So RATT came to SLC Utah March 18 1984 to film this for Rock Palace. Many have seen the Ozzy pro shot concert of Bark at the Moon tour show from that night. Mötley Crüe opened for Ozzy, but that footage has not surfaced. Ratt came on at 4 PM during a sound check. And there were no fans in attendance for the set! Two classmates worked security for the show and confirmed. We were very upset they didn’t open the show.
RATT. Yeah, baby! One of my very favorites from the great 80s!! They sound amazing here! Young, hungry, raw, and not spoiled by success. RATT was a force to be reckoned with in the 80s. They dominated that decade, to be sure. Their EP (titled RATT) in '83 was our introduction to them and their next 5 LP's were killer !! Four of the 5 went Platinum and Multi-Platinum. What a great catalog of music they put out. I still listen to it to this day. And I guess I always will. RATT. They are legends. And to all of us who were young in the 80s.....WE KNOW.
One of the most overrated bands Y&T would blow them off the stage and they didnt get half the press as Ratt. Don't get me wrong I rocked with ratt just pissed Y&T didn't make it bigger than most 70z&80z bands. Becsuse they( Yesterday and Today) Fucking ROCKED and still today keep rocking and sound incredible. Ratt today not so good.
Loved Out Of The Cellar, great leads from Warren on that album, he was jacked up here, his solo in "You're in Trouble" was ahead of the beat, maybe he couldn't hear the drums but regardless the rest of his soloing was kick ass and smoking.
I wish there were PRO SHOT full shows from the Invasion and Undercover (85-86 and 87 tours). To think Atlantic Records did not follow up the first home video with a live Home video of the Dancing Undercover tour is just beyond criminal and stupidity. Makes NOOOOO SENSE!!! There is barely any decercam corder shows from the 87 tour and that was co headline with Bon Jovi Slippery tour. OMFG, how ???
Saw them at Mountain Aire Festival at Angels Camp, CA on June 23, 1984. Robbin Crosby was making faces to the crowd the whole set. 😄 Look at who played: REM, Berlin, Ratt, The Motels, Cars, Huey Lewis & The News (my girlfriend’s favorite), and The Plimsouls. Unreal…
it's wild how similar Warren and George Lynch play. From note choice/melodic sensiblity to even the way they hold the pick and the angle of their fretting hands. It's like you took the same guitar player split him in two, put one in a more typical 80's hair metal band and the other in the little darker 80's metal band.
I remember seeing this concert on cable at my brothers house in Columbia, SC, and I was instantly hooked and had to find out more about this band called Ratt! Still one of my all time favorite bands!!
We lived in San Diego and had a Rehearsal room near Mickey Ratt in about 78’ 79’ - near Grand Ave and Garnett where the back group of units were just Rock Groups
