I am a DIY guy. My channel has or as it grows, will have videos pertaining to CB radio, ham radio, tree cutting, saw milling, tractor work, welding, carpentry, vehicle repair and many other things.
Where I live, many people can do several different things. "Jack of all trades, master of none". Being able to do things ourselves saves time and money by not having to wait for somebody else and pay them.
@@user-pn2ye6mv3wOh..a brand new tank? Yeah probably fine. Tanks that have been filled, I'm not 100% sure about. Yes...definitely want them secured though.
I'm going through trying to locate a new AG 500 gal to buy myself, the prices of these things vary widely. Mine will last me all year, plan to fill it in July.
It's called getting your own CPS software and doing it yourself pretty much self-explanatory instead of wasting money on a new radio why don't you just use the current Motorola CDM radio you got otherwise don't even worry about buying any radios that you can't afford and you don't have the right to go buying radios and putting them on your county system because the FCC license only allows what units that are on the license itself so for example if you're only licensed for 200 units that means you can only have up to that amount otherwise anything other than that won't be allowed it all‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Gotcha..random internet commenter...I'm gonna waste money buying Motorola (gag) software for an old analog only radio that won't work on DMR or P25...(when I want a radio for DMR & P25) because somebody on RU-vid with a blank channel says that's what I should have done and I shouldn't buy a radio that I can't afford (clearly I could afford it....it's right there in the video) and that I didn't have the "right" to do blah blah. You also don't know how much I paid for it. How about I worry about what I have a "right" to do. DMR and P25 have radio ID numbers don't they? Did you forget about that? When transmitting on either of those, each radio will transmit it's unique ID number....so ya think I'm trying to hide something? Whahahaha... Furthermore...you're going on assumptions...I never said that it was set up to TX on the county's P25 did I? Nope, I did not. It could be RX only on P25....maybe that's it....maybe P25 is used for other things as well? Hmmm...oh yeah...that's right it is...as is DMR. This radio is loaded with analog, DMR and P25 for 3 states bud......oh yeah....including those 3 modes for ham radio. So you gonna tell me that I don't have the right to use it as a receiver? Anyhow....move along. I'm not entertaining an argument with somebody from somewhere who doesn't have a clue.
Weird. I "rent" my propane tank, just filled up in mid December at 2.34 a gallon. No winter surcharge either. Idk where you're at but y'all getting screwed.
that line is the high pressure line feeder line NOT a return line .I would wait to replacement line is untanned .These systems are a non return line system .
Only problem with owning your own tank and especially an older 1000 gal. is when it has a problem with a valve, and eventually it will, you will lose whatever propane you don't use until it leaks down to empty to replace the leaking part!
@@northwoodsyankee3528 Yes Sir! I sale propane for a living and own my own tank, but I have had customers that tank was leaking after I filled it and nothing I could do to help, very frustrating!
That sucks. Sure, anything is possible at any time. If we figure a price different of about $2/gal and weigh it against...well maybe I'll get a leak many many years down the road...a fill up or two has already saved what would be lost if all was lost. Personally I've had some real old tanks and none have leaked yet.....now I'm jinxed I know. @@ssr4656
I'm sure it is easy being analog only. Incompetent...well...don't get me started! I have the software for the Kenwoods and when I called that same radio shop to find out about radio ID's for the P25 system I got told that there were none. What do you mean there are none? How are your radios working? Oh...ignore ID...Yeahhh...they put a P25 system online and are running it as analog as possible. Now...this is a LE P25 system we're talking about. I asked what series of numbers I should use to ID the dept's I was programming and got told, "make something up". ARE YOU EFFIN' SERIOUS!!?? You're running a P25 system and your ID's are a shot in the dark? Ok...well...down the road don't whine to me if somebody else dupes an ID number that I'm already using. Every Motorola radio they've programmed is running the same ID...go figure. So of course you know what that leads to. They do their DMR systems the same way. The ID is the same across everything. I also needed to program one of their DMR systems in to Kenwoods and got told use ID 1000. So...you want me to use the same ID for multiple radios??? That's how they have multiple FD/LE/EMS radios set up. All ignoring ID's trying to play analog on digital. They struggle to get analog stuff right. When I PAID them to program this thing, I had a list and it was screwed up. I couldn't TX on some stuff. I I tookk it back and they "fixed it" and it STILL didn't TX on what it should. It's difficult to program a freq pair and PL tone. PL's are really really hard! I could go on a long time about the stupidisms in the public safety radio world around here...it'd just make your eyeballs counter rotate.
I have no idea where you live and things work differently in different places. I got mine through my gas company. Definitely shop around!! Some companies might want nearly double what others ask.
My water heater system is set up similar to the one you have in the shop with a side arm heat exchanger. Hooked up similar at the bottom and top into were the relief valve come up out of center of water heater. The one difference is there is no additional faucet up top where you'd think there would be one so you can fill the water in the wood boiler. Is this a design flaw or is there another way to fill the wood boiler that I'm not aware of?
How do you fill it now, with a hose in the top of the boiler? There should be a "boiler drain" valve looking similar to what you see here on the top of the side arm heat exchanger on the outflow of the boiler water piping. If there isn't, then nope, you have no way to connect your pressurized water to your boiler water jacket to fill/top off. It sounds like somebody didn't install one. You could still install one, it's not difficult. It sure beats dragging a frozen garden hose around in the winter.
Yes, I have to fill it from the top of the boiler. The only valve on the water heater is at the bottom to drain the water heater. I've tried to get my system up and running this year and I'm having a couple issues. First, the water indicator shows no water in it. When I go to fill the boiler it starts to overflow within a couple minutes. I can't get the water indicator to show any water. I even fished a small wire in it to see if there was muck in it but to no avail. Second, it continues to boil and water overflows from the top once it gets up to temp. I just replaced the door seal but it still boils over. Any suggestions? @@northwoodsyankee3528
Mid Michigan here, I have a 1000 gallon tank that I own. I shop every October for the cheapest price and go with that company. This takes me about 10-15 minutes to do, once a year. NEVER rent a tank.
I find the prices to be cheapest in august. I want my propane bought before the corn gets picked. If it’s a wet year the farmers use vast amounts of LP gas to dry grain before they sell it, thus driving the price up.
It all depends on the year and what the fisherman's quota is. Many years ago they were only worth 25-50 dollars per pound but fishing was unlimited. Now the price is much higher, but it's limited.
I just did a fuel pump in my 2010 GMC sierra. I replaced all the fuel lines and coated it all with a thick coating of fluid film for good measure. 😂 I’m impressed I got 143k miles and 13yrs in Michigan on my fuel pump.
@@kruthawildhog623 Our treatys grant us the right to hunt and fish anywhere in our (unceded) territory that includes Maine and the right to sell what we have at our disposal at any settlement especially in Nova Scotia here. If these non natives had the same right as us they'd be right beside us....oh wait they are 😂
That’s awesome on those radios p25 which is FDMA, dmr which is TDMA, and then analog. It is literally the whole deal. One of these days I will pull the trigger and buy one. Also, I have issues with Motorola also. They are nearly impossible to get software from unless you own a business or run one. It’s ridiculous. The fact is that kenwood is user friendly and my Dad who is a communications engineer, says kenwood has a much better signal to noise ratio. He prefers kenwood of moto. Great install man.
Thanks. Yep, Kenwood has their act together, Mototrash doesn't. When someone operates in an area where they need to run P25, DMR and analog, who the hell wants to carry two portable radios and have to juggle two mobile radios in a vehicle? Buy Motorola that's what you get. Buy a real radio...like Kenwood and you spend a lot less money and get it all in one package.
@@studleystephen8052 Kenwood is practical and logical. Mototrash just makes money selling to people that have no clue. A place I used to work bought Motogarbage portables that were DMR. The radio shop said that's what we needed...yep....gonna work real good when the radio system goes to P25. Sho 'nuff....P25 came and that Motojunk became expensive desk ornaments. The radio shop made their money. Kenwood 5200's replaced them. We needed to run analog, P25 and DMR. I did all of the programming and that shop started losing $$.
Imagine how simple the job would be if the engineers knew what an access panel was. I may have to do this soon myself, I'm getting a long crank and everything that could be causing it is pretty much right there on the pump assembly.
I just did a fuel pump in my 2010 GMC ext cab. I cant believe my original pump lasted that long up in Michigan. I ended up replacing the gas lines, lock ring and pump. Just so every thing is not going to give me a surprise, should of done that when I had the tank out moment. After getting everything put back in the tank I sprayed the top of the pump with fluid film to hopefully buy it a little time.
Have any trouble w/ the gas tank strap bolts?Mine is seriosul crusty down there, scared to try spinning them out especially the front one which you can't seem to access the thread sides to spray w/ wd-40 or anything.. thanks
If you have access to U tube you can program that Motorola CDM 1250 your self all you need to do is look up how to program a Motorola CDM 1250 and it should give you detailed information on how to program a Motorola CDM 1250 all you need to do is just look an listin hope this information will help you out ok
If you're driving down the road and get in a crash, you risk being injured and smashing up your vehicle. Life is nothing but "what ifs". There's no perfect solution everything. The likelihood of a tank failing is slim. I'm sure it happens from time to time, a valve goes bad or something, but I've never seen it.
@northwoodsyankee3528 yank what are pros and cons.....most rent there must be a reason. They kant alls....bee stupey...ol tomm....pues Como que en El Dia en que LA conoci ist dein Auf Das licht blokey
Most fuel companies have requirements that don’t allow the vent to be within 10 feet of the propane tank. That installation would not work in most areas.
That tank isn't there. It was removed and another tank was set up elsewhere. Noted at 4:16 in the video that it was going to be removed before the heater was used.
Alright....so to be clear. I just deleted a guy's comments who was trying to misconstrue what I've said here, probably to try and get more business for himself. It looked like a ploy to try and get Canadian tribal members to buy nets from him. Apparently he will sell gear to anybody anywhere so if he had the same phone call that I had (described below), it sounds like he would have sold to the guy. That's up to him if he wants to pad his pockets by selling to somebody who tells him right out of the gate that they are going poaching with it. Going on to somebody else's page and trying to gain attention to get business away from them for yourself is a dickhead move. It'd be no different than a restaurant owner setting up advertising in the parking lot of someone else's restaurant attempting to get the customers to come to their restaurant instead. I never stated that Canadian tribal members are poachers and that I wouldn't sell to you. If the guy had watched the video and paid any attention to it, it's obvious that I talked about the USA and name a few specific states down the eastern seaboard. Watch it for yourself. I mentioned that I have many customers in Canada, all of which are tribal I believe. When a guy from New Jersey called and told me all about how he was going to poach elvers and then smuggle them over to NYC (there's the federal law violation) to sell them and wanted me to supply him gear, I declined. New Jersey does not have an elver fishery so there's no way he was fishing legally in the USA. From the comments of the other net builder, it sounds like he would have supplied gear. Whatever dude. There is no way that this calls Canadian tribal members poachers and I don't appreciate shit stirrers trying to spin things.
My 2012 Sierra, 5.3L, crew cab 5.5" bed, had the blue disconnect in the front and the 4 pronged metal retainer, requiring the special disconnect tool at the fuel pump.
