I know Scorched recommend titanium towers for heavy bashing, but how do you think the carbon fiber would hold up? I've got some scorched carbon fiber Towers coming from my Typhon. Great analysis, sub'd!
@@brucecampbellx ifs it going to be an on road typhon it will be good. If you are going to be jumping it and bashing it off-road, I would go titanium or with a set of M2C towers.
Awesome build man and i loved the video, 86 on 6s then 103 on 8s that's smoking fast i just bought my first Arrma on road platform a Felony and i might do some of the same mods you have on that Infraction you have. I already have a Castle MMX8s\1717 1,650kv combo for it i pulled from my XO-1 that was my first high speed on road platform but had a lot of issues with but will fix someday but i want to try out my new Arrma for awhile.
@@818_Custom_Garage Thank you for the kind words, I got the chance to run my new Arrma Felony yesterday for a short bit and it handled amazing. and with some trimming on the steering it went straight as an arrow and compared to my XO-1 the Felony is so much easier to drive. My XO-1 would dance all around on the road and would need constant trimming.
@@cjchannel12RC I built an XO-1 drag/speed run car for someone and it was always tough to get to run straight. I finally had it running straight once I worked on the alignment and added a slight toe out which adds a little drag but made a huge improvement
@@818_Custom_Garage Neat idea, I should try that when i get my XO-1 back up and running next month since i took all the electronics out of it for the Felony. But i do have an older Hobbywing Max 6 G1\4985 1,650kv combo i'm going to put in the XO-1.
If your going to bash it, leave it as a 6s. All that nice new carbon fiber will crack, and you will be back to stock. The big tire arrma are for bashing. You bash with that esc it will thermo lock on you. Keep bashing it will pop the caps on the side of that esc. 6s is good for bashing and drifting.
Arrma doesn't build a stock 8S Infraction. Your running an upgraded esc which is their 8S version. This has been done tons of time buy other speed runners, such as myself. The 8S Spektrum esc's always cut out, they are pretty much JONK escs, like Hobbywing. They are a version of each other. Your not running anything stock, your not showing the live readings of your GPS either, LOL!!!! So their is nothing stock about your infraction, it's not stock, lol..... I have 10 versions of these car/truck. The trucks are the slowest, a long with the felony because of te rear gears. Most of my stuff has been converted to the limitless style for speed runs. By the way yes you lost some weight removing the brake, but it does inprove your stopping in a straight line as well.
@@TRAELEVATION yes, with the gearing I turned the punch down a little and it went away. I think the Esc wires are a little long, with that length a cap pack would be helpful
I found if you shave of the lip on the esc tray just a bit you can fit the XLX2 pretty straight. I have it that way in my infraction and limitless. Great video
Are you really using that as a drag car? You would have fun building a real drag truck/car, unless you have already done it before? I have two drag trucks… Losi and Traxxas… I’ve built them kind of here and there… they both would smoke that car on 2s… if I throw a 3s battery in it would blow your mind…
@@RC-Closer1313 yeah I’m not really into the 2WD drag cars. To easy…wanted to build something that would be a challenge. Eventually it will most likely end up on foams and need some serious prep. This is all just testing right now.
@@owen8538 haven’t done the 6s hinge pins. I haven’t seen the need yet. I have just sheered shock shafts and broken hubs. The arms and bulkheads have handled the abuse of major crashes so far
Very nice build. I'm running the same set up but had drama with the rear center dog bone.i went with a scorched pinocchio spool & shafts...went with PP spool & carbon shafts in my limitless...I personally like the arrma heat sink on the motor but Power Hobby has a 47-49mm mount that will except 2x 40mm rocket fans...also if you want grip go with grp tires. Hoons are no good around a hundred
@@stephencartwright9792 that’s a bummer on the rear shaft but understandable due to its length. I have a drag limitless we are working on that has the Perfect Pass setup as well. I think I like the scorched setup a little more. We are definitely going to GRPs as well, just wanted to see what we could do since it’s just a bash build
@@shaneogarro it’s not the cheapest, but could be done and a smaller budget. You could keep everything pretty stock and just do the ESC and motor combo. I would definitely tune the diff and center or do a spool
@@shaneogarro just take your time and patience. I honestly look at a lot of the schematics for the cars to see how they are assembled before I just jump in. You will pick a lot up by just doing and testing
hey love your video. please tell me how you removed the red top base plate in the front by the shock tower. I'm struggling with mine. I want to fit the scortched carbon centre brace.. thnk you
@@marcfitrcanthony6419 there are the screws on the top that need to be removed. You also need to remove the upper hinge pins as the rear hinge pin brace is screwed to the top plate
The only thing I think was work you didn’t need to do was that gaudy heat sink😳 they make way nicer ones out of better aluminum (draws heat faster) for a few bucks since you have the fan… just my opinion… awesome build other than that bro🤙🏻
@@818_Custom_Garage I’ll get the brand and get it to you better. If you like they have set ups with a thermostat that doesn’t run the fan unless it reaches a certain temp..
Great job by all!!! I've ran a similar setup for awhile now and as like ypu said it works for some parking lot bashing and some higher speeds. Involving the kids is epic...i try to mine as much as possible...memories they will remember forever!! 💯🔥💥🚀
@@JoeGerdingRc thank you very much!!! We are having a blast and the infraction is one of my favorites for sure!! The kids are having fun as well. I hope they keep it going into the future!!!
it's sure looks like a 7th scale because it was behind you on your intro , making it look smaller than it really is on the vid 🤔 🤣🤣🤣 😜 Although it doesn't really look any larger than my FTX SUPERFORZA GT road car either on your vid . It's scale size , looks deceiving on video 🤣🤣🤣
I've seen totally stock Infractions break 90 mph with just the speed pinion. I'd think 100 plus on 8s isn't improbable. Infraction is my favorite on road rig i own. Just bought my second one. Horizon Hobby Ebay store had them for $448 for a couple days during the sale.
Yes totally attainable on stock electronics. Will it be hot you bet!!! Haha. It also needs a lot more room than I have. I’ve been looking for better places to make some runs. It’s just finding places with low traffic. The infraction is awesome!!!
Yea I wouldn't waste my money on the Arrma Granite Boost.. Well I did at first lol paid $169 for the boost then 2 weeks later the Granite Mega goes on sale for $160 😮 So yea I had to return my Boost and order the Mega. The Mega is already a 4x4 amd it already has an SLT3 controller with an independent receiver, unlike the Boost that comes with the lower SLT 2 controller. So whenever My 9yr old Daughter is ready to upgrade to brushless, we don't have to worry about having to buy a whole new controller and receiver because the boost comes with a 2 in 1 receiver and brushed esc and of course you need to remove that altogether to be able to install a brushless esc., Oh and not to mention the 4x4 boost kit which sells for $40 bucks. So in the end it'll cost you more to build up imo but the Mega is the way to go. I recently bought a Vorteks boost $170 and installed a 4x4 boost kit $40, A Spektrum 120Amp ESC and a 2400kv spektrum brushless motor off of a New Arrma outcast 4s for $115 for both the 4s esc and motor setup and had to buy a Dumborc with gyro controller and receiver $40 since I got the Boost with the 2in1 esc smh... So it all cost me about $365 which is 35 bucks more then the Vorteks BLX 3s but got a 4s setup instead. So I am happy with how fast it is.. but I personally like my daughters Granite Mega a lil better. Can only imagine how nice it'll run with a 4s-6s setup, But that probably won't happen. Will end up getting a cheaper brand 3s brushless setup though. Anyhow sorry for the long write up lol but great video. Keep them coming bro 👊
Great call getting the fender kit. I run with no front splitter except for speed runs. I used shoe goo on the front of the body. I also cranked up the suspension for better ground clearance except for speed runs. The Infraction is so awesome. It's literally unbelievable how your youngest handled the rc!!! Thanks for posting!
@@818_Custom_Garage yep I’ve started ordering like 2 or 3 of everything for future use. I have RCs from the 70s I run with my dad and he still has some spares! It’s incredible lol
