My thoughts.. organisations don’t employ people, people employ people! Get out there and network. If you are at a business fare hand out business cards and ensure you get one from the person as well. If they don’t phone or email you can contact them and politely follow up and engage with the view to provide services after having a meaningful conversation.. = success and work. When at business fairs etc take your photos on an electronic tablet or iPad.. showing them your portfolio right there you can showcase your work and chat about how you can solve their problems and provide high quality work via your work demonstrated, there and then success! Regards, CJ
This is literally a fictionally story. This was a short story written by Lischen Miller called The Haunted Light at Newport by the Sea. It was said to have been inspired to save this lighthouse from demolition due to it being out of commission. A quote from an article states, "The lighthouse was decommissioned just three years after it was built. It fell into disrepair and was nearly forgotten until a magazine writer gave it new life more than 20 years later." The writer herself says its fictional. I've been to this lighthouse as a scared kid and didn't get any weird or scary vibes.
Who really knows what or who lurks in the darkness? What starts out as ploy for attention sometimes gets more attention than humanly expected! ;-) Happy Coasting!
I grew up in troutdale Oregon, it's a 2 hour drive from Newport. I have been to that lighthouse, and the atmosphere in that lighthouse was very heavy and I had the feeling that something demonic was in that lighthouse.
Hi Tony, am a big fan! A thoroughly professional and enjoyable video with excellent support. Appreciate the information shared, not many are kind enough to share such information, it’s useful to self check and calibrate what we’re doing to achieve success or remain successful! Wonder if you’d be kind enough to give support regarding agreements or contracts, seems to be a black art to have something in place for the client.. if a small operator, do they really need to have legal time spent to have what they do written up? The legalities of providing a drone service? Would be interesting to see your opinion on this???… thanks and regards, CJ
Hello Chriseley! Hello De Cymru! Thanks a million for the love and encouragement! Indeed! I will take on your topic! Smart and quite relevant, for sure! So that I am able to best hit the mark, share with me a few of the most pressing talking points pertaining to how creative-types can protect their business investment. I look forward to reading your response! Until then, happy Sunday! Much love and gratitude from all of us here in the Pacific Northwest! ;-) T
Very thought provoking video! My barrier- my target audience doesn’t know the technology exist, therefore the search for aerial mapping services for my products doesn't truly exist….
Thank you Earl! I would take an education-value approach. In other words, I might create and present a teaching seminar that illustrates the features (factory-talk) and benefits (customer-talk) about what the technology is, but more importantly, what it will do FOR them. (Save money, acquire greater operational efficiencies, realize greater controls, etc.) I just published an article that focuses on this very topic. Make it a great Saturday! ;-) T ( 7 Steps to Marketing Unfamiliar Drone Services: aerialnorthwest.com/oregon-aerial-drone-flight-blog/7-steps-to-marketing-unfamiliar-drone-services.html )
Thanx for the insight. I started a Drone Meetup in my local area, just to meet fellow pilots and chat about our work and possible collaboration on projects. We had 6 pilots attend. Our next mtg is Aug 17, looking forward to again meeting new folks and talking Drone biz...helping each other with some of the items you mentioned...
Kory! I am so happy that you are making it happen out there! The more we collaborate with meaning and purpose, the greater the positive sentiment and value we offer across our aerial industry at large. Much respect and all green lights! ;-) T
Hi Tony, I am on the cusp of starting my own biz, working with an SBDC counselor developing my budget. Interiors of homes, do you use a drone or a handheld camera?
SB! Happy Friday! For most all exterior photography, I deploy the Air2S. For certain tight or super low-level captures, I break out the Canon 5D MK II. For the interiors, I use my Canon. In rare occasions (on large scale interiors) I have flown indoors. That stated, much planning and careful precautions should always be implemented prior to flying indoors. All greens lights on your endeaver! Much respect! ;-) T
Excellent points Tammy! Thank you! We are currently in post-production for the "Reel Oregon Coast: Newport Edition." We will include more detail pertaining to your suggestion. Keep On Coasting! ;-) T
I like your format! I'm still thinking about my brand and name (hence using my dummy account) I'm taking the part 107 on Monday! I'm super confident ill pass, just wanted to be proactive and research. thanks so much!
I've been to Nye Beach many times. I plan to go there again after the Cascadia Subduction zone snaps. I'm not in the mood for a 9.0 earthquake off the Oregon Coast.
