Why go through all the time, effort & expense of the rust removal with chemicals & solvents, if you are just gonna go through the process of media/sand blasting anyway? Seems to me like you did a LOT of unnecessary steps to get the same results.

Nice restoration. I doubt I would have put that much work in such an inexpensive, moderate quality tool. However, it does make me want to do more restoration work.

This drill press was and is made in China and sold in many countries with different brands. I also have one of these, bought new, but you have to modify it quite a bit.

Nice recovery and restoration. That vice was in very bad shape. I had a chuckle, when you found some random piece of steel tubing that looked like part of a bearing and it fitted perfectly inside the fixed jaw.

I thought I was watching one of my other favorite restoration channels and I thought this was an April Fools joke because they use lathes and are perfectionists. Now I know I’m not and it’s just a channel I don’t typically watch.

I honestly don't understand people who bring in a filthy caked & rusted pieces and spray on with oodles of WD40 (or equivalent) and struggling to move seized parts. Instead you could simply wash it thoroughly then bathe it in white vinegar for 24 hours then it's all clean and unlocked in most cases. I mean why are you so keen of showing all that grime and struggle as if you've achieved something or overcome a huge obstacle? It just simply goes to show you're incompetent and wasting resources really that's all

Cloridric acid is easier and faster to remove rust, than you can block the reaction with soda.
