hey how's it going I have an e46 with the m52tu28 and my codes for gm vn and sa aren't on my cover for electronics and don't come up through czs when entering my Vin but everything else runs smoothly. when changing up gears the car likes to increase revs (auto to manual swap). without the codes I'm not sure what to do next what can I do from here? bmw e46 328ci 1999 ms42 index
I had idle issues, so I took a look at this and it was even worse than yours. I have 110k km which is about 68k miles. I took off entire intake and cleaned it with supermafrasol over night. Now my Touareg runs as new.
Thankyou for this excellent video, best one out there. Just done this job on an audi A7 and it was incredibly helpful. Some tips from my experience: I had to pre load one of the intake bolts which had a very tight gap when re installing. I think it was the front one. For the egr clamp I used torque of 6nm plus a 90 degree turn to tighten it back up. Also when removing the intake be very careful to remove the tube that connects to the coolant reservoir. You have to disconnect this as it runs over the intake. I tried to lift it over and snapped it off and this delayed my re build. Thanks again!
Great video, will do this soon too, low throttle stutters a bit. Do you plan to add an oil-catch-can? I read that will reduce the build-up from returning.
This exact thing just happened to my 2015 TDI - cold weather - started engine, turned on max heat, heated seats and rear defrost - tonnes of smoke! Great video!
Great and helpful video my American 🇺🇸 friend , just done mine , “ The Beast “ is back 💪 on the road , no more coolant and oil leak ! Car is much more responsive again! And hell yeah saved hell a lot money doing it for myself! Thanks again Last thought “ I think this was leak was the reason my alternator went last year ( burnt down like yours , another great vid from you about replacing that ) 👊
Great video thanks for posting very informative. I had the same thing done at 120,000 miles and now I’m at 180 and it looks like it’s leaking coolant again as well as oil. Does anybody know if there is a permanent fix this issue?
For what it's worth, I am just doing a transmission and differential oil change on my Z3 2.8 manual from year 2000 . It is fitted with a Torsen 25% lsd differential. The oil I am using for the differential is Amsoil Synthetic Severe Gear 75W/110 which appears to be the right oil for the Torsen lsd. For the gearbox, I am using Redline D4 ATF which is recommended on the "moment of ZED" youtube channel.
It definitely helps to drain the oil. I had a fresh oil change a week before I started this project and when I pulled the oil cooler up the top of the motor filled up with oil. I only had coolant on the top of the engine when I started the project. I just need to buy the parts, and finish the project hopefully in the next week or two. Thank you for posting this video. It’s really helpful.
Some beancounter teamed up with VAG engineers to make servicing so convoluted and complex that it would unnecessarily increase the the labour hours to make more money in their service department.
Hi there, great video for this DIY. I have a 2013 Porsche Cayenne diesel, are all the parts listed are the same with the touareg? I'm thinking getting these parts lists for my Cayenne? Thank you.
