I smashed the Subscribe button as soon as I heard The Droids at 04:24, just to find I had already subscribed before. As a result, I had the pleasure to smash that damn button once again!

Long time no see! Good to have you back! Please share more content. How do you like the Yamaha ck61 as both a stage keyboard and controller? Pros? Cons? I just tried one and think the keys are too much syhthy like, would prefer a semi-weigthed keybed..
Hi, thanks! I always prefer weighted keys, like I have on the Roland Fantom-08 for example. But the CK61 wins it for me because of the great user experience (no touch screens or menus), nice speakers for quick practice and class compliant audio over usb. Also I think the CK61 keys are more suitable for playing piano pieces than the average midi keyboard with synth keys. If you would only use it as a midi controller, there are better options available. It doesn’t have transport controls or a light guide like on the NI keyboards.
Comparing this with real analog synthesizers i always can instantly identify something strange unpleasing in Rolands VA sounds. Something harsh, tendency of metallic and kind of nervy. Also these all have a strictly monophonic signal way and the stereo reverberation and delay is not that great for really improving the sound character at all. Just a simple integrated EQ could improve the basic sound much more. And/or a dual hard panning unison mode for instance could improve the sound character drastically due to simulated analog randomness. However, these old guys at Roland seem to sit on their ears.
Excellent stuff! I have the MC707 (big brother of the 101) are the sounds named the same on there? I don't find the sound browser 'that' intuitive on the 707. I do recognise some of the names, I think, so hopefully so. :)
Never knew this synth had such great potential... Sounds so rich and analogish... These are the kind of sounds you get to hear in armin Van buuren state of trance radio show...
