I have been using the 5700 mobile and 5200 portable for about a year now. I am liking them both.
I am going to do up another video discussing the both of them. If you live in a world where you need to use two digital modes, Kenwood is the way to go. In my world I need to use analog, DMR and P25. Motorola doesn't cut the mustard. Using Motorola would require buying two radios, at much higher costs, whereas Kenwood is smart and designed a radio that does it all in one package at a much lower cost.

I would go straight to the battery, not the fuse panel.

It's called getting your own CPS software and doing it yourself pretty much self-explanatory instead of wasting money on a new radio why don't you just use the current Motorola CDM radio you got otherwise don't even worry about buying any radios that you can't afford and you don't have the right to go buying radios and putting them on your county system because the FCC license only allows what units that are on the license itself so for example if you're only licensed for 200 units that means you can only have up to that amount otherwise anything other than that won't be allowed it all‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Gotcha..random internet commenter...I'm gonna waste money buying Motorola (gag) software for an old analog only radio that won't work on DMR or P25...(when I want a radio for DMR & P25) because somebody on RU-vid with a blank channel says that's what I should have done and I shouldn't buy a radio that I can't afford (clearly I could afford it....it's right there in the video) and that I didn't have the "right" to do blah blah. You also don't know how much I paid for it. How about I worry about what I have a "right" to do. DMR and P25 have radio ID numbers don't they? Did you forget about that? When transmitting on either of those, each radio will transmit it's unique ID number....so ya think I'm trying to hide something? Whahahaha... Furthermore...you're going on assumptions...I never said that it was set up to TX on the county's P25 did I? Nope, I did not. It could be RX only on P25....maybe that's it....maybe P25 is used for other things as well? Hmmm...oh yeah...that's right it is...as is DMR. This radio is loaded with analog, DMR and P25 for 3 states bud......oh yeah....including those 3 modes for ham radio. So you gonna tell me that I don't have the right to use it as a receiver? Anyhow....move along. I'm not entertaining an argument with somebody from somewhere who doesn't have a clue.

Would gladly send you the CPS for that CDM radio. Programming them is easy. Sounds like your radio shop is imcompetent.

I'm sure it is easy being analog only. Incompetent...well...don't get me started! I have the software for the Kenwoods and when I called that same radio shop to find out about radio ID's for the P25 system I got told that there were none. What do you mean there are none? How are your radios working? Oh...ignore ID...Yeahhh...they put a P25 system online and are running it as analog as possible. Now...this is a LE P25 system we're talking about. I asked what series of numbers I should use to ID the dept's I was programming and got told, "make something up". ARE YOU EFFIN' SERIOUS!!?? You're running a P25 system and your ID's are a shot in the dark? Ok...well...down the road don't whine to me if somebody else dupes an ID number that I'm already using. Every Motorola radio they've programmed is running the same ID...go figure. So of course you know what that leads to. They do their DMR systems the same way. The ID is the same across everything. I also needed to program one of their DMR systems in to Kenwoods and got told use ID 1000. So...you want me to use the same ID for multiple radios??? That's how they have multiple FD/LE/EMS radios set up. All ignoring ID's trying to play analog on digital. They struggle to get analog stuff right. When I PAID them to program this thing, I had a list and it was screwed up. I couldn't TX on some stuff. I I tookk it back and they "fixed it" and it STILL didn't TX on what it should. It's difficult to program a freq pair and PL tone. PL's are really really hard! I could go on a long time about the stupidisms in the public safety radio world around here...it'd just make your eyeballs counter rotate.

That’s awesome on those radios p25 which is FDMA, dmr which is TDMA, and then analog. It is literally the whole deal. One of these days I will pull the trigger and buy one. Also, I have issues with Motorola also. They are nearly impossible to get software from unless you own a business or run one. It’s ridiculous. The fact is that kenwood is user friendly and my Dad who is a communications engineer, says kenwood has a much better signal to noise ratio. He prefers kenwood of moto. Great install man.

Thanks. Yep, Kenwood has their act together, Mototrash doesn't. When someone operates in an area where they need to run P25, DMR and analog, who the hell wants to carry two portable radios and have to juggle two mobile radios in a vehicle? Buy Motorola that's what you get. Buy a real radio...like Kenwood and you spend a lot less money and get it all in one package.

@@northwoodsyankee3528 Amen to that Brother! Motorola audio sounds good but Kenwood sounds better and works better.

@@studleystephen8052 Kenwood is practical and logical. Mototrash just makes money selling to people that have no clue. A place I used to work bought Motogarbage portables that were DMR. The radio shop said that's what we needed...yep....gonna work real good when the radio system goes to P25. Sho 'nuff....P25 came and that Motojunk became expensive desk ornaments. The radio shop made their money. Kenwood 5200's replaced them. We needed to run analog, P25 and DMR. I did all of the programming and that shop started losing $$.
