Marvel copied its own story! The Blob (second story) has been done in early 2000s, in Avengers cartoon with after the team finds Captain America and thaw him from ice. Then they encounter the blob taking over N.Y. city! It's exactly similar to this one........why let great stories go waste! RESPECT GOLDEN AGE COMICS & ITS STORIES! 👊 I reckon by retconing his Origin was disrespectful to the golden age era of humble beginnings! They made him out a effin THEIF.......you stupid idiots! No wonder Maverl is at its waste side nowadays........pathetic! 😤
"making book" is what bookies do (or did. Is "bookie" still an underworld career? I don't know.) or IOW to calculate odds & take bets on sporting events, all under the table. Thanks for a good time.
(from IMDb) "The Hellstrom Chronicle" (1971) -A scientist explains how the savagery and efficiency of the insect world could result in their taking over the world. This film combines elements of documentary films and horror movies to illustrate the potential threat posed by the world's insects. With their collective intelligence, high capacity for work and sharp instincts, the film argues, they are waging a struggle against humans for supremacy of our planet. Expert cinematography captures footage of the small creatures, some quite tiny and elusive, interspersed with clips from horror films to achieve dramatic effects. (Film is currently posted on RU-vid! ....it's HORRIFYING!)
That porcupine man is The Porcupine one of earlier villain, a disgruntled army weapon designer who thought porcupines would make for the best inspiration
Sorry you don't have enough views on the old monster comics, but what a cool way to go out on; who'd have thought Scarlet Beetle'd get a 2nd appearance let alone be taken out so randomly. Nice little modern nod to the character too, even if we never did actually get Punisher and Wolverine going against him. Is just me or were SB's visions of world conquest a heck of a lot more scary than any alien invasion? As for having to change your channel, thanks for all of these fun comic episodes I'll miss them but you do what you've gotta do, ai will no doubt tag along for whatever the ride this channel goes on from here on.
One assumed the natives were speaking in their own tongue, translated for the readers' benefits. Since one hadn't seen any other tigers, Balu may had been an escapee from somewhere else (such as being captured for a future zoo exhibit)
Hey man just wanted to let you know that you are becoming one of my new favourite Comicbook YTer and I am kinda pissed that I found your channel so late. Keep up the good work buddy. Your appreciated
Initially the Navy thought Bentley learned of a secret incident that really happened, but it turns out his typewriter created the monsters? The how did the incidents happen prior to his stories being written? Sorry this is your last Creature Feature. I was really enjoying them. If I knew anyone, I'd encourage them to watch your channel. It's really good stuff. By the way, check out Hulk Annual #5 from 1976. Xemnu the Titan (the original Hulk) gathers Groot, Blip, Diablo, Taboo, and Goom as a team of Giant Monsters.
noooo who will light the lamp of american monster heritage if you dont maybe a second channel for unpopular/profound monster art so your algorithm dont get swamped by superhero vibes
I think the common use of nuclear weapon is a bit of a meta commentary on common tropes back then rather than author of entire story, sort of like "he writes typical stories" so the germs solution could be seen as part of characterization especially with how it is similar to war of the worlds, rather than issue with overall story
Nothing beats the zany antman stories. Antman had to be difficult to write. I mean, how many of his problems could be solved by him just growing to human size.
It certainly resembles Iron man. However, based on the artwork, Metallo looks more like a vehicle than a suit of armour. The driver is operating it more like a tank or submarine, it has controls rather than the operators limbs in the suits limbs. Id still say Marvels first actual armoured character was dr Doom, who predates Iron man. But its debatable, of course.
The Question and Blue Beetle are two of my favorites as well. I thought one of the best takes on The Question was in Justice League Unlimited but his first solo run at DC was good too.
Oh, I definitely rate it an 8/10 myself, but I'm not as fond of the 'letting your power go to your head until fate steps in' trope. Frankly, I think it would have been interesting if he'd been more of an Iron Man prototype and actually had the atomic blast turn him into a hero who was still wanted for his crimes. Someone who wanted to make amends.
@@HeroicNerd It would be, I agree. And by the way, even if nobody else seems to, *I* appreciate the giant monster comic readings, and for just the reasons you've mentioned, Metallo's always been one of my favorites.
I find these ones interesting too This precedes Iron Man by 23 issues of Tales of Suspense. And this calls the suit the Hulk. It precedes the Hulk by at least a year.
Here is another interesting coincidence. Back when THE HULK made his official move to TALES TO ASTONISH, in his first two issues there , the Hulk was fighting an opponent who was very much like Metallo. Bruce Banner had created a ‘Robot’ that could be piloted, and was built to be indestructible, to be used and survive within Nuclear blasts. The only difference between the‘Robot’ and Metallo is that Banner’s creation is squarish and blocky and colored red. An unseen anonymous foreign spy steals the robotic suit and of course ends up fighting the Hulk. The Hulk defeats the‘Robot’ by knocking him down a chasm and as far as I know never seen again.
