How is the camera with handling loud noise? I like going to a lot of car events which can produce some loud noise and was just wondering how that would sound with the camcorder. I can always get an external mic too I assume.
I JUST DID ALL THIS BUT I HAVE A PROBLEM. The mp4 file is "... could not e opened. The file isn't compatible with QuickTime Player." If it's an mp4, it should be. I used all the same settings you did 480p30, etc. ADVICE?
Is it that the disc wasn't "Finalized"? This could be a deal breaker as I'm not sure I even have the camcorder any more. Back in the days I was using it, I finalized some but not all. If I cannot find the camcorder in a drawer or box somewhere, is there a workaround? Thanks!
Did you try opening the mp4 file with a different program? Try downloading and using VLC instead of Quicktime. If VLC can't open it then it must be an issue with the file itself.
@@erasertech16 Hi there. I did something else, which was to try one of my mini-DVDs that I marked "F" for finalized. And bingo, it worked! So now I will look for that old camcorder. It was a nice technology and better in many ways than iPhone. But time marches on. If I can't get my hands on a camcorder I will try your suggestion. THANKS!

That's cool! Where does the VHF channel work? Where I live there was a mexican-american analog channel that worked a few years ago but it eventually got shut down.
It does have manual focus but it's not easy to use. The camcorder does not have a physical button or slider to adjust the focus manually so you have to do it using the digital screen. Not easy but also not impossible.
What is the best audio settings do you believe? 5.1 channel or 2 ch, and recommended volume levels? I find it has a noticeable hiss sound with the internal mic which is common with camcorders but even this one. Any suggestion on how to counter this slightly but still give out a nice clear audio??

Would a camcorder be better to film closer up things like electronics? The autofocus on mirrorless camera and my iphone 15 pm struggle to keep focus and someone suggested maybe getting a camcorder?
Yeah this camcorder has a great focus on short focal lengths. However only when the camera is not zoomed. So you have to get close to the subject. Maybe I'll make a video showing that.
14 year old Greek technician here. So, you mentioned your Asus DVD drive doesn't recognize the Mini DVD'S? The model of the DVD drive that your Asus has, is the same model my laptop DVD drive is, and it reads it perfectly fine. Maybe the dvd drive tried to seek for a file that was out of range and the laser just..lost focus. That maybe be a seek error. I personally use a program that will automatically calibrate the speed and scanning patterns for your DVD drive. I hope I helped! 😊 P.S I'm still 14 correct me if I made a mistake. Also I'll make a video about my DVD drive.
No, it only has the proprietary power connection to charge. The good thing is that you can find portable battery chargers from generic brands for real cheap online.
Hi friend, congratulations on the video. Can you tell me if it records in MP4, and if with good lighting I can make videos at night? And as for the battery, it lasts a long time and most importantly: Does it have a microphone input?
It does record directly on MP4 but only on the lower resolution settings. The battery I got lasts approximately 2 hours of use. It's a third party battery though and you can buy other ones with better capacity. Yes, it does have a microphone input and headphone jack for monitoring. Unfortunately the low light quality is not that great.
Camcorder video out to Mac computer. Computer not recognizing it, neither is iMovie or QuickTime. Is there a setting on the camera or somewhere in the menu to "export video"? I can't find anything. Thanks for any information -- nice video!
The camera should export video with the RCA cables automatically. It depends on what kind of system/capture device you are using to connect the camcorder to the computer.
Also, if you are using a video out cable that has a 3.5mm connection in the camcorder side, try switching around the yellow/white/red connections in the computer side to see if you get video. Sometimes those cables are proprietary and have different connections.
My family asked me, why did I go out of my way to get a "5 TV and get all these adaptors just to experience a worse picture quality? Because it's fun, that's why!
I used this all the time in 1983 or 1984 I will be dammed to have to connect All those thing... That was the point just pull the antenna up and adjust the video video...Why can't we get original analog signal anymore?.... The world is gonna shut down when there is no power.Or satellite going down
You can't because there are no analog TV signals anymore (at least in the US). You can buy modern versions of this for digital TV but they're not made by Sony and reception seems to not be as good.
I really appreciate you posting this video, I purchased the LG DVD Writer because of it. I was then able to finally get some of my recently deceased Grandmothers mini DVD's converted to MP4 so my entire family could enjoy them. So Thank You so very. much!!!!

@@erasertech16 There is a device called HLLY TVX-50M capable of transmitting VHF/UHF signals to television sets with range about 200 feet. I made a risky move of ordering it, according to RU-vid video it is compatible with NTSC and PAL TV set. Also cannot find the company who made it, the website is long gone.
I might be late to the party but I have a sony DVP-FX930 portable DVD player and I want to connect my phone to it to display my screen is there a way I can do that
You'll probably need an adapter for your phone. Depending on iPhone or Android, it would need to be lightning/USB-C to HDMI. I know there are some adapters that will do that but I've never tried it.

You can but you won't be able to play the files. You need to rip them using software like Handbrake. Check out the video I posted just after this one. I go into detail about that.
