For me it's a cost savings on a individual bases by reducing my water use or the recycling of it for other purposes. I take a shower . I plug the drain and the bath fills while I shower . When I am done I scoop the water out and irrigate outdoor plants . I live in a desert so water is expensive and not an unlimited resource . I could let that water go down the sewer drain but what a waist . I paid for that water and it has value . It also needs to be processed at a sewer plant . For me being single I only wash clothes once every couple weeks . I am mindful washing dishes and my water use . If you think of water as money in your bank account you will have more respect of it . We are just so lazy in our modern lifestyle. I get some exercise hauling that water to the plants .

Clean water is essential for human life. Should access to water be only for the rich? Should health care be only for the rich? Should food be only for the rich? What you are saying is that humans are greedy and will only "focus" on solutions if they get enough money for themselves. The doctors who developed the polio vaccine didn't get rich before their product went to market nor after; they did it because it was the right thing to do. There's a line where humanity's needs are more important than individual's needs. Yes, market forces should drive most commerce in developed countries, but there are circumstances where we, as the greater society, must step in to meet the needs of our own people; in most cases, that would be government. Knowing where that line lies is the hard part.
Many of these are abused though. People don’t take care of their health and rely heavily on healthcare. Same for many other things. People need to be more responsible for themselves.
@@silentnot4812 This is true; people need to maintain themselves properly. However, one can do so to the highest degree and still get cancer or severely injured in a car wreck not their fault. To determine what situation any individual has as to self-responsibility for their health would be impossible and just plain ridiculous, so reasonable health care for all would be the moral and practical approach for a society, particularly in the case of communicable disease. We all have a responsibility to protect others from our own communicable disease, but as indicated before, humans are selfish, lazy and, apparently, easily manipulated as proven by the most recent pandemic. We are our own worst enemy.

5:00 you also forgot one other option that we have for water is a new technology that’s coming out. That’s pulling humidity from the air to produce drinkable water. It’s still in its infancy and takes quite a bit of power but this is where desalination technology was before I was born and assume that this is going to also takeoff and potentially people will have unlimited water in most houses in America. although it may not work in the desert, it should work in about 80% of American homes

Water solution in the mountain west is quite easy, since over 80% of the water goes to agriculture, STOP giving away water for free to ag, and start growing low water use crops. We continue to grow extreme water consuming crops in the desert, crops like almonds. Second step is to STOP sending storm water and treated waste water to the OCEAN from coastal CA cities. Inland cities send both storm water and treated water back into the Colorado River basin. Las Vegas is an example. We have desalinated water in the form of storm water (rain) and treated waste water that can be readily reused. Desalination should be considered after this step. But it really starts in stop giving water away for free.

Clark, I don’t know if you have covered this in a video, but the logic of a Roth is unassailable. Put investments into a Roth and you will do far better over time than will the same investments in anything else.
