The water fountains, canopies... the WHOLE environment sync with the BG music of Tomorrowland!!!! yeahhhh the future is here😭maybe I could watch this all night long... plus it's so amazing how the music sounds different depending on where i'm located😭😭😭 The mechanical echo(?) sounds at the passage from Gardens of Imagination to Tomorrowland are also surreal... with every step deeper into tomorrowland, the music keeps getting more and more complete😭it was mind-blowing!!
That's worse than a Mack launch, maybe the park purposely toned it down as it takes the course too slowly IMO. Just a bit better launch with a slightly higher speed and it would be a GREAT coaster.
AS soon as I saw the launch I said "Geez that's a weak launch for an Intamin Coaster. Oh, hang on, that must be a Mack". And so it was lol. Rest looks spectacular. The only dud element is clearly the cobra roll. This is Mack's first and probably only cobra roll and it shows. Although the pacing is fine, the elements are so smoothed and drawn out that there is no force to them. Cobra Rolls are amongst the most boring elements in a coaster, but they should at least be made to be very snappy.
This is SO good. Short, yes, but that rolling first drop gives literally insane airtime in the back, and then it's just airtime camelback after camelback. LOVE it. I love rolling drops so much instead of drops straight off the lift hill.
I am just going to say it, even though it will be controversial - I am also really happy that Vekoma is using some sort of over the chest restraint. Yes I am glad they are not typical OTSR where you can bang your head, but for me to truly feel secure in a coaster with so many inversions and so much hang time (i.e. for me to feel comfortable enough to have my arms up the entire ride), I still want something that MAKES me feel secure. Maybe because I am quite tall (193.5 cm), with lap bars, sometimes I feel like I can fall out. I will still ride anything though, and on non inverting coasters or coasters with just one inversion, lap bars all the way. But for multi loopers I really do prefer the type of restrain Vekoma is using here. As long as they lock in place and don't tighten during the ride.
I love Vekoma's new track, they are smoother than even the smoothest B&M's. All I keep hoping now is that they do a hyper coaster, as that's what they haven't done yet and I am sure we would all really like to see what they come up with. They used to be my most hated coaster company, but now, honestly, if I was building a park I would go to Vekoma for almost everything. The only other things I would add are an RMC Hybrid. This new launched boomerang looks like a lot of fun! Can't wait to ride one next year.
Flying Dutchmans were actually *really* underrated. I am being serious. I only rode one and admittedly it was brand new, was 2001 at the then Six Flags Geauga Lake called X-Flight and it was seriously good. I see that one is not operating any longer, which is a shame as that was a smooth one and very forceful. Rode it in front, back, middle, was a great ride. The vertical loop was super intense like the pretzel loops on B&M but on your back instead. This Aurora coaster looks just fine, however I have no idea if it's smooth or not, and that is a dealbreaker for me especially on a flying coaster.
It's actually pretty genius for Happy Valley to use the scaffolding of the former mountains for their steampunk theming... Like you're exploring some industrial plant as you're weaving through the ironworks and pipes.
I was stood in this exact spot last week just admiring how good Tron and the land looks. Thanks for a fantastic video, and bringing back the memories already!
So how the heck do those things move without a track? I am used to seeing Planet Coaster creations where they bury the track underground to hide it but that does not work in real life. I find it hard to believe that pre-programmed servo motors would work without crashing into something.
I rode this exact design at Geauga Lake when it was named Mind Eraser. When Six Flags took over a couple seasons later they had a policy where a disabled person could ride twice in a row. That first year they allowed my sister (who uses a blind cane to get around easier) and I to get double rides. After those 6 loops I had to lay down in a bench for a half hour before I started to feel better. That was too much in a row for me. The following season they clarified that the double ride policy was for wheelchair people only.
