We would not recommend it, it's a busy shipping lane and there are plenty of large cruise ships that make their way up the passage - much safer to go with Water World Swim

Excellent video! I especially liked the filming off and on the way across while swimming with one arm. You convinced me, I'll give Sicily to Italy a try in 2024. Which company did you use?

It is totally irresponsible not to tell a half-naked swimmer that there is a jellyfish nearby, because if she gets entangled in its tentacles, she will surely drown. The pain of a jellyfish sting cannot be soothed and can be likened to putting a hot iron to the body; it also leaves scars similar to burns.
Thanks, Martin really glad you enjoyed the video - they certainly do leave a nasty welt, we told everyone immediately afterwards and all the swimmers knew and are familiar with Lions Mane as they live in Scotland and swim in the sea all year round. Always good to be responsible and we've swum with Lion's Manes countless times.
Do you pay any money to swim in the mole at Dorking?... You see I pay over £100 a year to fish there and its owned by Dorking angling...... Just wanted you to know that there are private stretches and no bathing is allowed
The ladies story is as poignant as the achievement of an ice mile. 🏊♀️ 🧊 ❄️ I used to swim in a London lido (near Wandsworth) as a kid. Lovely to see they are still around.

I always admire that ‘one arm stroking, one arm filming’ technique that you have completely mastered!! Coming from the northern PNW (🇨🇦), I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to Scotland so I love to see these lochs in your vids. I always enjoy the family vibe in your vids, nice to see your mom out with you boys. The colour of the lake is very Guinness like, but beautiful just the same. It’s refreshing to see that you folks are not fearful of a few underwater plants or some lily pads… true wild swimmers you are!! Thanks for sharing and hope you are getting lots of summer swims in. 💦🌎Ⓜary🏊♀ PS - come swimming in the PNW (🇨🇦) anytime… well, maybe not in wintertime…. best to plan for summertime🤣
So much amazing water… the lakes and rivers are all very majestic!! The swim journeys look to be the perfect way to have a little adventure, fitness, and holiday all tied together. I live in the wilderness of the northern PNW (🇨🇦) where there are no other wild swimmers. Stunning scenery… such a rugged, wild, and beautiful place!! The mountains and rock formations rise out of the water with such a commanding presence... incredible!! I also loved seeing the interesting buildings and fishing sites. I really felt your sense of triumph when each of you waded out of the water and up onto the rocks at the end of the swim. As per ushe, I watched the swim scenes twice. Two and a half hours is a long time to be in 9 degree water. I loved the video and the music is perfect. I read the comments… it shocks me to the core that a few people would make negative comments. I have nothing but respect for you three, and I enjoyed every minute of this. It’s also very cool to learn about The Maelstrom and the surrounding area and geography. The swimming was really great… I watched the swim section of the video twice. YoWzA… what an adventure!! Greetings to you from the northern wilderness of the PNW (🇨🇦). Wild swimming addict here who swims in the local lakes and rivers from break up to freeze up (April - Nov.) along with the beavers, moose, loons, and bears. I always admire the swim adventures that you three embark upon and accomplish with tremendous enthusiasm and skill. I learn so much from your videos, and I love that you put swimming right up there with other outdoor adventures. Whilst I have been buzzed by an overhead float plane two times in the past few years (thank goodness for my high vis swim cap) I have never had to deal with a cruise ship (or any large boats). My partner has a small sail boat, and he sails while I swim alongside. Come join the fun if you ever have the notion to check out the PNW and the amazing rugged West Coast of 🇨🇦.
