What you refer to as "sport" actually stands for SPEED.

Now I can open it. Just tried to stick some micro Fibre cloth inside to wipe down the lens and cut my thumb knuckle and now it's bleeding. The edges r sharp so be careful. I'm selling several old cameras for my cousins wife who owned an antique shop. He passed away a few yrs ago. This one has a wire showing through the front lens, so I'd like to know how to open it up to see if I can fix it amd also to clean the lens

Nice video...but you should have did a small section of your post with the camera using video and posting it in your video. Honestly, I thought you were using the camera do do this video...until you pulled it up. Maybe during your closing segment, you should have filmed with the camera. Thanks for the video.

Make sure when buying adapters for the ends of the 120 film reels that you buy strong ones- like literally ones with “strong” in their description- the reason being that you (like me) will get halfway through shooting your roll of film, having a great time, pleased with the subjects you chose to shoot- and the film will stop reeling with the winding reel. What’s happening is the resistance is building on the reels and suddenly the cheap, soft, wax-like plastic on those adapters gives way and won’t reel any further. Now you’re in a position where if you have a darkroom, I guess you can salvage your roll of film, but if not, you’ve gotta pull open the camera (ruining your film) and start over. The cameras are inexpensive and available, cleaning and fixing them isn’t too hard, but there’s a bunch of grifters out there (because of course) who want to try and cash in on your interest in trying out an antique camera, while selling you garbage. Be careful buying those adapters- it’ll save you film and money.

I work as an insurance damage estimator. I am restricted to 12 mb of photos upload of a claim and at times insurance companies want HD pics to argue over damaged with owners. I just bought one and will be trying it out. Thanks. I think this is the right type of camera for good resolution with a small file size.

Thanks for the review! I just got this camera at an estate sale. I'm an amateur photographer just starting out. Appreciate the information and story! I'm glad you're encouraging the younger generation to get out there. If someone had given me a camera at an early age, I might have just been famous by now ;) Ya never know!

....The notches on the film are to tell you what type of film it is (Negative, B&W, colour or reversal(Ektachrome)....and is placed at the lower right corner to insure the emulsion side faces the lens.....Also, the sport finder is a 2 part affair, the 'handle will separate to become a rectangle used in conjunction with the eye 'ring'.....We used these in the early days of TV to shoot rear screens (Ektachrome at the time) for the announcer's backdrops.....If film wasn't so expensive I'd be using mine still, but I'm retired on a fixed income....By the way, the prongs on the side of the lens can be used to fire electronic flash units, you just have to 'jerry rig' a connector......The rangefinder can be used in low light as it will project 2 beams of light when set-up properly, to intersect on the subject....

My husband found this camera today at an estate yard sale this that he bought for me....for $1 😯☺️! A very cool box camera for sure. Thank you for showing me how to open this bad boy! I couldn't figure it out as I was too afraid I was going to break it! Haha! As with yours, the mirror(s) for the viewfinders have moved/shifted and unfortunately, I can't see anything that I point at, aside for some light or shadows. The strap is also broken on mine but at the fastener (not in the middle like yours). Oh well...its not like I'm going to be using it to take photos, so it will sit on display somewhere, as a conversation piece with my fellow photographers, family and friends! It was definitely a cool find! Thanks so much for your informative video on the Kodak Brownie Target Six-16!

similarly I have a P90 and when my 8 year old Grandson was staying with us I took him out on a wildlife shoot with some friends and now 5 years later he is shooting Canon with a tamron 150-600 lens doing g wildlife and sports. The P90 got him hooked. I still have my P90 along with 3 professional cameras.

Man great advice and great video. Today's kids are lucky to grow up with today's tech more than my x gen age. I have this camera got it at a yard sale for 20 with extra batt cool zippered case 2 16 GB cards I have higher gb cards. I've taken great pix with it sunsets sunrises bug nature shots and mountain pix too. These are way better than those little credit card cameras and smartphones cause what they offer than those. Great features and not worried bout sharing it passing it around and little younglings run off to take their own shots and viddies. It teaches them how to handle a camera later. Great viddie dad...

Man I honestly just lastnight had the exact same camera put in my hands and you’ll never guess the price I paid for it! So I’m gonna tell you it was free! Pretty good shape accept the garage dust and age accumulated dirt but the inside is flawless! Anyways Idk anything about the damn thing so I googled it and looked at the guy and was like “are you sure you want to give this to me” he said “yea why what is it worth a lot of money” I was like yeah man you don’t know what you’ve just given me. Well that conversation went on for about 2 more minutes and I was like sweet man thanks! And so after all that I started checking it out and well first thing I had to do was watch a video to figure out how to open the damn thing lol and after that I learned that some of this model was from like 1917 so I started trying to figure out the date on the camera and all I got was a bunch of bull crap! So I just watched your video and figured you might be able to tell me how to go about finding what year this particular camera was made. I tried googling the serial number and all I got was a list of serial numbers other than the one I put in. So if there’s a specific way to phrase what I’m looking for on google or maybe some website you know of or hell maybe you might even know? Any advice would mean a lot buddy I’d really appreciate it! Thanks for the video man helped me take it apart to clean it

A few years ago, I bought some color 70mm motion picture film and used it on a 116 size 1917 brownie 2a. It developed beautifully, and felt really rewarding to bring a 100 year old camera back to life. The only downside was the 70mm film I purchased had sprocket holes since it was for motion pictures.

Sounds like you're talkin' smack about a dude who gave you a sweet deal on his grandma's camera. Who cares if he likes weed. Have some more respect for Ace. Got mine for $5.00 because the people at the thrift store didn't know what it was or how to open it.

I wish you were a bit less negative about using 120 film spool adapters. I use them for a variety of film sizes and have a lot of luck and fun. It would be nice for people to give i these old cameras a chance to continue to do what they do.

You can also disconnect the hood and look directly into the ground glass use a leuop to focus. The hood is most likely for hand held and press work rough estimate. There are two prong like hinges that secure the hood mechanism, unlatch and you are free of protruding pop out hood

the mirrors probably let go I just got one in mint shape and both mirrors arent attached anymore the fix is one of two things tinker and fix it yourself which seems the most likely option or if you are very lucky there may be a camera repair shop willing to do it for you.
