anger because I did NOT want to “feel”. I would have never watched the movie had I known that.
