Born n raised here my grandma's house was built in 1871 our family bought it 1891 there so much history here..Arizona was a territory before a state lots of pioneer families here ..actually we natives prefer people leave way too many people here
I live in Buckeye Arizona, in the Westpark Community. Yes the homes and schools are fairly decent, as far as pricing, and quality are concerned. However, beware of the HOA neighborhoods. HOAs here are making huge money from home owners, and are not offering amenities equal to what home owners are paying. What home owners mostly pay for are the HOA's telling you what you can and can't do, and fining you sometimes without notice, for violations you are not aware of. Also, stores and gas stations charge more than customers are being charged the closer you get towards Phoenix, Goodyear, Glendale, and Avondale. DO your due diligence before you decide to move to Buckeye. One more thing. The cold water here is not cold at all during the summer months. In fact, the cold water can be as hot as the actual hot water. I asked Buckeye water department, and the answer I got was that Buckeye is burying the water lines up to code. That may be the case, but it s still not deep enough to make our cold water....cold. There are options Buckeye has to make thing better here, but the city refuses to do any of them.
I am in Pittsburgh June 18th 2024 and all they are building is condos. High on the top of the hills where the farms were. But they don’t expand the roads. Traffic is out of site and this is being done in phoenix too. Where is all the water going to come from.
we left Tempe when our home was purchased for the right of way for the loop 101 and never looked back. it was a decent town up until then now I drive through and it's completely different. miss growing up and going to school there though.
natives are about be out numbered by midwestern that the good thing 1 thing I know about my people Midwest north south GERMANIC people we have low tolerance for BS.
There certainly is pollution here as with any large city. The air quality can be worse in the summers with the heat and then gets better with the monsoon season.
Everywhere has pros & cons. I live in Vancouver, Canada where it's beautiful, safe with great schools. Cons are insane house prices , & three months continuous rain in winter. Have friends who Snowbird in AZ and they love it.
I moved here 25 yrs ago and love it. Yes it gets very hot in the summer but there are trade offs wherever you land. I recommend buying the smallest home your comfortable with just like a car they are cheaper to operate. The only thing I find worrisome is the californication taking place...
Having spent most of my life in Phoenix but also having lived in Montreal and Chicago, I can safely say that the bang for the buck in downtown Phoenix is very underwhelming. And the couple of times I went to First Fridays must have been unusual, because all I noticed was bad parking, bad art, bad music, and some pretty strange people. People should know, too, that just about anything worth doing in downtown Phoenix is gonna cost ya a pretty penny if you don't want to be stepping over homeless people on the sidewalk to get there. It seems to be a downtown without a soul. Phoenix downtown had one once, but I think it was sold around the time they started having one-way streets LOL.
First Fridays has changed so much over the years from when it was first starting out. It definitely is a lot more busy and lots more traffic. Downtown can certainly be more expensive like many other cities in the US. Are you from the downtown Phoenix area?
@@LIVING_IN_ARIZONA Greetings! Both times I went to First Fridays, I was coming from the western suburbs. The first time, I went there intentionally with a friend. The second time, I just happened to be there for a meeting nearby. Both times, though, it was extremely crowded, so I don't know how much more crowded it could possibly get. Unless the quality (as I define "quality," anyway) of it has changed significantly (better art, better music, less of a freak show), I just wouldn't have any interest in going again. Fine for those who like it, though. I compare what we have here to what Montreal has, and I realize the effect of our city government's priorities on our "culture." Phoenix destroyed its original, walkable, downtown and replaced it with a maze of one-way streets, courthouses, office buildings, and monuments to banks and insurance companies... and now it is trying to squeeze some condos in here and there. Montreal (both city proper and metro area) has the same size population as Phoenix. Its downtown area is extremely accessible from anywhere in the metropilitatan area by subway (called "the Metro"), public and private art is everywhere, the architecture is incredible, there are free music festivals and art exhibitions constantly, and literally dancing in the street. Under the city is "the Underground City" as well, miles and miles of underground shopping malls and subway stations (all started in the 1960's). Chicago has similar cultural amenities and easy access to downtown, though it has a larger population and a less comfortable public transit system. Price-wise, the cost of living in Chicago and Montreal is comparable to here. For many decades (at least since the 1970's) all Phoenix has thought it had to sell was sunshine and moderate winter temperatures - and the evidence is all around us. Although some prices may be a little higher in those cities, those increases are offset by things like public transit, free amenities, and other lower costs. Phoenix could learn a lot from those cities. For an illustration of the point I'm trying to make, I recommend the RU-vid video: "The Montreal Metro is a Masterpiece." There are tons of videos about Montreal's and Chicago's vibrant city life, though, so check some of those out, too.
Arizona sucks ass big time because there are no jobs at all and it's a dirty state overrun by homeless drug addicts. The worst place to live ever! It is NOT beautiful, it's dirty and very behind the rest of the country with everything, jobs, economy, everything! Worst decision ever made 💯
she is right! dont move here. wages are low, so families all move into ,they call them Mcmansion. the garages are full with evryones stuff, so everyone parks in the street and the new commers break into your car. it is hot. i will give you a tip. they are going to open the copper mine in superior az. thats where you want to go. buy 50 acres, put your house on 10 and sell off the rest.
Unfortunately this isn't true. Very few people are leaving AZ. Instead people are moving here in groves. Just look at the traffic we have in the past two years. All i ask if some are moving here to AZ, keep your left BS politics at home. There is a reason why people are moving to AZ and its not because we have democrats running our State. Katie Hobbs (GOV) is on a short leash and will be gone in 3 years!
My dad and mom passed away, and they both left me their house in Arizona. My question is when do I pay the property tax, and will I get it sent in the mail? Thank you for your time... Take care, and God Bless you and your family.
Great question and thanks so much for reaching out! It will depend on a few things. If they had a mortgage on the home and the mortgage is still being paid off, part of that should include an escrow account that will pay the taxes for you automatically. If they bought the property with cash or have paid off the mortgage and own the property free and clear, you can pay the property taxes through the Maricopa County Assessor site. Click the link below then follow these directions: enter the address of the property or the name of the person on title (your parents name or your name), When the results come up, click the APN number to pull up the record. Then click the button that say "View/Pay Tax Bill" and it will take you to the county site for you to get the taxes all paid for the year. www.mcassessor.maricopa.gov/
@@LIVING_IN_ARIZONA They still owed 60K on the house, so it's not paided off yet, but with the trust that they left me and my siblings we were going to pay off the rest of the house with the trust. My brother and his fiancé is going to live in the house with me. My brother has rented a house but never paid property tax either. I saw on Google that the Arizona Treasury sends the property tax in the mail on September 1st, and is due on October 1st and delinquent November 1st.
@@LIVING_IN_ARIZONA Thank you for that site btw it shows for 2023 is already paid for in property tax, and showed the value of the home... Take care, and God Bless you and your family.
Love Phoneix ‼️hate the snow better to go see it. It is not that hot. Phoenix in the 70s was great. Becoming an LA. Even Apache Junction.is changing big time. Unbelievable
Yeah, there are tons of options at different sizes and price points. The most affordable options will be in the farther out cities and areas like Maricopa, San Tan Valley, and Surprise. We've done videos on all those areas and new construction communities there so definitely check those out! 😊
Let me give you guys advice you should appreciate what you have while you have it, I live in hawaii and pay 1550 for a 1Bed 750 Sq Ft and that’s not including water/electricity/gas/wifi
Very true, even though the cost of living has gone up here in AZ it is still a lot more affordable than many other areas and cities like NY, DC, Hawaii, Cali, etc. I've heard pretty much everything about the cost of living in Hawaii is higher. Are things like groceries, flights, furniture, etc also more expensive there?
Currently living in Chandler, but hoping to move out that way. Any properties there around $300,000. Am very curious about San Tan Valley. Hope to hear from you.
Yeah the homes here in San Tan Valley and Maricopa city are more affordable than the Chandler and Gilbert areas. Would love to hop on a zoom call with you to chat more about it and answer any questions you have! You can use this link to book a call with us! 😊 bit.ly/LivingInArizonaCall
Thanks so much for reaching out! We have a lot of clients from Canada that have moved here or bought second homes here to enjoy the sunshine! The economy in Scottsdale is very strong, AZ in general has a very strong job market and is continuing to growth. Scottsdale is one of the more expensive cities to live in here, but its beautiful and has lots to offer! If you ever want to hop on a zoom call with us to chat more and go over any questions you might have about maybe making the move here somewhere, book a call with us any time! bit.ly/LivingInArizonaCall
During the summer most people stay inside or in their air conditioned cars during the day in AZ. But when the sun goes down you see people start leaving their homes to walk the dog or exercise. It’s still hot at night (often lows of 90) but without the sun cooking you it’s bearable at night.
Yeah we mostly hide inside with AC during those summer months. It's still hot even at night like you said, but it's more bearable. We just have to treat our summers like a lot of people treat harsh winters, staying inside for those few brutal months and then enjoying the outdoors more once it's get nicer!
Yeah AZ has changed a lot in the past few decades. But that is true of many places all over the country. With time and growth, things are going to continue to change.
You cant blame the voting practices just cause you feelnits convenient. What do you expect ppl to do? Not ever discuss politics? Jeeez...anywhere you move to the cost of living is much more
True, the issues with politics and cost of living are all over in most of the cities around the country. Hoping people can find the areas that they feel are a good fit for them so they can enjoy it!
I live in Flagstaff. i work all over the state, its absolutely beautiful. Everyone that lives here knows why people are leaving. Its because the people that are coming.
I agree that Flagstaff and all of AZ is so beautiful! 😍 Love all the different scenery and ecosystems here and how you can drive just an hour or two and feel like you are in a different part of the country!
Yeah, some areas have less pests than others. Usually if you are living somewhere near the mountain or that has new construction there can be more pests. Pest control companies here know how to deal with the pests really well so finding a good company to help prevent the pests is the best way to go 😊
Yeah, we have a lot of clients from Canada who buy second homes here in AZ and come enjoy the beautiful sunny weather here during those colder months! ☀️
Yeah it's true that more people are moving to AZ each year than leaving, but some are choosing to leave and we wanted to help get some info out there about why to help people decide if AZ is actually the right place for them 🙂
Yeah it will depend on what area of Tempe you are in and what type of rental you are looking for. A lot of the rentals geared towards ASU students can be more affordable, but there is also the high end apartments and homes since Tempe is becoming a big employment hub too with all the companies and headquarters going in there.
It rains a few times a year here (especially during monsoon season). But if you want to live somewhere that has rain often, AZ might not be the right fit. I love the rain too, so when we do get the occasional rainstorm I get so excited!
I've lived in many places. Buckeye is one of the best I've lived in. California was OK when I moved there a while back, then with stupid voting for awful leadership, I was compelled to move over here.
Yeah I love the Buckeye area, has so much to offer and love that it feels less busy and like a slower more small town feel! And the mountain views are awesome!
Seems a lot of people up here in Chicago are also moving to Arizona. Arizona, Tennessee and Missouri is all I hear people talk about moving to here in Illinois.
Yeah a lot of people we have helped move here to AZ have been coming from Chicago and other higher cost areas. AZ seems to be a big draw for them for the lower prices and constant sunshine ☀️
I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS I WENT THRU ARIZONA WHEN I WENT TO CALIFORNIA GREAT PLACE I WAS LIVING IN FLORIDA IM ORIGINALLY FROM NEW YORK CITY IM A LOCAL SINGER AND GUITARIST IM RETIRED AND IM THINKING OF GOING TO MOVE TO ARIZONA COOL PLACE
