hi sir, just saw your video and very great that you utilize it very much with that lenses. May I ask is it all the picture that you took is all SOOC or you got set any film recipe?
Sold it in Feb. of 2023 and ended up getting a SPB317 for a while. Sold that at the beginning of this year and have just been wearing a SARB033 ever since. I've downsized my collection over the last year and pretty much just have a two watch collection. The SARB033 and a DressKX.
I agree. I bought mine in 2019 i think $350 range. I love it. The members of the photography club buy the latest cameras. I juts cant justify the purchse since the images it produces are so good. X100Ts and X-E2 prices are way out there now. I'd love to buy one as a EDC but the price is just nuts. Glad you're still posting videos.
Thanks! I shoot raw and edit in LR. Most of what I do is to use the Classic Chrome preset in LR as a starting point then edit from there (boosting vibrancy, adjusting contrast, highlights, local adjustments, etc). I think there were quite a few in this video that I did the same editing process but with a Classic Neg. profile.
This is the gfx equivalent of the EF 40mm 2.8. Way sharper than it ought to be, light and nimble, enough depth of field but not too much, super natural field of view.
I downgraded from xt3 to xt1 because I love the sensor... Had a taste of xtrans 2 when I shot with XE2 and never got over it even as I kept upgrading to newer bodies.
The field of view is different because the 16mm f2.8 is 28mm shorter in length so is further away from the scene, you would need to move the tripod 28mm closer to have the same field of view as the 16mm f 1.4.
I really enjoy your two videos where you extol the virtues of the X-T1. Your enthusiasm really comes through in these, & your thoughts are supported by strong images. It is indeed a great camera.
Why are we pretending that a full step and a half down is a good thing? Also, how are 'photographers' simping so hard for auto-focus that isnt perfect on any camera off of any brand? So lazy.
I love mine, don't get me wrong but It's all nice until you get the very common issue with the rubber grip peeling off lol Or backlight bleed at the bottom if low light situation and you bring exposure up in post.
The XT1 is a powerful camera. Produces very nice images. It is hampered by being 10 years old. Autofocus can be slow. Video isn’t the best. No IBIS. There is a reason the body sells at $300. If you want to learn on a slow machine, this is a good camera to learn with. Street photography is what I do. Start with the 18-55. Gives you all the focal lengths you might want in one lens. OIS will help in low light shooting or video. Also available for ~$300 used. My two favorite focal length are 23(35) and 35(50). The chrons (23/2,35/2/50/2) should be the lenses you should consider first. Small. Fast. Lightweight. The 27 pancake lens is ~40mm full frame equivalent. The 18 is ~27mm equivalent but have no experience with this lens. The focal length is too wide for me. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
@@anbar5675 Same here! I like small and light! The X-T1 with the 16mm 2.8 is a great example of a setup I have that you barely notice when in hand. It’s almost like there’s no lens on it it’s so light. Haha. The 56 definitely adds some weight to the front, but doesn’t feel too unbalanced, especially if you have a thumb-grip in the hot shoe.
For decades, I have used Fuji 35mm, medium format, and large format film photographic equipment. For years, I have used Fuji APS-C SLR and APS-C mirrorless digital photographic equipment. I am now considering using Fuji medium format digital photographic equipment. I found your video very useful in my decision making.
Just now trying to learn photography. I bought a Nikon d700 last year and just purchased the X-T1 today! Any recommendations on lenses for travel photography?
Tough question to answer not knowing what you like to shoot. For me the best lens to start with is the 18-55mm kit lens. Sharp. Fast starting @ f2.8 but stopping down quickly from there. Very useful zoom range. OIS is helpful with the majority of older bodies lacking IBIS. Used you should fit the lens at ~$300 used. It isn’t tiny and lightweight like a M43 lens but is small enough not to overpower an XE body. Figure out the lengths you like. Wide?Medium? Long? You have that with the 18-55.Then purchase primes. They are sharper. Faster. More expensive than zoom lenses. XC lenses are more plasticy than the XF lenses. That makes them cheaper and lighter. The glass is good. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
great shots. Loved the color tones. Are these SOOC images? would love to know if you have used any specific film simulation in these pics. Thanks so much ❤
I bought my XT1 in 2018 and I love everything about it. I have recently added a few of the old lenses, the 18-55, the 35 f.1;4 , the 60 macro and even though they all have their fair share of criticism, I love them and they produce great photos. Especially the kit zoom 18-55 makes a big difference because of the image stabilizer. I have to say that the camera is Ten years old at this point, and it’s starting to show, so I’m planning to upgrade. Probably to an XT5 even though I don’t need 40 megapixels. But the Ibis and the big battery and the autofocus, yes please. Great video. ❤❤❤
I shoot raw and edit in Lightroom. I like to use the Classic Chrome preset as a base and build from there (add contrast, vibrance, tweak exposure, white balance, etc).
So another year has gone by and I'm still using and loving my X-100t. I'm just putting my family photos from 2023 together in the form of a Blurb magazine (which I've done for many years now and believe it"s the best thing we can do with them) and gusss what- all of them I shot with the x-100t again! Ever since I got it some 3 or 4 years ago I have used nothing else to record our family life. That camera is just made for that and it works year after year. It imposes a certain look to the photos that I just love and I also love the camera. It' s beautiful, it' s small so I can take it with me all the time and it has the perfect lens that can do everything I need. I often think of adding another Fuji camera for fun and to add something different but, frankly, I don't need it. The x-100t does all I need so well! I do not have any connection to my Canon cameras that I use proffessionally but I do for this one! ❤ Highly recomended!
Sold it a year ago and ended up getting a SPB317 for a while. Sold that at the beginning of this year and have just been wearing a SARB033 ever since. Haha.
